Stayed a few nights, close to restaurants and has parking. Good bunker beds and very clean. All round pretty good.

Really friendly staff, laundry facilities, great breakfast, bar next door is excellent, good parking, handy for most places.

Large dorms, four beds with one bunk and two single. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean and reception was friendly. Didn’t use the kitchens etc.

One of the nicest hostel I've stayed in here in NZ. Good quality beds. Showers are amazing! Kitchen is decent but a lot of free food as majority of people fly out of chch.

Wonderful hostel, we had a 4 bed dorm with two actual beds to ourselves, free hot chocolate, tea, coffee and milk. It was really good — nice and quiet and the staff were really helpful as well. I definitely recommend staying here if you want a budget but good accomodation. :)

Good hostel, great value for money. The lack of an actual lounge area is a bit of a bummer since it makes it harder to meet new people, but they do have a great TV lounge and pool table that attempts to make up for it!

My partner and I had a really nice stay for 1 night in a quiet and very comfortable double room (shared bathroom). The bathrooms/showers were high standard and very clean. Location is an easy 20 minutes walk outside the city centre and tucked away from the busy main road. Would highly recommend choosing All Stars Inn for your stay in Christchurch.

I love this place! Very clean, there’s four shower stalls and four toilet stalls on the first floor. There’s vending machines in the lobby with brochures. It’s only minutes away from the town itself 20 minutes. We got a nice private room with a king bed, which was nice. Receptions. Receptionist are very friendly! Also if you’re a tourist you should buy those outlet converters to charge your electronics as they don’t have the ones like in Canada/America.

Comfortable and pleasant in a quaint town.

The KITCHEN is a MESS! Very small, without windows to the outside and 30 degrees inside (literally) impossible to eat inside! The rooms and common places are very cute! The Wi-Fi is going very well until 7 or 8 PM there are a lot of people using it and is locked! The reception staff is quite incompetent! The laundry facilities and the pool is paid for with coins, and in reception they have never. The cleaning ladies very nice! The machines of coca cola, they charge more expensive if you pay with a card, a thing which does not warn you.

The equipment is OK overall but I advise you to opt for a short stay, it is a real factory, the kitchen is tiny compared to the number of rooms, one hears in the neighbors… it's OK but you can have better for the same price.

Very modern the beds are comfortable and the staff pleasant there is a bar-restaurant very well just a side 10min walk from the center.

The two-bed rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. The hotel is quietly located and easy to reach by bus from the airport.

Really nice area, lots if backpackers which was a great way to meet with new people. We booked an extra person in and hoped we'd get the 4 bed dorm to ourselves but they werent able to do that.

Stayed for one night after we landed in Christchurch before we picked our campervan up. Had an en suite twin room that was comfortable and had everything we needed to freshen up. Good location within 10mins walking distance of the city centre for food and drinks. Easy check in and out. Lots of backpackers. Good mixed crowd.

Good atmosphere, clean room, it is a little hot in summer, very good Wi-Fi, a room with two computers to surf the internet, the staff is present 24/7

Everything is really tidy. Every bed has its own power outlet. The Wi-Fi is good.

A very modern hostel with spacious rooms. Televisions with USB and HDMI connector as well as refrigerator in the room. Wi-Fi is free. Definitely recommended for a trip to Christchurch.

The rooms and shared facilities are clean and new, with spacious personal lockers and simple but modern furnishings. The 24-hour staff availability is nice. Expect a professional and hassle-free experience, but also without much character.

Nice place with clean and well maintained rooms. There is a common bathroom shared among all the rooms of a floor. But it is clean and has enough cabins. The staff were friendly and helpful.

All stars inn is located on Beale road a couple of kilometers from city center. The location is convenient and we could walk from city center to the hostel or take an uber though there are buses also available. The hostel has shuttle service arrangement to the airport and other activities which pick one up from the hostel premises for a reasonable charge almost same as uber or the public transportation. We booked 2 twin sharing private rooms, which were spacious enough and clean. The rooms were équipe with basic amenities and had access to common facilities like laundry room for other services. The bathrooms/toilets were shared and maintained very well. The breakfast was continental and not included in our package complimentarily. We arrived on a warm day and felt the centralised air conditioning in the rooms was not working or not effective enough. There were table fans provided in each room which helped a bit. There are no room service phone line in rooms, so a trip by stairs downstairs to the reception is needed for every concern the guests wish to have resolved. The staff was friendly and helpful and available 24x7 at the reception desk. The hostel is also has leisure activities like the pool table etc which are available at extra cost for one to play. We ked the hostel and I would definitely recommend it.

All good, but beds a bit wobbly.

I stayed for 7 nights in a 4 bed dorm ensuite, booked 6 weeks up front.
very nice setup for a hostel with fantastic Wifi but… They weren't capable of booking guests together into one room who are staying for a few nights. Nearly every night 3 new people were booked into the room. Arriving late, leaving early. Yay! … — no towels — receptionists refused to give me some "just for female dorms " advertised on homepage for ALL 4 beddorm ensuites — noise level outside after 10pm was insane — same in the morning: the busses parked right next to our dorm, people stood talking right in front of our door at 6.30am. — cleaners aren't really doing they're job: dust everywhere, no shampoo, carpet dirty — when booking make sure you're not staying in room 301. All the people arriving with a bus stand, wait and walk over your veranda.
nobody cares about privacy! It seems to be more like a 1 night stay hostel to catch a bus or plane.
sorry guys! nice idea of a hostel/ hotel but I was disappointed. Had definitely better ones for less money. all the best,

Well equipped, clean and hip. Unfortunately, inflexible as far as check-out time is concerned — 5 min more costs equal money.

