We arrived in Fez on May 1st and we came to pick up a taxi that took us directly to a parking lot next to the Medina, where we came to pick up Laurence, owner, with her husband Bernard, of the Dar Melody. The hotel is 3 minutes from the parking. The beauty of the Riad/Dar (house in Arabic) left us in awe, it is an old Arab house reformed with an incredible interior courtyard. The house still retains its original wall tiles and engravings and each corner is carefully decorated.
We had the orange room, which is very spacious and very nice, with a very large Japanese bed (futon) Super comfortable. The bathroom is also very large with a wide shower and no problem with the hot water.
There is also a terrace overlooking the medina, to which we were going to eat a sandwich, the nights we were too tired to leave.
Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is great: you make natural juices, there are Moroccan crepes, pancakes, Moroccan bread, coffee, tea… I advise you to try the dough of caramel to spread that they make in the house! Great! Not the typical tasteless breakfast you get in an all inclusive hotel. They look after you and care about you.
Speaking of which, although the Dar Melody is perfect, the best part is taken by French owners (although also handled in other languages) Laurence and Bernard. They made us feel at home, like family.
