I took a friend who was visiting Hawkes Bay to East Pier for brunch this morning. Very quiet, only 2 other people were dining outside, a beautiful day. We were told to go and find a seat and they'd bring menus and a drinks list out to us. We waited 15 minutes and no staff appeared, so we walked out. This used to be my favourite place to dine out, but the service or lack thereof is appalling and it's certainly gone downhill in recent years. Shame.

Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order after being seated, still no one came so we went inside and girls were just talking behind the bar. Ordered eggs benny. Bacon was black/burnt. Un eatable. Eggs overdone. No spinach which should be on a typical eggs benny! Very disappointing at $22.

Wonderful place near the South Pacific Ocean.

Where do I start… the food is define, fresh, flavorful and amazing. The staff should be praised as they are so lovely and helpful and accommodating. No request was too much for them.

Sometimes a little slow. But over all pleasant and well worth the visit super views of of ocean.

Beautiful location on the waterfront. The staff are incredibly friendly and lovely. Also the food is fantastic!

We have stayed there many times in there family unit they are nice but not worth the 340 to $369 a night. Then to top it off they charge you to use your credit card. Parking is a lucky dip we have had to park on the road. This would be the most expensive hotel in Napier and is not 5 star. After our last visit we will not stay again.

Great hotel for loads of reasons — on the shore (personally I prefer staying this end of town), all the rooms have water views and balconies. The rooms are modern, clean and large. Plenty of parking and the staff are efficient and lovely. East Pier Is my regular spot for my Hawkes Bay travels!

If your looking for a place to hold your next event, look no further. The team here goes above and beyond to accommodate any event your planning. The food is Great, and the staff are awesome, super friendly and ready to help. The accommodation is top notch. And the views are breathtaking. We had guests from all over nz, and they were blown away.

We have eaten here several times with good experiences however, today not the best. Seems food and drink prices have gone up but, (not value for money). Also, drinks order was forgotten.

Was here for a workshop. Lovely setting looking out onto sea. There were about 100 people in our workshop and wasn't over crowded. Morning tea provided with selection of teas and instant coffee. Scones were beautiful. Easy parking, clean restrooms. Housekeeping were doing the rooms as we were walking past and they look lovely also.

Lovely meal and they adjusted it to accomodate my dietary requirements without losing the flavour. Good, group dining room. Would go there again.

Awesome place for a drink or to stay with a top of the line function centre it caters for all type of functions.

Birthday lunch there this week returned after a two year no go and was just as disappointed. 25 mins to get a glass of water, and to take food and drink order, received drink with meal had to ask again for it, food ok, service 0 out of 5. No next time!

Friendly staff. Close to great restaurants and bars. Swimming beach close by. I thought the breakfast was overpriced and bland.

Over priced for the meal size. Barely able to accommodate gf and df let alone vegan. The menu instead of indicating vegan was indicating vegetarian. Very poor. Great view tho. Was nice sitting outside.

Room had a nice view, free Wi-Fi, parking provided. I was disappointed with a few things, the day we checked in, we found a chipped drinking glass. The vent in the bathroom was disgusting and most importantly we were told to check out earlier then what our itinerary suggested (I had requested a late check out). It is, however, in a good location. I believe the restaurant isn’t the best (very limited menu), I preferred another nearby restaurant to this. However, the restaurant staff are amazing.

New Years morning breakfast. Bagels with bacon egg and tomatoe. Very moorish. Coffee great. Staff friendly. Service excellent. Highly recommend. Will be back.

The room was clean and tidy, staff were pleasant to deal with. This is in walking distance to a few nice restaurants, and also has a great view of the water.

KAN knitting retreat last weekend in august. Be there or be square… rego opens may 1st… places limited.

Not good I'm afraid. Limited menu, simple but difficult to make GF. Couldn't eat there! Usually I can find something adaptable in cafes, not here.

I recently stayed here while on business. This is a fabulous place to stay and I will definitely be back. My room had expensive views of the water, a deck and the most comfy bed I've experienced recently. I slept like a baby. Room service was a great added touch and every meal I had was fantastic.

Grab a bite to eat at the hotel's restaurant, which features a bar, or stay in and take advantage of room service (during limited hours). Quench your thirst with your favorite drink at a bar/lounge. Breakfast is available for a fee.

We have just travelled the length of the North Island and East Pier is by far the best accommodation we experienced. The room was very comfortable and immaculately clean, the bathroom glistened. The location at Ahuriri is just fantastic, great ocean vistas, cool boutique shopping and great dinning. The food at East Pier is very good and enjoyable. The staff are very friendly and clearly take pride in their hotel. … My ratings are… Location… 5/5

Very nice hotel. Ultra modern rooms that are a stones throw from the beach and the main street.

The food for its cost is quite too much, but the plating was nice; unfortunately, the taste was average. It was a good meal, but there are some restaurants that would has great taste with cheaper/same prices. The view was great though!

I always enjoy my stay, the room is clean bed you don't want to get of! Wonderful view quiet staff always helpful. Wish I could stay longer than just 1 night at a time. Our crew lunches much appreciated.

Our family had a lovely time at East Pier over the weekend. We sat on the deck, enjoyed a yummy platter and a couple of wines while the kids played right in front of us on the beach — everybody won! Great family restaurant.

Today was our second wedding anniversary and knowing that the food and customer service has been so good previously, we decided to go there for lunch. When we arrived we asked if we could have some help to which the woman we spoke to replied, "What do you need help with? " We said the door and she said "I didn't know what you needed help with". I am a 37 year old man confined to a wheelchair, so naturally, doors are a problem for me to get through. We went to sit outside and we requested a table out of the sun with an umbrella and we were told that they only had one umbrella, and that we would have to move out of the sun if in fact we thought we were getting burnt. We ordered our meals, one omelette for me which was full of onion, and a plate of nachos for my wife which looked like it was swimming in fat. All up the service was appalling, and the bill was way over priced, $76.50 When my wife asked to get some money out for our return taxi of $10 the lady said "I don't have enough in the till, doesn't the taxi carry eftpos" My wife said, "no they don't", so she was then told that she would have to walk down the road to the nearest shop. The woman who served us was Jimmaima and we're not sure if she was the manager, or just a waitress, but we are far from happy with the service We unfortunately will not be returning to East Pier.

Pay twice the price for under average food. Both mains we ordered were bad, paying $50 for a steak you would expect something interesting. It was burnt on the outside yet still leaking blood even though it was 'well done'

Wait staff are friendly and attentive. The views are great and the surrounding area is very nice. Decor is nice. However, the food is overpriced for what it is. There is very little depth to flavour and it seems to be made with an uninspired hand. Better place to go for nachoes and a drink than sit-down dinner.

We had breakfast on the Saturday. The young staff were fabulous. Unfortunately the same could not be said for the Maori lady and the lady in the floral top at the bar. Dreadful service and sloppy manners. I don't expect a waitress to reach over me when another can quite happily go around me to serve the person next to me. Coffees lukewarm. Lunch on Sunday. Why oh why? A friend had a voucher to use. Pizzas with very little topping — didn't even reach the end of the pastry. Below average service with one of us exchanging a dirty plate and another a dirty glass. And to hear the older Maori waitress yelling from the deck to the lady in the floral top at the bar — disgusting! Will not return and will not be recommending!

Nice spot and outlook. The food was average for the price and I won't be going back in a hurry.
