His hotel has bed bugs. I travel quite a bit for business and trypically stay at this hotel I have never had any bug bites until I stayed at this hotel. My entire top of right leg was covered in bites after one stay here. I told the front desk and the girl immediately told me she would comp my room without getting a manager. I asked her what if these bugs get into my luggage and she said of all the cases they have had none have left the property. So I asked if this has happened a lot and she said that it happens quite a bit and that typically they get more in the summer and I ask to refund my money backa they didn't refund me dont go to this hotel. They are all old and dirty, and they will not respond to your mail or phone call for refund…

A message for the owner:I hope that you and your staff will use the rest of the money you didn't want to refund us to buy medicines! you are the worst. The hotel is ugly, dirty and now you say that we lied and there was not a tick in the bed. Well, I will post the photo of the tick every day until you give us the rest of the money we spent. Shame on you and your ridicolous staff and thank you again for letting three girls sleeping on the floor of the airport. Hope you experience the same.

I am very thankful to the staff of grand hotel I was forget my 4 thousand euros in hotel and I call them after 7 hours of my checkout, there was a lady who pickup my phone and said to me that she just came now on duty so let me check so after 5 minutes I call her back and she said yes I found your money in your room and you can collect it from reception so when I reached there she gave me my money I am very thankful to a lady of a hotel staff they are very honest with there job thanks again and thumbs up.

Dirty, noisy, no hot water, fire alarm in the night caused of smoke from a very laud party at the hotel. A very scary and unpleasant experience : (

Unacceptable. We couldn't sleep from the heat, the windows didn't open. Dirty. The only good was the location. They didnt have hair dryer. Absolutely disgusting for the money we pay.

Our luggage got stolen from the hotel room, the staff didn’t want to help us, didn’t want to show the security videos and didn’t wanted to call the police! The rooms are dirty and the staff was very aggressive when we tell them about our things stolen, is a shit of place, shit people, bad reputation hotel, it shouldn’t exist.

Clean but in desperate need for deep restoration. Good breakfast. Great location.

A poor Hotel, very old room, a bath we did not use because it's time was over a long time ago. The bed was ok. The breakfast in an old bar was basic with self service. We ran away and will never come back.

The location and parking is perfect. The rooms and price is also ok, and breakfast is included. And it's in the city so you can easily visit the stores.

The worst … 40 degrees in the room broken walls old sheets. The key to the faulty door. The bathroom looks like a prison…

Hotel not clean at all! The room was in terrible condition! The housekeeping had not been done, the sheets with stains. The bathroom is not talking about it! Insadmissible! Bathroom not clean, toilet disgusting!
We could hear everything, the hotel is in a state not possible. The elevator has scotch, the breakfast not terrible! I do not recommend.

Excellent location in the very centre of Rotterdam but not very grand. In desperate need of some TLC. Breakfast was good and the reception staff friendly. The lift was out of order so it was a long way up the stairs to my 4th floor room!

It depend if you get the room with nice scenery, your dissatisfaction will be lesser. I got fourth floor with nice view to the street. However as a budget hotel (I think), the facilities were enough. The breakfasts were always the same. Complainings were not quickly responded. I complained of a TV that was not working, may be because of mispressed of the remote. So we couldn't enjoy TV on my last 2 weeks. But it was a historical hotel that come from the beginning of 20 century that we must appreciated.

Nice hotel, good bedding and very clean. Small bathroom, good breakfast and attractive prices. Close to the center.

I had to cancel my room and wrote an email like described on their website. Reply took ages and money has been transfered anyway. A really bad service!

Awful hotel. First room I was given had no hot water or heating, so I was moved to a room with loose floor strips and no lights except in the bathroom. The problems with the first room were known about when I checked in. Don't stay here. It has no redeeming features.

Location great. Staff well behaved. Hated the night events starting 10pm to 2am organised by the hotel itself. Fire alarm being silenced by staff which is illegal.

Many casino near by. Near to the central station and transport facilites are good. Many shops are also near by.

Central yes grand no, anything but and the elderly man and woman on reception were so very rude. She said it had only just been refurbished but it was in desperate need of a refurb inside and out even the TV was the old 70/80's portable. My friend and I loved Rotterdam but hated the hotel, really was bad.

