Loved our stay there since Friday, loved how cleaned it was, staff yesterday amazing, great for our little party of 4 the bed aaah comfy as. Hubby enjoyed the pool specially after completing Iron Maori. The room cute and convenient would I recommend absolutely I would. Thank you for accommodating us we loved it.

Wonderful fun friendly hosts, the room was beautiful with a lot of nice touches. Exceeded our expectations. Look forward to coming back. Next time I’ll let you know in advance Gary so I can hold you to that home made Glaswegian Curry. Highly recommend this motel, it’s our new favourite place to stay in Napier.

Lovely rooms, great location, ran by a fellow Scot who has great info on local places to eat. Stunning views across the water.

Very clean and Family orientated — kids were so disappointed the pool wasnt heated as stated! We booked here because of this. A part from that affordable and all you need.

Excellent staff service, best lamb rib dish ever. Small double bed was horrendously small I couldn't even Unpack case as there was. So little floor space. Bathroom stank of drains.

We have driven through Napier but never actually stayed there, so this time we decided to spend a night. The room we stayed in was absolutely superb even down to the little touches like the fancy folded towels, the whole place very clean & fresh.
Both owners Gary & Jo are very friendly & went out of their way to tell us of the different things to see & do whilst in Napier.
Our experience here was the complete opposite of our stay the night before in Rotorua.
Well done guys your hard work & customer focus was exceptional, so a big Thank You! From both Lee & myself.

I was put up at the Albatross by Jetstar due to cancelled flight, it was last minute and close to mid night, however the moteliers couldn't have been more hospitable, and the room was very clean and tidy and had a good feel about it. I would have no hesitation recommending it to travellers.

Spacious rooms, wonderful staff and services were awesome. Car park just in front of the room were lot helpful. Will come back again.

First we were promised that we should bring the dog. Was then no longer desired. Everything else clean and spacious. A little expensive. Right on the road, so from 2 o'clock traffic noise.

Wow it’s a quaint Hotel, The owners are wonderful and so delightful; they are caring to the guests, even to the point where they even walk you to your room. I’ve been to many a hotels in my life time and this is the first hotel that caters for guests who actually don’t drink coffee or tea, they had hot choc which was yum as well. A great place, and I know I’ll be coming back here when I visit again that’s for damn sure… cheers ; Don’t forget a Friendly smile and Awesome customer service …

We had a magical three nights there. We love the Art Deco scene & this is the perfect place to stay in Napier. Great hosts.

Staff are super friendly and eager to help… Rooms are presented well and very clean. Would recommend to anyone. I will be coming back to stay if I am passing through again or wanting a longer stay in future.

I enjoyed my stay. My room is pretty quite and the staff very helpful. A lot of people staying here with some coming and going so would expect more noise really. I was made to feel at home with anything that I should need simply through request. I would stay again should I be up this way. Shayne.

Awesome hosts, great warm and comfortable room, very clean and well looked after. Even organised dinner after a long day on the road. I stay in a lot of motels and would highly recommend staying here.

Friendly hosts, accommodation was clean and comfortable. Very hot room in Summer, could do with air conditioning.

The recent visit to the Albatross was to say the least disappointing. The curtains could not be pulled as the curtain rail was buckled. There was no hot water to wash up with. When I asked for this to be looked at the suggestion was to leave it to the staff. We stayed in a pet friendly unit which did have some dog odour coming from the carpet. There was also dog exriment outside that I ended up picking up.

Gary and Jo we're great! Good clean room with kitchenette really close to the airport. Would definitely recommend.

Very clean warm and comfy. The friendliness of the staff is excellent. The presentation of the motel at first glance tells me how clean it is… I would very much recommend you stay here so you would need to get in fast for Xmas holidays… enjoy!

Jo is an amazing owner/hostess who went above and beyond for our stay after a terrible time at another hotel. I can't thank you enough Jo for the tremendous service and just all round loveliness you showed us last night. I will definitely recommend people stay there and I will be back again!

New owners were telling me about there plans putting in a kitchen and dinning area with a bar be awesome having every thing on site being a truck driver.

First and second night were fine. Third night I get a knock at my door from some unknown person telling me to move my car (that was parked in the rooms designited carpark). Was a bit confused until a lady approached me saying she was the new owner and that she needed the space for a furniture truck. The first guy was the furniture remover… She told me to park in a free space around the corner (this was more of an instruction than a kind request). So I did… then close to 9pm I'm relaxing in bed when I get another knock on my door. This time I'm told, by another person, that I've taken another customers parking space… :/. So I get dressed go around the corner and there's the other tenant's clearly very unimpressed having not been told why I was parked there. I've never once stayed in a 4 star motel where the shower barely works having extremely low pressure and running on an antiquated European heating system. To make it worse they failed to empty our rubbish bin and chose not to give us any new toilet paper or tissues… I've stayed in numerous hotels / motels around the country and I can quite comfortably say that this should be classified as a 3 at best. Upon leaving the new owner or new employee didn't bother to ask us how our stay was and appeared more interested in taking our money. Positives were that they made our bed, put the dishes away, have great Wi-Fi, decent selection of Sky channels and the location of the motel is pretty good.

Comfy little apartment close to ocean and estuary. Service is great. We were even able to bring our little dog.

Great location Great owners Great place. We enjoyed our stay here in the very comfortable rooms. Friendly staff make for a great first impression the rooms are tidy clean and the location is great it's out of the main hub but close enough that a 2min drive takes you tall the main city center. The pools are clean there is Sky TV (and not the basic version either which is nice) they have free Wi-Fi. We highly recommend this place will be back for sure.

In response to review 13 August from the business owner. We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay at our motel. In September we replaced all of our shower systems with new, hot, strong and easy to use systems that are not affected by very cold outdoor water temperatures, as the old system was prone to doing. We are a little puzzled about the extra charge, we can only suspect that someone thought the processed payment of $90 was incorrect, as the room rate was $99 and then charged the difference, with out being aware that a discount had been given. We do sincerely apologise for this error. We try our best to make sure we supply good service at all times, it is important to us that our guests are happy.

I would not say this motel is 4 stars. There was no hot water for a shower. They have a European style water heating system. Where you are expected to fiddle with the shower for several minutes to get hot water. It didn't work for me (in a week when it was snowing). The agreed room rate was $99. When I checked out and complained about the lack of hot water, they charged me $90. The next day they added another $9 to my credit card (which I did not approve). I am not impressed.