Super good internet. Nice areas outside to chill out and the inside looks brand new.

The rooms were spacious, and each bed had an outlet, a shelf, and a light, which was extremely helpful. The kitchen has a great free food fridge which is definitely worth checking before you go to the supermarket! The location is a bit of a walk from the city center, but it's one of the best options in the area.

If you wanna sleep, go somewhere else! Definitely too noisy. We were 3 in a dorm and got woking up by the noise all night long with people smashing the doors from 1am to 7am. Then tried to sleep again but you have the cleaning ladies coming up and talking, moving the beds even the one you are on. They don't really care about you. Even the receptionist was kind of not nice. And my friend had to go several time to see them because the card to open the door is not working well. And there is no area to chilled apart the hallway and the kitchen which are very small. So if there are too much person they said we can used the outside tables. And what if it's cold or rainy? Seriously…

Stayed in a 4 bedroom ensuite. Very spacious and clean. Personal mini fridge and TV for the room. Lockers are large enough to hold a good portion of your luggage.

Stayed here with my 5 year old daughter in a double room without ensuite. Nice showers; warm rooms, quiet inside the hostel (even on a Saturday night). Bit of street noise from the boy racers but that wasn't all night and not at all the hostels fault. Modern rooms at a nice price — I was pleasantly surprised I could get something with a TV and tea and coffee; free Wi-Fi, access to netflix and a restaurant right next door for under $100. Would definately stay again.

I stayed at All stars Inn and the day staff were great. They helped with my booking and check out, then helped me to book the airport shuttle for the evening. I left my bags in storage, then went to enjoy the last day of my trip. When I came back at night and asked to retrieve my bags and wait for the shuttle in the lobby the night manager told me I was not allowed on hotel premises, at all. Despite having had help from the day staff to arrange my shuttle I was told to go outside, at 1am in the rain and wait on the street. I know the previous night others from my top deck tour had waited in the lobby without a booking, however apparently it was unacceptable for me to sit inside and wait quietly. If your flight is not immediately after check out, don't stay here. Rude night manager and poor poor customer service ruined the end of my trip.

Really nice hostel/hotel. Rooms are new and very clean. Make sure to check out Thai container down the street for real good inexpensive thai food.

Rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. We were in a double. Only one reading light, outlets only on one side of bed, windows don't open, frig audible. Restaurant next door breakfast through dinner, otherwise nothing in the area. I prefer downtown lodging.

I like All Stars Inn because it has the good facilities. The rooms are clean. You will love it if you stay here!

There are only 2 things I want in my hostel stay: To meet cool new people and get a good nights rest. This hostel is terrible for both of these. On my first arrival I talked to the reception staff, maybe they are over worked or underpaid but they were extremely unfriendly, bordering on hostile. There are about 4 guys to every girl here, the people are unfriendly and this place has a very uneasy vibe. I tried to sleep but the beds are very small and uncomfortable, the door opens right onto my bed and the rooms are so hot and stuffy I could barely breathe. I am definitely not going to stay here again, better to spend $100 on a hotel at least I could have got a comfortable sleep.

Stayed here for 2 days, ended up booking alternate accommodation elsewhere for next nights. The beds are terrible, you will have to fold your legs if you are 6ft (183cm) or over. The place reeks of cigarette smoke and a fetid smell. I was informed by the staff that "There is no ventilation, or air-conditioning or windows, The only way to air the rooms is to open the door leading to front driveway" (which of course means anyone could just enter your room. I commented that that its quite shocking that 8 people were crammed into a very small room with no ventilation. She mocked me and my friend despite our friendly tone. And refused to help in any way. I would be happy to give the hostel higher ratings if there were other redeeming features. But there are none, its not particularly clean, Its not a safe place to sleep. Many of other tenants here are thugs. There is a very high ratio of males to females and there is advertising material everywhere. 1 star — would not recommend. Save yourself the hassle and book at one of the other many great hostels in Christchurch.

A bit outside the city centre, but that would be the only point of criticism!

Amazing value for money, everyhif was realy clean, flat screen telle in our double room with Netflix and comfy King size bed. Tea coffee, hot chocolate, kettle and fridge in the room which was a nice change from staying in dorms for the previous 3 weeks! About 15 mins walk from the centre but it was easy and one straight road to the main park, museum and botanical gardens. If your a traveller I'm sure you wouldn't mind the walk. Also got an real ale pub right next door which was handy ;) definately come back to this place again if we return to Christchurch and highly reccommend it.

Ingenious hostel, for $37 you can stay in a quadruple room with bathroom and toilet, terrace and TV. It has right next to a really good restaurant. Friendly service. I can recommend unconditionally.

My wife and I flew into Christchurch at 1am the other night and we were really pleased with the friendly service we received when we arrived at All Stars around 2am. We had a double room booked and it was amazing! The room was spacious, well equipped, and clean. And I loved the big ensuite bathroom and shower! A great place at an affordable price. I'd stay again and recommend to friends.