Terribly. The whole house stinks of cigarette butts, has been felt since the war no longer renovated, noisy, dirty. I took some pictures. Also no parking at the hotel, but 20 (! ) Minutes away at the sister hotel. Of course, no shuttle service. Stay healthy, stay away.

The breakfast was very good. This is a Büfee with different foods. The room, however, was not the best. The bed was not quite clean and the toilet was a bit unclean. We were provided with two towels, which had bruises.

Don't know why are the reviews so negative, but as a 60€ per night hotel this hotel meets all the expectations already. Space inside room is adequate, utensils are clean even have hot water boiler.

The horror is just wild! I haven't stopped in this kind of stuff. And the view from the window, just a nightmare, as if I'm in India at 1 star stopped. Exit not to the street, but inside, where everything is in the pipes of old, like some factory and all in cigarette butts and leftovers of food. The beds are soft and clean. The rest of the guard☹️

Bed bugs! It is really awfull! Rather dirty rooms with old equipment, especially bathrooms.

Awful dirty place! Will never return. Room dirty and smelly. Got bitten off the bedbugs! No hot water. Staff are ignorant. Nightclub keeps you awake all night.

The breakfast was generous and a lot to choose from and our bed was comfy too little bit noisy at night from the clubbers. Overall a good hotel.

The exact word to describe this hotel is… Disgusting. Very dirty, old, noisy… The bathroom seems to be taken out of a horror movie, the elevator was broken, the hallway carpet was stinking, glasses of booze down the stairs, the noise from the adjoining bars wouldn't let you sleep and tried to get in our room several times. The experience was so horrible that we left there before it woke up in the middle of a storm. The receptionist seemed to have been partying while working and by giving him the complaints, he cared the least (seemed to be accustomed) I would not recommend it to Mo worst enemy… (I give a star because it does not let me score but does not deserve)

Horrible! The worst hotel I have ever been to. Everything in this hotel from the floor up to the ceiling is actually broken or about 50 years old. The owners are indeed replacing things but only very few things have been replaced yet. It stinks very strange in the rooms. Cleanliness is OK, but could be better. The heating was on before we arrived, by then it was so hot in the room (and the light was broken) that I demanded for a different room. You can't turn the heating off, it stays on the whole night. Without an open window you soon have 30 degrees celcius inside the room. The hallways are in the worst condition. Eventhough it is right in the center, it it way I too expensive. We booked online and payed almost 80 euros for a single room — and the display in the hotel offered the room for 55 euros. Even 50 would be too expensive for this hotel.

Good hotel, breakfast is really good.

Caters very much to the business client but friendly service none the less. Good clean room. Didn't use any facilities though as we just wanted a bed and a roof! When we return to Rotterdam in the future we will probably look for something a little more honey and quaint though.

A 2 star hotel at most. Aside from the great location and counter staff, everything else about this hotel is appalling. The hotel is poorly maintained. The room doors need to be slammed to close and footsteps on the floorboards in the corridor was loud, with poor sound proofing in the rooms. Non-smoking policy is NOT enforced although this is a non-smoking hotel. My room reeked of stale cigerette smell from the wardrobe (? ) and also from the smelly toilet. Do note that there's no air conditioning in this hotel, which is common in establishments in Holland. Old school water based heating system is installed in all rooms and corridors. Breakfast with simple spread of cold cuts, bread, cereal, Coffee and Tea starts late: 7am on weekdays and 9am on weekends. If you have paid for room with breakfast, you can ask for a lunch pack for takeaway if you need to leave before breakfast time. My lunch pack consisted of 4 buns with 2 x cold cuts and 2 x Cheeses, can of soft drink, candy bar and a fruit. Enough for breakfast and lunch. Despite the above, I managed to survive one week as I have prepaid for the room without doing my research. To be fair to the hotel, you get what you pay for. Great location at a low price. Just be prepared for lower quality rooms and dont expect a Hilton.

Good to sleep. Silent, wide rooms. Bed was comfortable.

It's an older hotel, it's still nice to stay at cause it's close to everything but it's older and smaller room. The breakfast was pretty good, lots of selection.

The most beautiful of this hotel is not only the central location and close to everything it is the breakfast!

The worst hotel I have ever been, out dated, small, not clean, internet out of range in the rooms. No airco. Good location but the rest converts this hotel in a bad and expensive expirience. I stay often in Rotterdam centrum but never again in this one.

