+Nice landscaped interior gardens with resident mongoose.
+ Modern clean rooms with functional, well appointed rooms.
+ Adequate breakfast, cooked eggs and bacon available upon request.
— Service is rather impersonal and standoffish in the reception and breakfast areas, defeats the purpose of staying in boutique guesthouses if larger lodges and resorts we stayed in Namibia have friendlier and more attentive staff.
— Terrible or non-existent soundproofing, I can hear adjoining room's conversations in full and I am sure they could have heard ours too.
— Pool is too small, more like wading pool with a couple of loungers.
— No onsite restaurant if you need lunch or dinner, only Roof of Africa is walkable (very average food imo)
This guesthouse was chosen by our travel agency at the start of the tour, and I chose to stay somewhere else at the end of it after returning to Windhoek (before flying out), and we had a much better experience there.

Truly elegant rooms and a very pleasant inner court yard. Close to good restaurants and city center, very helpful and friendly staff!
I enjoyed my stay at the Elegant Guest House a lot and found it had a very relaxing atmosphere.
The only thing that I would like to see changed, is that the selection at the breakfast buffet was not quite up to the price.

Great place to stay — clean, safe, lovely hot showers, comfy bed (although was two singles pushed together haha), lovely bed linen, fabulous breakfast and, best of all, friendly and helpful staff — nothing was a problem.
Would highly recommend.

Passing through or relaxing, work or holiday? This is a great place to stay in Windhoek.
It is uncomplicated, friendly, relaxing, secure, clean and fresh! Breakfast is great and the honesty-bar is so appreciated. And you have value for your money.

It is a bit away from the city center, so unless you have a car, it can be difficult to get around. Lovely, quiet neighbourhood, the guesthouse is decorated with taste and simplicity. Breakfast was prepared by Matilda, it was delicious! Pool for extra relaxation!

Lovely comfortable rooms with absolutely fabulous service. Great quality amenities.

Free coffee all say, honesty box for alcohol and water.
Great toiletries and air conditioning in rooms.
Shower was powerful. Beds soft.
Pool area deserted so nice and quiet, towels on sun beds waiting for you.
3 min walk to Joe's Beerhouse, who booked a drive back for us.

A good stopover for a night each side of a touring Namibia holiday. Friendly welcome. Comfortable and clean functional room.
One criticism is that there is only one hairdryer and iron for communal use in an establishment with 17 rooms. As a boutique hotel I would expect a hairdryer to be in every room. The website says a sumptuous breakfast is served, this is not the case in fact it was quite basic with option of cooked eggs! Not enough tables laid up for guests.

Lovely place to spend a night or two. Not sure if the mongoose on the patio was resident, but was just amazing to see. Everything you could wish for, comfortable, great breakfast and a warm welcome. Really enjoyed our stay with you. Thank you!

It was more a holding point prior to our tour around Namibia…… it was functional…. Nothing special…. Wouldn’t have chosen it as there are nicer places to stay at similar prices……. No meals provided in the evening so had to go out twice to average eateries in the neighbourhood…. Breakfast was okay although I had an argument with the woman on duty about how I prefer my scrambled eggs……. She told me she does them her way…. Sorry I forgot I was the guest!

Small hotel, well located in Windhoek. The exterior is nicely decorated with a nice little pool, and the room was very clean and equipped with air conditioning.
However, the rooms are very poorly soundproofed. In the case of a connecting room, we could hear every bit of our neighbors' conversation.

A very comfortable hotel where we had a one night stopover, after arriving in Windhoek before heading out on our travels around Namibia. It was very clean and well equipped. The garden was really pretty, and the parking was safe and secure. The staff were helpful and friendly. Great breakfast!

Stayed one night. Friendly, informative check-in; lovely room. Very lukewarm shower. Breakfast was okay (I was told “there is no butter” at breakfast. In the middle of Windhoek? Acceptable out at elegant desert lodge but found the response very lax. Also, very slow clearing tables after breakfast. Well maintained garden. Okay for one night. Wlan available.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Elegant Guesthouse while in Windhoek for work. The rooms are comfortable and well designed, Wi-Fi is strong and stable, the property is beautiful and well maintained, swimming pool is clean and the breakfast every morning was a well received. The staff, Mathilda and team are incredible and were more than happy to assist with any request, even if out of their normal scope or work. I highly recommend this guesthouse to all traveling to Windhoek!

Nothing is too much trouble. Great room and delicious healthy breakfast. Matilda on the front desk will book restaurants, taxis and generally look after you.
Perfect stopover on arrival and departure to the airport. Pleasant outside area. Spotlessly clean.
