We loved our stay. The view over the harbour was nice with all the lights at night. Very comfy bed and spacious room. Staff were very professional and friendly. We were close to the hotels and shops and railway station.

Last week I staid with Adrian Clifton and his team — what can I say except that you guys were amazing in the way you looked after my team and I. Thank You for helping make a busy and full on week so much more pleasurable. Leigh Lewis.

Hotel staff is so nice. Even though there is no parking available, the valet service is outstanding. 24x7 they will park and fetch your car, well worth the price so you don't have to feed a meter. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Very clean.

The rooms were decent. We got a room with a view. The place is close to the town centre and has a paid compulsory valet service.

We enjoyed two adjoining rooms on the 6th floor. It had wonderful views, spacious rooms, neat and clean. All the amenities are modern and the rooms are quiet. The hotel and hotel staff is friendly and knowledgable/helpful. We did not eat at the hotel but we did use it as a base to eat in the Octagon which is just a minute or two down the street by foot. It is a great location. We certainly would stay here again. We have stayed in other locations in Dunedin previously and this was by far one of our best experiences.

Good 3 star but no more. Stuffed up account and had to charge another $13 as we signed out. Not a money issue but you wonder if they did it on purpose to keep initial price at $200 for the night including vehicle parking? Rating overall OK.

Comfortable… very good customer service and near to almost everything. We traveled with kids. They loved it.

One day only at this hotel, loved everting about it, if at all the bathroom was a bit dated and no bathtub But huge rooms and facilities.

You guys made a very special effort to ensure my stay was as good as it could be following the problems with bookings last week. This in spite of the booking problem not even being your fault but that of the booking agent. A big thank you.

Lovely dinner and breakfast with good service. Nice room and free Wi-Fi. Centrally located. Best hotel on our tour of the South Island.

I stayed at the hotel for one night and bought valet parking for 24 hours. The next morning, when I didn't notice the need to lift the car, the hotel took the liberty of pulling my car out and parked at the door only to allow a 15-minute parking space, causing my car to be fined by police. I immediately and the hotel negotiations, the front desk staff confidently said that will go to the police negotiations, will not cause loss to me. But in the end not only I was fined, and after I returned to the hotel several times to send an e-mail, no longer contact. I feel cheated.

Good but could do with air conditioning at this time of the year. Lovely staff and facilities. Perfect location.

Staff on reception 27th Dec went out of their way to help. Refreshingly and lovely experience. Room nice and enormous.

Good hotel but the only thing was that it feels and looks a bit older. For the price it isn't too bad.

The hotel was great — we had a really pleasant suite with nice views over Dunedin. The staff were friendly and gave some of the best customer service I have had from hotels for a long time. The restaurant evening meal was good value and we'll presented.

Like a home away from home and so central to everything Dunedin has to offer in terms of shopping, bars and cafes, uncomplicated access to the Southern motorway (for the the airport and roads heading south) & easy access to the bay road heading to the Albatross colony. The team at the Scenic are relaxed, friendly and personable and nothing is a problem, which to me gives them a 10/10.

Loved the spacious room, the view and the fact that it was no problem to have the restaurant menu delivered to our room. Staff were excellent and nothing was a problem. Intend to re-book in December.

Large room, some update to room but could still be improved. Rooms by elevator or noise from mechanical and guest talking. Do not take room x01.

The room had a shower over the bath — I slipped, 10 days later I still have a large bruise. Didn't receive an apology just "most of our guest like the bath over the shower" I had no idea the room would have a shower bath certainly didn't say it would or give me the option of just a shower. Had to fill the electric jug with a jug that fitted under the tap in the bathroom. The bathroom was dated. The room was clean and the staff were delightful. It wasn't cheap I expected better.

Located in the city center, the room is spacious with a good view from its windows. Clean and neat. The staffs are also very helpfull and friendly. They give us a lot of information about the penguins :)

Enjoyed my stay here. Great location, great room, great staff. Only thing I didn't really like is parking is not included and charging guests $15.00 per day parking is too much in my opinion.

Great location, and close to all the shopping with very friendly staff. Our room had a beautiful view over Dunedin Harbor. Our bed was super comfy and the room was spotless. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Great stay. Perfect location. Stunning room with a view over the city. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was fresh and tasty. Will definitely come back!

30 year old mattress. No underlay in floor. Like walking on an uneven job site. Extremely outdated bathrooms… dont even have a simple heated towel rail? Especially in such a cold hotel/town. Overpriced and cheaply updated.

Not a nice experience paid 655.20 for 2 nigh, drinking coffe (room service) in to a paper cup… I seriously do not recommend this hotel.

Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is rather basic but clean and adequate.

Good sized, warm room, comfy bed, helpful staff. Good breakfast options. Nice dining room. Easy checkout. I had to rush, so just passed my keys to the desk staff and I was away. Good quality Wi-Fi. It didn't bother me, but although the TV was a good size it was a lo-def service. Seesm to be common in NZ. Good news is that it meant I didn't waste any time in front of the goggle-box.

After dropping in at five different motels in the Dunedin area, it came down to this one. The decision based on one question, due to an emergency. Do you know where the nearest paye phone is? These folks knew and provided accurate directions. Thankfully, the stay was excellent, beautiful view from the 6th floor overlooking the harbour, located withing walking distance of just about everything. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous, the room more than enough for my needs, and the breakfast was superb. Thanks to the staff of the Scenic for setting up the best weekend I've had in a long long time. "ahhh. The American. ".

This was my second visit to this hotel in recent months. Unfortuneately on both occassions I have been dissapointed with both my stays. The rooms are of a very decent size but the decor is old and the rooms have a 'musty like smell'. The matresses are reasonably comfortable, however I would not reccommend this hotel for honeymooners or the more discenring guest. The worst thing about both my stays is the heating. The hotel manager chooses to turn the heating off to ALL rooms at 11:30pm — Whether or not you have set it on. Duneden is relatively cold at the best of times but to have the heating turned off each night at 11:30pm is an outrage — The temperature drops very quickly and soon becomes cold. There is no warning that this will happen and it is up to you to call reception and ask to have it turned on. I had a chat with the duty manager and he confirmed that this was to cut costs. HOW CHEAP and VERY UNCOMFORTABLE if your awake after 11:30. Another thing to note is the rediculously high rates for in room internet. $29.99 for 24hrs and only a 100mb limit? Outrageous! Nearly all other hotels charge less than this for unlimited internet useage. Another reason why I will do my best not to book this hotel again. Stingy managers who dont value the comfort of their guests. On the plus side — Valet parking is cheap at $10.
