Chobe River Villas exceeded our high expectations. From the warm, genuine welcome to the attention of every detail in decor and comfort, quality and quantity of superbly prepared and presented culinary experiences and of course last, but certainly not least, the expertly guided land and river safaris yielding so many unforgettable wild animal encounters.
The massage treatments were among the best I've ever had and the gorgeous sundowner deck provides panoramic views of exquisite sunsets. In our case, moon rises as well!
Truly the only thing I would change about our stay would be to make it longer.
I'm going to do my best to return.

A unique experience staying in Chobe water villas. A very warmhearted welcome was a great kick off. The whole team of Chobe water villas did their utmost to make us feel absolutely pampered. Super nice and perfectly equipped villas. Nicely decorated main area and restaurant. Excellent food created by the chefs. Tours were exciting as guide knew where to go.

As part of a small group tour from New Zealand we had the pleasure of staying two nights at the magical Chobe Water Villas. From the African welcome when we arrived to the wonderful farewell we were enchanted. The design concept of this resort unique and outstanding. The service and dining was exceptional and the morning and evening river cruises to view African wildlife was simply amazing.
My special thanks to the entire staff for the wonderful surprise as they assembled at our 6.30am breakfast singing and dancing as the sang "Happy Birthday" to me — absolutely lovely! A special mention also for the spa and massage experience with Happy and Cherry. We will never forget our stay at Chobe Water Villas.

Chobe Water Villas is truly where heaven meet earth. I enjoyed my stay. The staff were amazing, very hospitable. I totally recommend. My favorite part of the trip was the boat cruise. Being so close to my favorite animals which is an elephants was an experience I will cherish forever.

Our visit to Chobe Water Villas was nothing less than amazing, exceeding all our expectations. The hospitality, accommodations, food, spa, and sightseeing were nothing shy of outstanding, a true five star resort. The lodge setting is breathtaking, your villa view is overlooking the river facing the park and provides a most incredible sunrise and wildlife watching, the sundowner deck is welcoming and perched high for a most beautiful sunset, the restaurant, bar, firepit and pool area also overlook the river and park for an incredible and relaxing viewing experience. Hospitality manager, Carine was always there to ensure that our wants and needs were immediately taken care of. Reception and guest relations manager, Jean provided an informative welcome tour and prepared memorable trips. Jean had our travel documents into both Botswana and Zimbabwe in order with smooth and convenient processing through 8 different immigration offices. Carine and Jean coordinated our personal preferences and wishes with tour guides and drivers, so that our experience was enjoyable and stress free. Food and beverage manager, Michael, made the special effort to recommend some of the finest cuisine, wines, and drinks anywhere. He and his team prepared meals and sundowners that made the beautiful African sunsets complete. Servers, Josefine and John, were never a look away, always prompt, always with a smile for service of the finest dishes anywhere.

The service was out of this world. Very nice staff. Everything was organized. Food was great. Kind People and a beautiful location.

Guests interested in a lodge in that price range will have to decide between this one and Chobe Game Lodge across the river and border. The latter certainly has the better location right within Chobe NP. From Water Villas, it currently takes an hour to get to the park entrance as the next door Namibian immigration office is closed. We have chosen Water Villas because Chobe NP was not our first priority after having seen plenty of wildlife in Namibia. Afternoon boat trips do not require immigration and there are plenty of animals to be seen. We have certainly not regretted our choice.
While we were at various expensive lodges between Windhoek and Victoria Falls, none of the others came even close to the perfection, enthusiasm and style experienced at Water Villas. They don‘t cut any corners and simply provide a unsurpassed experience in lodging, food / beverage and activities. An example? When we discussed the plans for the day in the morning, we mentioned that we might grab a sundowner and take it to the new sundowner platform high above the property. When we wanted to do that, we realized that they had schlepped up a whole bar to that tower. Staffed by two waiters, just for the two of us.
To celebrate my daughter‘s birthday, there was not just a cake but a huge choir including a drummer, a dancer and a photographer. Did I say that all meals were fantastic in choice, quality and presentation?

Wonderful experience. Michael and Fabian delivered amazing service. The river safaris were well done and the food was very good. I traveled with my seven year old and all the staff were very kind and attentive. Highly recommend this lodge when visiting the Chobe.

This place feels like the ultimate undiscovered gem. We brought our family of 5, and stayed in their wonderful over the water villas. The facilities are all excellent. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, with balconies overlooking the Chobe River, which allowed us to wake to the sight of elephants on the river, and go to sleep to the sound of hippos munching there. The main lodge is fantastic-a nicely decorated and furnished gathering place, with fire pits for cold nights and a pool overlooking the river for the hot days. The food was very good, and the service in every aspect in this place was impeccable. The entire staff greeted us with Namibian music and dance, and saw to our every need and request. The boat tours along the river were a wonder of wildlife. Hippos, giraffes, cape buffalo, crocodiles, monitor lizards and more birds than you can count. Bernard our guide was superb and hugely knowledgeable about local species. He led us to an absolutely magical experience of watching a herd of elephants snorkel across the Chobe River during a vibrant orange sunset. The lodge is near Chobe National Park in Botswana, and arranged a safari there for us one morning, where David, our guide, helped us find lions, zebras, giraffes, kudu, impalas, hippos, monkeys, warthogs, mongooses, and so many other creatures (sadly just missing a leopard as it crossed the road 2 minutes ahead of us).

What a magical place! Difficult to get to but once you’re there the views directly into Chobe National Park from the Namibian side of the river are spectacular. The property is lovely and the lobby area is open. Many great viewing places and incredibly warm and friendly staff. The sundowner platform and view was off the charts.
The F&B could have been a little better and more polished and the game drive in Chobe was more crowded than my experience in the Masai Mara. I suggested to the hotel that they have a local dish as one of the options on the menu. All this said, this was a better value/ less expensive than our Masai Mara experience.

WOW! This place is absolutely over the top amazing. Having stayed at a number of 5 star hotels and resorts, this one may very well top them all. The staff caters to your every need and treats you better than family. While every single person made an impact, Carine, Joel and Joy rose to the top. The sunset boat cruise/safaris were really very nice. The accommodations were top notch and amenities were great. The only downside to the Water Villas, and it is significant, is the access to Chobe National Park. If your primary purpose is to go on multiple daily game drives in the park, this is not the right place. Being that this is set within the country of Namibia, you must go through Immigration to leave Namibia and a separate immigration to enter Botswana. Hence, the earliest that you can get into the park is 0830 if everything works really well and the immigration offices close at 1630 so an evening drive is off the table. That said, the game viewing directly from the lodge is very good through binoculars. Buffalo, elephants, and various other game were on the island in front of the lodge daily. Hippos regularly sing right in front of your villa. Tons of birds are seen from the lodge and boat. The boat safari cannot go to the Botswana side of the island to see the animals on in the game park, albeit many animals are on the island to view.

What an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. I don’t know where to start as every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Food, service, staff and experiences were over and above expectations every single time. From our meals in the restaurant to the food sent out on our safari’s it was just perfect. Will definitely be back one day and hopefully soon rather than later!

Wonderful facilities in a remote location. The experience was made all the more special with the warm and caring staff. The welcome and birthday songs were truly exceptional. Great experience and lots of great memories.
