It is a fantastic location. You may choice three types of rooms, dulex, superior and river view. The restaurant with reasonable price on the bank of river will serve delicious food. Breakfast is served with Myanmar traditional style and European style. There are very polite and helpful. The hotel is 10 min e-bike distance from city, Sapara Gate. Enjoy the sunset to the mountains at the other side of river by relaxing under the shade of huge tamarind tree.

Beautiful place within the paradise that is Bagan. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room overlooking the park. Wide, luminous. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the park and X-night puppet shows (a traditional art).

Maybe the only downside is that the size of the room might be a bit small for what you pay, but everything else is certainly worth it. Great breakfast and restaurants here, excellent views, nice pool area (with bar), spa, massages, clean compound and helpful staff. This place even has some history to it as Edward VIII stayed here (before becoming King). If you've got the money and want to treat yourself while in Bagan, this is just the place.

Great hotel but the restaurant service is very slow. It's view is awesome so you can definitely enjoy the waiting. Great pool and location.

Overall we enjoyed our stay there and would come back. The hotel is very well located, close the the Pagodas and with nice view to the river. If you stay there, don't miss the sunset, and don't bother going anywhere else. It's probably the best sunset spot in Bagan. Breakfast was above average. On the other hand, the rooms could use better maintenance, the service is not very good, and any service that you need to pay for is extremely expensive. I was surprised to see that the restaurant was packed with people during dinner time, while excellent restaurants only 3000 Kyats and 5 minute drive from there hardly have any customers. We ate outside all three nights that we stayed there. We probably had better food, better service and for 25% of the price it costs in the hotel restaurant.

Beautiful, serene, peaceful, magical. Staff are amazing! A few problems paying don't take and US dollars over a 10$ so make sure you don't have big bills in this village. It is also a bit pricey!

The Paradise in Bagan. Beautiful environment. Restaurant next to the river under the acacias inhabited by squirrels. Breakfast was excellent. Food a la carte abundant and very good. Rental service of electric motorcycles and bicycles to walk through the stupas of the valley.

A sanctuary by the river with beautifully maintained landscape. A five star cottage hotel without pretentiousness. Cocktails or dinner looking sunset over the river is just unreal.

Unique hotel by its location. But that doesn't make it all. The rooms are very basic: Night table on one side of the bed. No electrical outlet easily accessible in the room. In the bathroom it is almost impossible to have water neither icy nor burning. The rooms with river view are bright but the ones behind are very dark. The restaurant is expensive and the service very limited: we never ate at the same time so the dishes arrived in an offbeat way. Nothing very serious but at the price of the room it is unacceptable.

Pleasant, with a nice garden and a restaurant with European prices, definitely above average. The boats ' engines force you to wake up from 5 a. M.

Very well located and very friendly Service. To reach on foot the most beautiful temples and pagodas.

Good location near museum. One thing that irks me is that the staff forgot about our shuttle service from the bus station to the hotel so we had to wait in the freezing weather in the wee hours of morning before they called a driver to fetch us. Not a good way to start our stay there. The water in the shower is also very weak. But good service overall.

The location is fabulous. From the hotel you can walk around the temples in Old Bagan very easily. The view over the river is very relaxing and the sunsets are perfect. The food is great too. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a bit of a faded old world charm. A room overlooking the river is essential. It also has a great pool.

Location is great, but the staff should get some hospitality training.

Beach view is like a very beautiful living picture when you wake up. Don't forget to see the beautiful sunset going down right in front of your room. Lighting switches are a bit lousy. I would be ready to give 5 stars when they are ready to upgrade with modern furniture with old traditional styles.

Very good place to stay! Expect the boat engine sounds when you choose river views. Many big trees cover up the whole area.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Not very high-tech, but no one travels to Bagan to stay indoors…! Delicious dinner and breakfast. Beautiful views of the Irrawady River.

I think it will be enough to say that I got very attached to this hotel and staff that works here. This whole place, Old Bagan, Thande hotel and surrounding is magical and I recommend to everyone who likes Buddhist spirit to visit this place ❤ sincerest wishes to everyone working in Thande hotel, you made my vacation unforgettable, thank you, Dunja.