Interior double room with a view nothing short of horrific, with continuous noise of the fans (I think). Wi-Fi in the room did not take hardly ever, and if it was worked very little, but left the room worked great. Very tight (when you sat on the toilet had a sink in your face). Shower a bit spoiled with decaying walls. Overall room spotlessly clean. Closet big enough, and two/three chairs. I was two nights and they made up the bed and gave change of towels.
Breakfast plentiful and good, with a choice of sweet or savory breakfast.

Located in the heart of the weena area makes it quite a noisy area until 4am. Room are clean but the global infrastructure is old and sometimes smell duff. But positive if you're going for this it is in the center of the going out area.

We will never go back there… The rooms are filthy and some of the staff is really rude (not all of them). The twin beds are tiny and very very old. The bathroom too. The carpet has lot of stains. Don't get fooled by the pictures they post. The central location is all what is good about the place — though there is a huge club next door with really loud music all night. We booked this one by mistake (not reading the reviews) Won't happen again ;)

Childbirth from the pros:
location close to the Centre and shops, impressive breakfast, room rates good, 24-hour reception 24.
I turn now to the negatives:
heating on all night we had to keep the window open in November!, mosquitos, paint that peels off in the shower, loud music over the weekend caused by the many nightclubs in the area.

Vintage hotel, very damp reception. The bar is cool though.

The hotel is very well located and they are very kind. But the cleaning and maintenance leave much to be desired.

Excellent location. Within walking distance of the central train station. In the middle of the pedestrian downtown and a few blocks from the Maritime Museum and the famous bridge of Rotterdam.

It is an old hotel don't expect too much. But it is in the center of the city very close to a large number of shopping stores, coffee shops, pubs…

Positive: the location Negative: very dirty and a lot of damage. The decor is outdated.

From the outside, is very acceptable, the rooms need once a major overhaul. The General cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Breakfast room, like in a Bahnhofhalle.

It has a good breakfast & it's cheap. Still… This should Not be called hostel. It's an Old hotel, not well maintained, with 3 bunk beds on one room. No lockers (reception can take your staff not being responsible of it) I had a terrible experience when a guy, some how, open our dorm door & try to still a girl's backpack on the middle of the night. White bad. About an hour after I woke up with the police flashlight through the window & the screaming asking if we saw anyone. (Apparently they robbed another room on the top floor) The cheap cost doesn't worth an experience like this.

This hotel is the worst I have been to in all my life. And I have been traveling for a long time and visited a lot of hotels. First of all, the TV doesn't work, the room does not have any airconditioning, when I came in to the room, the table wasn't clean, the floor wasn't and the shower neither. The bed is very old, and is not really a bed. There are two mattresses on top of each other with a board under it and some wheels. The hallway stinks and the key to the room didn't work until a 'staff member' had to come and open it themselves.

Two stars because of good location! 's the only thing in the hotel is good! Totally overpriced, I found it also.

The rooms are outdated it riecbt here after welding foot and einstellungstest it is clear to me a shower is here for me.

Cleanliness is apparently absent in the Netherlands, but the food paid for everything am excited by the mango juice.

Old building, small dark rooms, paper walls. But it has a great atmosphere, nice stuff, luxury position and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast were really awesome.

A rancioso super hotel, is without reform, since the 70's. +-, evil, decadent bathrooms, all that is saved is the buffet breakfast and its location in the Centre of the city.

Had one night there and horrible experience. bugs all over the bed! had the bug bites completely covered the body! itches all the time.

IPhone got robbed inside the hotel room. Awful.

Rooms are comfy, clean, and come with some delicacies. There is quite a bunch of things to see at a walking distance of the place. Food and staff are irreproachable. First floor offers a nice atmosphere to chill in, either alone or with friends. However, rooms are furnished accordingly with the price, the later being cheap. So it all depends on what one wanna get for the price they offer, I guess ;).

Negative: room hygiene, rooms are come down (not at all like described on the site), no parking, payment in advance.

Cleanliness is a foreign Word. The hotel is extremely came down in the entire, several pubic hair and drops of urine (! ) were on the toilet seat, hoovered the last time was probably 10 years ago. Then the disco noise which freely early hammering through the non-existent noise insulation of the window until morning in the ear gives you the rest.
NEVER never never never again, just unbearable.
