The girl in the desk was very rude to me this morning. We had been waiting for our car for quite a while so I cheaked to make sure it was comimg. I was very polite. She said yes it is… and as I walked away she said to her colleague no, no its not jokingly. I found this very unprofessional. Once our car was delivered the staff member didn't even acknowledge us. Just got out the car and walked away. Really disappointing service! The night staff were very good and the room was also nice.

Great hotel, near the centre of town.

We were here overnight to celebrate our anniversary. The room was very comfortable and the bottle of white delightful. Full amenities including a cooktop and oven. We slept well. The bathroom was big. The aircon needed to be on as there were no windows to open and it was quite loud. We weren’t able to dine at the Hippo restaurant for dinner, but ended up in Hot Sauce which was a good alternative. We had a nice breakfast which would only have been better if the coffee had been fresh not filter … the food was very nice and the staff attentive without overdoing things. A lovely place to stay.

1st time staying in the smaller rooms. Lovely Hotel. But we found the rooms door bang closed, also more ATD as we didn’t have any spare toilet paper rolls and had to ring for some at 7am Sunday morning.

QT Wellington is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be near the waterfront and close to everything. With a friendly staff and a wonderful art collection you will be transported to a different world when you stay here.

There are so many features of this hotel that are just fabulous and make it feel really special yet there are also things that make it feel tired and cheap. Broken kitchen cabinets. Water damaged bathroom joinery. Cups and Decor items with price tags still attached.
We visited only for the night and certainly enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we got a deal but would not pay the general price.

We ordered two gin and tonics and were asked if we wanted doubles, which we said yes to because they’re standard in most bars. Went to pay as we left and was charged $64! For Hendricks! Queried the charge on the night and via social media and was told this is correct. Won’t be going back, and have told my story to everyone — $64 for two G&Ts!

A beautiful hotel full of amazing artwork! Centrally located on the scenic Wellington waterfront. It’s walking distance to most of the cities main attractions. Wellington is a city made for strolling through. This hotel is made to enjoy!

They charged for breakfast without telling me. And it was included in my booking. I am still waiting for a respond and a credit return on that.
Also late checkout was included too however they didn’t allow me to use it as they told me they were fully booked. Laundry dirty bags all over the hall everyday that I stayed there.

Quirky artsy boutique hotel in the heart of Wellington. Not easy to operate and maintain standard with skeleton staffing esp during challenging time. Would appreciate if disposable slippers were supplied. Very satisfied with room service, delicious and prompt. Keep it up!

Lovely room but it wasn't ready at check in and we were subsequently messed around for two hours. Better communication would really have helped.

Good location. Interesting hotel with comfy bed but housekeeping needs work. Arrived at almost 5pm and room wasn't ready! then found full kitchen bin rubbish not emptied. The next day room still wasnt tidied by almost 4pm and the opened pack of cotton buds were thrown out still half full and was not replaced! little annoying things but other than that wasn't a bad stay.

Spent the night of my birthday here. Cool decor, friendly and efficient staff, well appointed rooms. It was a special birthday, and they made it even more special with a room upgrade with a great view and late checkout. We arrived back from dinner to find champagne and chocolates in the room! Thanks QT hotel.

I don’t usually do this, but QT Wellington is an amazing hotel and it’s character, charm and artfulness is a huge part of our trip. An experience in and of itself and highly recommended for anyone travelling to Wellington!

Lovely and quiet, centrally located, friendly staff.

When I messaged the hotel to let them know that people were in their accessible car parks with no permits, the response I got was “I have spoken to the staff on site and they assure me it’s okay as there is another park around the back” It’s not okay, no permit no park.

Went to high tea today, very disappointed with the service. Felt the waitresses treated us differently to the other tables in many ways from the start to the end. Shame on you High Tea of QT. But the Lobby front desk was amazing. Never go back again.

