We had an an amazing time in Marrakesh made all the more special by our stay at Dar Akal. It was my second time staying here. There is a wonderful energy and peaceful ambience in Dar Akal, a welcome oasis from the hustle and bustle of the souks and medina outside. Siad the Manager is a fantastic host with a very warm welcome. He gave us many very authentic recommendations. The staff and the food are really top quality. We will be back soon thank you to all.

Our stay at Dar Akal could not have been better! From booking through check-out, everything was easy and professional. All of the staff were friendly, and so service-oriented. Specifically, I cannot emphasize enough how helpful and professional Said was! He was so friendly, informative and accessible — from meeting us at arrival to accompanying us to our departure. All of his dinner recommendations were spot on! He helped to arrange transportation for us for an attraction outside of the medina.
Our family of four found our suite to be very beautiful and comfortable. We loved the rooftop terrace — a perfect place for the delicious daily breakfast. The location is about a 5 minute walk to the souks, and about 15 minutes to the main square. It is a quiet neighborhood that felt very safe. It is also not far from a bustling market street/plaza area that is more local-oriented.
We would definitely stay here again if we return to Marrakech!

We had such a great time at this riad in Marrakech. The place is so beautiful—really clean, and you can tell they take care of it. The style is traditional but modern, and it felt like a real escape from the city despite it being right on your doorstep (literally)! We felt really at peace in the Riad where we could fully switch off, every corner is quiet.
The food was amazing, too. We had dinner three nights out of four at the Riad because we loved it so much and such good value for money! The breakfasts were perfect too.
The rooftop pool was another highlight. It was so nice to relax there with a great view of the city. So peaceful and beautiful.
But the real standout for us was Siad, the manager. He was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. He gave us great tips on things to do around the city and just had a really warm, kind and genuine vibe. It made our stay feel extra special and we felt so safe like we were just living with family. All of your recommendations were amazing!
Overall, I’d highly recommend this riad if you’re in Marrakech. Great place, and lovely people. And you’ll definitely feel at peace here!

Perfect accommodation, great atmosphere, comfortable rooms and a varied breakfast with fresh products. The rooftop terrace with a pool is perfect for relaxing. Saïd is a wonderful host, always ready with great tips and genuinely helpful with everything. Highly recommended!

Dar Akal was the perfect riad, and oasis tucked away from the bustle of Marrakech in one of the oldest part of the medina yet easily walkable to the souks and sights. The design was gorgeous, including the bahia suite we stayed in, roof terrace and pool. Said, the manager, was fantastic throughout, organising dinner at the riad on our first night, massages, a trip to the atlas mountains and couldn't have been more helpful when our friend sprained her ankle on our last day! Thank you Said.

We had a wonderful stay at Dar Akal, a beautiful Riad in the middle of the Medina, a true paradise, where we could rest from the vibrant city of Marrakech. Beautiful and comfortable rooms, very clean, fresh, and well-decorated; even the bathroom was lovely. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast on the Riad rooftop, near a refreshing swimming pool. All the Staff were amazing, especially the manager Saïd, who always helped with precious suggestions. We also experienced the Riad Hamam with the scrub — it was fantastic!
A place to remember and return!

A hidden gem. We were looked after incredibly well with AMAZING food on the terrace one evening (one of the best meals we had whilst staying in Morocco) The Hammam was exceptional and set the scene for a relaxing few days, amidst the chaos of Marrakech. Highly recommend.

A palace managed by a King! Beautiful luxurious rooms with great Wi-Fi. Totally quiet at night Great food and great service. The manager Said is a true gem! Super kind and helpful, you couldn´t be better recieved in Marrakech. Recommended.

Fantastic Riad in the centre of everything. Tastefully decorated rooms. Said is the epitome of a great host, always welcoming and discreet, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast and supper are delicious. Beds very comfortable. Ten out of ten on all levels.

Thankyou for a lovely stay, beautifully kept Riad with both considerate and attentive staff. A relaxing environment as well as good access to the main tourist sites within the medina. Hard to find initially but the manager will meet you from the taxi drop off if required. After a day the lanes become second nature!

