Riad Kech One & Spa

This Riad is located right in the Medina in Marrakech. Some sites are only showing it as a 2 or 3 star accommodation. I cannot understand this as in my opinion it is easily a 4 star Riad. Now you have to understand what a Riad is. It is not a hotel with a concierge, gym etc. It would be more like a bed and breakfast. Most Riads in Marrakech are located down little alleys that seem kinda dodgy until you step inside and it is like you are transported into an oasis that makes the craziness of the Medina dissappear. Some of them do have small swimming pools but this one does not. The room I stayed in had a king size bed, sitting area and a very large bathroom with a walk in shower, heated towel bar, hair dryer soap and shampoo. There is a heat pump in the room as well which as a Canadian, I appreciated as I am not used to the Moroccan heat. They offer breakfast as a standard and can provide lunch and dinner if you pre book it. There are many restaurants within a 5 minute walk as well. They also have a spa room where you can book various massage treatments at reasonable prices. The terrace on the roof top is also quite lovely and peaceful. Great location as the famous Jemma El Fnaa market and Souks is only a 25 minute walk away and there are plenty of Souks along the way to entice you to buy Moroccan treasures. The manager Hocine is also very personable and speaks English. A true gem in Marrakech if you desire to spend your nights away from the usual hotel scene.

What can I say. What a gem of a place! We arrived at 7pm and were greeted by Zachary, a wonderful attentive young man who clearly is a warm and friendly person. He made our stay comfortable. We arrived with biscuits and mint tea as well as some suggestions on where to go and eat. Every morning 8-10am there is a traditional moroccan breakfast of breads, tea, juice, spreads and omlette if you wish.
The location is superb! Just a few minutes walk and you are on the other side of the Medina walls. We walked 15 minutes to Le Jardin Mayorelle/YSL and used Indrive for any taxis which were all 10-12 minutes to where we wanted to go. The aircon in the room was powerful and were surprised of how large the bathroom was. It is truly a peaceful place to stay after a long day of exploring in the glorious heat of Marrakesh. I love that it was spacious, homey, and the interiors were vibrant and clean. With a a rooftop perfect for sunbathing. The ambiance was amazing especially being just off the busy markets outside, within 10 minutes walk you are in the middle of the souks.
We did not use the amenities other than the iron and iron board but they offer massages and hammam at great prices. Perhaps next time we will enjoy these.

I stayed at this riad for three nights and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic, right in a charming local neighborhood with a small market just a few meters away where you can buy anything you need. It feels very safe—the front door is always securely locked—and as soon as you step inside, it’s like entering a peaceful oasis compared to the busy and hot street outside. It’s cool, quiet, very clean and you even hear the gentle sounds of birds.
The riad itself is beautiful and intimate, with only a handful of rooms, which keeps the atmosphere calm and relaxed. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food they serve is delicious. The rooms are exceptionally spacious with comfortable beds, large bathrooms, and great air conditioning. The rooms feel very new and are super clean.
Really nice is the rooftop terrace, which is perfect for relaxing. There are sofas, tables, chairs, two sunbeds, and even an outdoor shower. It’s the ideal spot to chill after exploring te city.
Getting around is easy as well—just a short 3-minute walk takes you to a street accessible by taxis, which is not always the case in Marrakech. There are interesting things to see nearby, and if not, it’s always easy and cheap to grab a taxi to any part of the city.
Overall, this was a very comfortable stay, and I felt truly at home here. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, relaxing, and welcoming experience in Marrakech.
