Sonneneck Guesthouse

Nice Guesthouse with clean rooms and a relaxing area at the pool. The host Loni has been very helpful and answered all our questions with pleasure. The breakfast was made fresh every morning. When back in Windhoek we will definetly stay again in the Sonneneck Guesthouse.

I was”walked” to this hotel after their was a snafu with my original hotel.
It couldn’t have been better. Gated, with secure parking. Beautiful.
Flowers, trees. Large room with comfortable bed. Hot shower, big towels.
Breakfast was delicious and offered cooked to order eggs.

I was “walked” here after Priceline messed up my reservation at another hotel.
And I was not disappointed. Beautiful property with lots of trees, flowers and comfortable outside space. Rooms are large with good lighting. Bathroom is large with plenty of hot water and large towels. Full breakfast with eggs to order is included. It’s a very big, tasty and filling meal.
I was traveling solo and didn’t have a car. They kindly called a taxi for me which came straightaway.
It is a hidden gem and would return any time.

This is THE place you’re going to want to stay in Windhoek. I’ve been coming to Namibia for more than 10-years. Before and after the long flights back to Europe and America, I’ve always needed a night in Windhoek. Strongly recommended for your health, plus you’ll have the chance to check out the cultural hub of Namibia, shop for souvenirs. Sonneneck is a cozy garden oasis tucked away in a quiet and safe corner of Windhoek. Perfect for single travelers or families since they have a lot of options for rooms. Or even groups, which I’ve utilized in the past myself for photography tour groups. The breakfast and pool area are a perfect respite and for your groups it’s a lovely place to meet before or after heading out to the bush or desert. The family that runs the guesthouse have many years of experiences with tourists from all around the world and can help you organize anything from transport to and from the airport, taxi within the city, or even dinner reservations.
The rooms are spotless clean and well decorated. Tasteful color pallets and aesthetic design that is a nice welcome to Namibia. The hot water pressure is to be noted as excellent as well.
I rarely leave reviews, but I wanted to give the Sonneneck Guesthouse my 5/5 rating for how much I enjoyed my stay. As a frequent traveler through Windhoek, I’d honestly not even consider staying anywhere else.