Check in was good and efficient, friendly. Very nice vibe to the lobby (which has some great artwork we spent time looking at later). The room was great, if not large, and worked really well. Plenty of electrical sockets well positioned, good Wi-Fi, comfortable bedding, and a great bathroom, plus a spacious furnished balcony. Smallish gripe: our “Harbour View King” on the first floor offered a view of trees, a bit of the Museum, and a few yacht masts. Lesson: ask for a hig…h floor room when booking I guess. A big plus for the property is its great location for harbour front walking, the museum, Cuba Street/restaurants, and just a15-20 minutes stroll to Lambton Quay shopping. Loved that! BIG GRIPE: On checkout, I had to pay a surcharge for using my credit card. The only place in the world in a large hotel chain where this happens is in New Zealand and Australia. I've experienced it before, so QT is not alone in this sin. It's not the actual amount of money that irritates me, but the principle of it. If you are a local, you can always pay by EFTPOS, but as a foreigner you really have no choice unless you carry oodles of cash around with you. And non-city hotels in NZ don't do it… this was the only hotel booking where I was levied a credit card surcharge in a month's travel in the country. Why do they do this? The smaller hotels that DON'T surcharge probably have to pay a larger commission to the banks than the big chains do, so WHY?

Let’s not tell people on your website you have scaffolding affecting your harbour views. I’m just thankful I’m not staying during the week when they are working. 2 free drinks vouchers doesn’t make up for it. Staff as always are lovely & the only thing good about this hotel. If you don’t maintain & check your Nespresso machines give us the plunger back.

Such a beautiful place! We were staying over night with our 4 month old and were upgraded so her bed fit nicely. Staff were so amazing. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here on two separate occassions. One of the most unique deco styles we ever saw. Staff was super nice and friendly, we got a bottle of champagne waiting for us in the room (we just got married on the day). Very good memories here. The hotel, rooms, lobby were very good, clean and well maintained. If we ever come back to Wellington, this is where we are going to stay.

Really can't fault anything about this place. Staff are particularly pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself serves up little surprises at every turn. The Hippopotamus restaurant continues all of the above and then adds some of the finest fare you will find in Wellington.

What an amazing place! Fun, arty yet sophisticated decor. Perfect location in city, within walking distance of everything. Our room was perfect, cannot fault anything! As for the service… the staff were excellent, with just the right mix of friendly and professional. I will defintely be staying there again and recommend it to anyone coming to Wellington.

I love this place. I visit often with work and I am never disappointed. The staff are what makes this place so special. I love the way they know your name and your likes and dislikes. I would never stay anywhere else.

This is a real nice hotel in the centre of the city. Great welcome in and a nice check in process too. Nice mix of relaxed, semi formal and forms. Liking the art works too. Would recommend to everyone to give the place a go, it's worth the money.

This is one of the nicest hotels in Wellington that takes pride in excellence right through to the smallest of details. It has a unique atmosphere with a fascinating art collection scattered throughout. The location is fantastic, located opposite Te Papa and a short stroll to the waterfront and all the cafes, restaurants and bars on Courtenay Place.

So pretty and cool. The art is modern and tasteful. The rooms are OK. The beds are a bit saggy in the middle and pretty poor pillows the layout of the 2br room was strange and could use a reconfigure. Nice hotel and good locale.

Although, on the exterior this place looks outstanding, it lacks heart. To the staff working here, its just a job. The reception staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience just for checking in and out. No smiles or warmth. The door to our room and the bathroom looked like something from the youth hostel down the road — shaky and tired with paint chips. The bathroom didn't feel that clean. The stairwell felt like a service entrance and not suitable for a hotel charging $200+ per night. The barman and bar were suburb. Overall a mediocre experience for such an upmarket establishment.

Great hotel stay at this amazing hotel — attentive staff, helpful with booking some tours around town, and clean amenities. Well stocked bar/cafe, awesome art work in the lobby itself. The room was clean, looked after, and everything worked as you expect it to. On the waterfront os it was great to be able to just walk out, cross the road and go for a run. The one down side was the construction work with scaffolding all over the facade, but there was no undue noise, and it didn't really detract from the stay. Would look into staying here again when I'm back in Wellington.