This was a joy! A warm welcome from the outset and then you find yourself in a little oasis inside a beautiful building with so many attractive features. Plenty of little places to sit, both inside and out. The food was delicious and superbly presented. What makes it most special is Said who literally cannot do enough to make your stay as memorable as possible. So helpful with onward travel — and he speaks 6 languages!
The Riad is also well placed for exploring the souks and the main square.

I honestly don’t know where to start with our experience here, everything was perfect! Said was the perfect host, the riad was stunning and the rooms were incredible. We stayed in the family suite which was so beautifully designed and the beds were really comfy. Anything we needed was catered for, the ladies in the kitchen were superb and the food was delicious. Nice little hammam and massages. The rooftop is beautiful, lots of places to relax and a lovely little pool. I have worked in travel most of my life and honestly say this is one of the most welcoming places I have stayed.
Once we got our bearings, the location was good and easy to find our way around. Had a couple of meals at la Slimana which was close by and very good. 100% recommend this riad and Said and the team.
Ps. This is a traditional riad in the middle of Marrakesh run by an exceptional team. For anyone complaining about no lifts and dirty alleyways, then perhaps Marrakesh is not for you!

Honestly, what a place! It's 100% as shown in the pictures but better. Everywhere was squeaky clean, so we felt straight at home. All the staff were super friendly and the manager, Said, was simply exceptional. I work in tourism and we are both very well-travelled but this level of hospitality I had not encountered before. We had booked a Hammam treatment, which was fun (no steam room or pool though, as this wouldn't be possible in a small Riad), a superb massage and an exquisite dinner (on par with any of the restaurants we visited during our stay) on the night of our arrival. Breakfast (on the roof in the sun to the sound of birds) was delicious every morning.
We will give this stay a straight 10/10, as we simply cannot find any fault.

Arriving at Dar Akal via the terracotta alleyways is an adventure in itself. Once stepping through the old wooden door you are literally transported into another world. The riad has beautiful, traditional features and oozes calm and serenity throughout. The scent of orange blossom greets you along with a bubbling water feature, large plants and trees in the central courtyard which is surrounded by relaxing areas and lounges.
The rooms are all unique, comfortable and are cleaned everyday. The riad is so quiet and relaxing especially after a day out visiting the sites and wandering around the souks. All you can hear is the chattering of little birds from the rooftop.
We were given a very warm welcome by Said and he helped us with maps and landmarks as well as recommendations of places to visit and eat at. He shared his local knowledge and would go out of his way to accommodate our every need.
We especially enjoyed the breakfast on the terrace, over the 4 days it was always something different from local breads, chapatis, cakes, omelets, fruit salads, yogurts, juices and fresh marmalade.
Watching the sun go down at the end of each day on the terrace with a pot of mint tea was one of our favourite parts of the day.
The location was fantastic as you could walk to the souk, secret garden and Madrasa Ben Youssef to name a few but even though you were centrally located it was so quiet.

Our stay at the riad was absolutely wonderful. The property is exceptionally clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, always making sure we felt welcome and cared for. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable stay. Everything from the beautiful ambiance to the outstanding service exceeded our expectations!

Wonderful experience and a warm welcome team with Said and his crew. Beautiful food also with deserves at least one meal. Nice experience in the spa also with hammam.
Location is great as it's only 15 minutes away from Place Jemaa El Fna and all Souks around.

Everything about Dar Akal was magical. We spent our first 2 nights in Morocco here and what a way to start. We can’t say enough great things about Said, our host. Such a gracious human being. He walked out to pick us up from the car, gave us a great first walk about in the madina to get us comfortable and even walked us back when we were leaving Marrakech. Also brought us breakfast early to our room the morning we were leaving. I think dar akal was such a great experience in large part due to Said.
We had a 2 bedroom suite with two beautiful large bedrooms and a large sitting area. The scent of orange blossom always welcomed you in the Riad. The breakfast was fantastic and we even got dinner the first night we were there.
Highly recommend Riad Dar Akal. A must stay.
