Standard bed and nice staff. Perfect for a bed for the night.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and wouldn’t recommend. I booked a twin room with a private bathroom as we did NOT want to share — upon arriving we discovered the toilet didn’t work properly so told a member of staff immediately, who said he would let the boss know and get it fixed. After we came back from being out in in the city all day, the toilet STILL wasn’t fixed so we told the same staff member the following morning, who acted shocked and claimed he would message the ‘boss’ again. Days went by and nothing happened so we had to use the shared one (you can only imagine the state of it). The walls are paper thin so you can literally hear everything from the rooms nearby, including snoring. It didn’t feel like a clean place and my friend even woke up with bites on her body.
The only plus was the beds were very comfy, the Wi-Fi worked at least and it was very central so no need for trams etc.
Don’t stay here! Spend a bit more and stay somewhere nice.

I paid 30, — € p. P. / night, but a small room with about 20 sqm (total 6 occupied beds in the room), a spindle, a toilet of 2sqm and a shower of 4sqm (for the floor) was available. The curtains were mouldy. The bunk beds were clean and tidy.

Located in the center, you can walk around the city without means and you can quickly walk from the central station. Challenging stairs and really small rooms. Perfect for low-cost travel with friends, not recommended for families and couples.

Took our money cancelled our room then wouldn’t let us have room despite having space. So theft, basically. Had to cancel trip as mum rushed into hospital, room was for my friend, hotel didn’t care said leave a review of it’ll make your mum feel better. Nasty.

Very littel room for six people but afordable and justo nex to the central station.

For the love of all things holy do not stay here if you can avoid it! The people at reception are very nice and helpful but beyond that, this hostel was one of the worst I've stayed in. The room was so cramped you couldn't walk past the person next to you, the lockers didn't work and the room smelled, not to mention the horror that was the bathroom. We switched hostels after one night.

Cheap and central sure. It's a 1 star hostel so I didn't expect much. But the rooms wasn't even cleaned properly when we arrived. We had stains on the walls, doors and floor. A mouse or rat visited us 2 out of 4 nights (we complained and asked for help and a guy came with a flashlight and checked under our beds, since the rat ofc ran away he couldn't do anything and just told us "it happens"). We booked a room for 8 ppl with a private bathroom. The bunk beds was really cramped in there so the space you can move around on and organize your stuff on is very limited! Also there is no air conditioning/electrical fans whatsoever, so let me just say it gets very humid and unpleasant during hot or rainy days, especially after the shower has been used. The photos of the renovated rooms and bathrooms looks fresh and nice but I guess most of the rooms doesn't look like that at all. At least the sheets were clean and looked fresh. The towels, clean yes, but half of them looked like someone had used them while bleaching their hair or something. Also, you will have to ask for shower towels as you only get small ones upon arrival (the bigger ones are also included in the price).

We stayed a million floors up and they were deathly steep (as is normal in the Dam). Our room was tiny but fitted our needs. In fact, it made the trip more memorable and fun than if we weren't all bungled together! We slept comfortably every night. The shared bathroom and shower on the floor was always clean. I needed to print some boarding passes as well and wasn't charged for doing so. All in all a pleasant stay.

Great hostel for two or three nights, not more. The prices are low but you get enough for the money you spent. The architecture is also amazing — you get a real Amsterdam experience in there! Staff is very nice and helpful. The hostel is in walking distance to any part of the city, and if you don't want to walk, a tram stop is right in front of the entrance :)

I had called a day prior and asked specifically if I could check in early, the lady said “no worries it’s open 24 hours. ” They will spill some B. S. About how you can “Check In” your bags but not to your room until 2 pm. Aside from being no help at all the guy was very rude and kept insisting I had misunderstood. Stay away from this place.

Correct but really for young people. Noisy, a little dirty in common, showers and toilets common. But bed linen and bath towels provided. Wholesale Plus: 24-hour reception. And finally not too expensive to stay in Amsterdam and very well located.

Rooms are a bit cramped but they are clean.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The shower and toilet are also clean.
All in all value for money top.

It was OK overall.

Right in the city center. Public transport just at the front door. And all the attractions are in a range of a few miles. Or start at front door. (Royal Palace, Madame Tussaud's, Dam Square). Very low budget accommodation for a premium location. Showers and toilets could be cleaner.

Budget rooms, clean and adequate, has a cafe attached, stairs are very steep and not very wide, bathroom facilities were 10/10 cannot fault this place, €20 deposit for each room key. Has a room for suitcase to be stored upon checkout, so you can enjoy your trip till you leave.

Stairs are steep but that's the rooms are well priced for what you get.

Sufficient if you're a seasoned backpacker. But like most places this region, the stairs are a killer.

Incredibly small rooms. One member of staff was very rude at the front desk. Second star is for location. Third star is because if you use it literally for a bed it is fine.

This is actually not a hotel. It's a hostel that charges way too much for what they're providing you. Their listing was, in my opinion, false advertisement. The two front desk workers I interacted with were rude and assumed I knew information about their procedures that I would have no way of knowing unless I had been there before. Personally, I wouldn't recommend wasting your money here.

Hotel staff abused my autistic son Paul verbally and physically. He called me just now in tears from his room there and I'm heartbroken I'm not there to help him. If any staff has a chance to read this in time please let him know he is loved and fire the staff who kept calling him 'moose meat'.

Comfortable hostel for the location! Organization, hygiene and good price.

The location of the hostel is fantastic, as it's a 7min walk to the red light district, but also very close to the main square and shopping centers. The cleanliness of the hostel is subpar. The walls are dirty, the floors didn't seem to be clean, and the bathroom didn't seem like it got any attention. The beds themselves are supremely tiny, and the rooms are incredibly, incredibly cramped. Between a set of bunk beds, there was maybe 18inches of space. The service staff was constantly coming in to the room in the morning when someone was supposed to have checked out, barging in every 30min or so from 9am onwards. This went on until about noon, when we finally had left the room for the day's adventures. The lockers were small but worthwhile, although an onslaught of signs warned against using them for anything valuable. Security wasn't particularly great, as the attendant, who we had never seen, would just look at our face and ring us into the hostel, without any form of check whether we were staying there at not. Weird stuff when you consider how safe some of the other hostels in the area are. And there was a 5% charge for paying by card, that we may have completely missed, but it's worth mentioning it for anyone else that doesn't see it on booking sites.

It is true that the spaces are reduced, in fact it is more a hostel. But my experience at the Mevlana was positive! For those who want to experience the city is the ideal and strategic location!

Comfortable bed and clean sheets, good if you just wanted a place to crash. Tiny toilet, bathroom was okay, water pressure is good. Friendly reception staff, however the stairs were horrible! 4 flights up and I'm about to pass out, really steep and narrow, wonder how that passed the housing plan.

Last floor nn you breathed room by 2 turns. In6 with 3 horrible bunk beds.

As usual so many stairs x arrive in the room, smoke detector (as per law) but then NN is without smoking even a cigarette in full Amsterdam after the coffee. All too much cleaning, polite professional staff (run by Chinese) good quality price I recommend it.

Steep staircases, bathrooms only in common, cold and arid staff, tiny and awkward rooms. It's a hostel, not a hotel, and it costs too much. The worst place to stay in Amsterdam.