A very good hotel in the heart of Wellington. A brilliant room, more like a one room apartment, high up, so good views and quiet. Easy access to all central attractions. Restaurant out of action for refurbishment so ate out. Downside of location, no grounds to relax in and $30 per night parking.

I love this hotel. I also love Hippopotamus the restaurant attached. It is super comfy. Great amenities in the room. Oven, stove top, fridge, dish washer, washing machine and all crockery and cutlery. Lovely friendly staff and I love the art around the place. It's so close to everything too. Would recommend anyone coming here. I will be back.

We celebrated our 10 year Vow renewal in the Billiards Room and Camille and Florent were amazing with details and communication with us, as we live in Palmerston North. Our food was incredible, Wine was gorgeous and the wait staff were the shining heroes of our night they all made us so comfortable and took such excellent care of us. Thank you all for helping make such wonderful memories for us and our family and the new guy who was on a trial that night ‘John’ was super awesome he’d be an absolute asset to the Hotel Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and off the top of my head.

The hotel is large and the rooms are nicely renewed. The room was always clean. Small pool and sauna as well as fitness area.

QT Museum hotel, formerly known as Museum Hotel has recently renovated. It is upscale very Arty kind of accommodation. Location is right across the National Museum Te-Papa, which is said to be one of the best in southern hemisphere. Service quality is also very good.

Room is clean, there is a small mini kitchen in the room and provided a lot of cooking materials as well as cutlery and the bed is very comfortable. The location of the place is very good. There are a lot of restaurants near the area and Te Papa Museum which is really nice. The service of the place is good with friendly staff. The hotel is quite small compared to other hotels. But still, it is a nice experience.

Great, upscale, modern and quirky hotel, right in the center of town opposite the national museum. Lots of art to look at throughout! Our room was modern and well kept. Only had the one night there in Wellington but would have happily stayed for longer.

Nice hotel, classic QT style, the reception and common areas are very nice. BUT the parking is a bit of a pain, no on site parking, the concierge drive way is blocked so you have to wait until they come out and let you in, and there's no actual sign that says QT Concierge… I found the lady at check out to provide bare minimum service and just always wanted to send me to talk to someone else rather than her just helping me (and it was not busy). Oh by the way parking is $30 per night… as this info is hard to find online anywhere. The rooms are small, very small actually. And while they are well appointed I wish they had fully renovated the bathrooms also, bathrooms bring the place down a bit. I do kind of wish I stayed some where else to be honest.

My new home away from home! Loved my bed! Loved the endless art works and styles. Service and hospitality was top notch. Food… soooo good! (French cuisine)

I’m staying here at this moment. So far the remotes for TV had no batteries. Now they do one out of the 2 TV works. The housekeeping when I came back to my room today had left one of their clean cloths on the floor. All the bath room amenities were empty in my room apart from the shampoo.
Yesterday when I checked into the hotel I had booked 2 rooms and the 2nd room I had my friends were staying in the bath still had water in it from the cleaners and the sink had to be re cleaned.
This is the 3rd QT I have stayed in and so far the worst. The hotel is funky but it has been let down badly by housekeeping. I am an Executive housekeeper and would be ashamed to think that my supervisors were letting rooms be given back and not keeping up the standard. Also I would be shocked that room attendants could think that it would be alright to leave dirty water in sink and bath tub.
I would think twice about recommending this
Hotel for friends and colleagues to stay at in the future or stay here myself.

Beautifully appointed room and furnishings. The abundant mirrors on the wall take some getting used to but gives the illusion of space. There is a well stocked mini bar and, a first for me, a Nespresso machine compete with coffee pods. The hotel features an eclectic mix of art, sculpture and music and the golden hippopotamus out the front is amazing. Highly recommended.

Great location next to Te Papa and downtown! Rooms are very clean and the apartment living is top of the line. Valet service is great too.