The hotel is in a quiet, secluded location with lovely grounds, nice swimming pool and spectacular views over the river. It's ideal for exploring the temples and the best way to do that is by e-bike which we did in January. The dinner service in the garden restaurant was extraordinarily slow on one evening when the staff seemed to be standing around with time on their hands even though the place was packed. We waited an age for a drink and also our dinner but I guess it may have been a one-off bad night. The floral duvet decorations became a bit of a standing joke with us as it seemed everywhere we went these were considered more important than getting good service. If only the restaurant staff went to as much trouble as the room maids! Notwithstanding one or two niggles, we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Pool. Bungalow-style bedrooms. Staff. Breakfast. Everything perfect. Restaurant with payment only in dollars a little face.

It is a hotel next to the river, with a hint of English colonial, and a vegetation and wonderful wildlife. The views over the river at sunset gift wonderful. But, you need a certain upgrade of the facilities. If it would not be a top total. This next to the main temples of Bagan.

On the river bank, nice garden view. Room is comfortable but aircond location can be adjusted to face the beds rather than at side. Clean and tidy. Breakfast is great with good choices, having meals next to river bank. Dinner not much choice and mid range prices is USD or equivalent Ks. Overall, good choice.

Old room, shower open in bathroom with curtain, very clean, food is good, service friendly and accommodating.

Lovely place! The view of the river is beautiful and to eat or drink at Acasia shadow is so relaxing.

I feel myself at home here. I can't argue that the services are well beyond what I have been charged. Breakfast is yummy and a variety of items in the buffet (both Asian and European) will persuade you well to break your dietary plans. The hotel can take care the guests in details; towels are ready beside the swimming pool, a new news journal on the couch of my room corridor every morning, various local traditional food are served with the breakfast, 8 hrs FOC ebike rental for every guest staying at least three nights, the resourceful receptionist is ready to help you arrange air or bus ticket for your return home. Feeling the sunset over the famous Irrawaddy river by sitting on the teak chairs arranged on the green under the long-lived acacia trees is the unique experience for me during my stay. This hotel owns a talented landscaping. Walking on the lanes connecting the hotel rooms will make you feel like visiting a local small botanical garden. For someone who fonds of diving into history, the ancient building which house the Prince of Wales (later became King Edward) during his visit to Bagan is in the hotel campus and will catch all the attentions. Optional lunch and dinner are served at the Prince of Wales restaurant at that building. After the 3 nights stay, I have to admit that I was so attracted by the hotel and I am sure that this place will be my first choice whenever I visit this ancient city again.

Hotel very well situated for visiting the doughnut of the temples. Beautiful setting and room very decent with a small porch. The pool is great and viend very well, but better to bathe with the hair collected porwue for any product derived from petroleum are you still full of fat. I don't know if it was something punctual after improvement works.

Was built for a visit from king george and retains the old world charm. Staff is super friendly. Rent the e-scooters to explore the temple complex.

To be a hotel 3 stars is very good, but services that offer you the charge like a 5 star hotel. To wash 1 t-shirt 2$. Although on the other hand, you leave the day with a bike for 4 hours for free. The breakfast more than acceptable and the views from the terrace lovely. The rooms and the bathroom somewhat limited, but it is a 3 star hotel and the price we came out well. The staff very friendly.

If you appreciate bungalows, outdoors, flowers, grass and dining with a view, this hotel is for you. I loved the garden; it had fresh grass, bright, beautiful flowers and the epic view; this place could be a great place to tie the knot especially for garden wedding dreamers. I enjoyed taking a dip into the pool in the blazing heat; it cooled me down right away. I liked how the staff informed me that the pool is cleaned everyday; I felt safe dipping in clean water. The spa downstairs was reasonably priced. The front desk service included rentals for motorcycles, and bicycles around Pagan. It was relaxing to eat breakfast with the open view to Irrawaddy River. I see myself going back to Hotel Thande very soon.

Ayeyarwady is a nice hotel facing the river.

Very well. Do not take a suite facing the River because wake-up provided by the river traffic. Cold and little clean pool. For the rest nothing to say.