Really great hotel. I am staying in one of the apartment units for about 2 weeks and so far it has been fantastic. The gym / pool / hot tub facilities are super clean and of high quality. The room I have is very comfortable with good lighting, a clean and big bathroom, as well as decent quality kitchen utilities such as coffee / stovetops / oven. The hotel is very fancy in the lobby and if you appreciate art you will love the atmosphere.

Stayed here for my last night in Wellington before heading off overseas, wish I'd stayed two nights! Such a lovely hotel, fantastic amenities, great environment and friendly staff. 5 stars will be back! (Even though I live in Wellington hehe)

Fantastic service from the moment I stepped out of the taxi. Very cool vibe. Standard, smallish room, but beautifully appointed. Room service from Hippopotamus restaurant was absolutely delicious and I'm looking forward to breakfast in the restaurant. Linen, towels, mattress etc are all excellent. Very pleased with my choice of hotel. Will stay here again.

I booked a 2 nights stay for my mum and her partner, as a gift for her 60th birthday. I also arranged a voucher to use in the restaurant.
They were extremely happy with their stay. Very friendly and helpful staff, very nice renovated room (they were impressed with the bathroom) and delicious dinner.
I was very happy to know that they had a bottle of bubbly waiting in their room for the occasion. Very nice attention.

A stylish abode in Wellington. Art pieces adorn the lobby and restaurant and set this wonderful hotel apart from the standard chain hotels. The rooms are spacious and are presented with eclectic style. Great location by the bay, with many restaurants within walking distance. A must stay when in Wellington if you want to try something a little out of the ordinary.

I went in with friends for High Tea and it was… "Um, but? Yeah. " were the words most commonly used to describe our experience after. The setting in Hippopotamus is stunning. The view! The chairs! The chandeliers! It's all High Class and quirky and fun! Our Waitress was sweet, but largely absent. As I wasn't the first to arrive — I was gestured vaguely at my table and left to seat, and pour water for myself as was our latest arrival. ~10minutes after our final member arrived the Waitress brought out the menus and we ordered in due time. Luke warm tea was brought in beautiful teapots fair quickly, followed by the uninspiring stand and, eventually, the drinks. Given the Hippopotamus' reputation for fine dining — I was disappointed at the number of shop-bought pastry cases on the stand. Tea was brought around at long-staggered intervals, and only the last cup was properly hot. The Waitress was happy to serve me a different flavour of tea for my third cup — but I had to ask, as it wasn't suggested. All in all, I had great company in an amazing setting with average service and disappointing food. I'll go back to try the dinner menu — but I'll pass on the High Tea Service for now.

Unique and interesting hotel. Rooms are about right for the money. Shouldn't have to pay for Wi-Fi at somewhere of this price range. Also reception staff were a bit variable. Would come back but probably only if we got a good deal.

Stayed here one Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. the reception was nice, arty as expected. the room was alright, lovely hot drinks selection (and a nespresso machine), bed was comfy. bathroom needed some repairs, and couldn't run a bath. room service breakfast was fine. staff were helpful and friendly enough. not sure if we'd bother staying here again though.

The perfect location for a weekend in the capital of a boozy night out in courtenay place. Amazing decor that makes a great backdrop for fashion photoshoots and for weddings. I've used this location many times when photographing Wellington weddings. Von Photography.

Of all the NZ hotels and motels I stayed in over a two week period, this one was the most expensive, yet the most disappointing! There were no "harbour views" only car park views — we also got stuck on the first floor looking directly onto cars (and noise)! Everywhere else had free Wi-Fi, yet this hotel (as expensive as it was) didn't. $20 per day to park your car? All my other hotels were free! Far too many mirrors in the bathroom, my god, you'd have to be a super model to look good in there with those mirrors and lighting! $5 for a bath ball — what a rip off! On our final night we stayed at The Shepherds Inn, Wellington, great pub, great grub and great atmosphere (free Wi-Fi, free parking and no silly concierge).
