Hostal Catedral Hostel

The best thing next to the absolute central location, was the spacious bathroom with big shower cabins. The rest did not appear as expected. Small room with very shaky bulk beds and lots of noice starting in the kitchen already by 5am. The breakfast was freshly made which was good but most of the dishes were not clean at all. This is not really a place for travelers, lots of people stay there because they're working in Merida etc.

Nothing special. But it's totally fine for staying two or three nights.
It has a good location and they serve good breakfast.
So all you need!

Breakfast buffet included, you are greeted with a very cold drink. Clean rooms with weather. Bathroom and showers clean and with climate.

Best bathrooms in Mexico. Ridiculously central location and a pretty decent buffet breakfast. Staff were helpful in suggesting carnavale events. They could use some some seats and/or shade on the roof but I'd still highly recommend them.

Warning noise from the city and the red light, clean. Ideally placed.

It has rooms of up to 8 people. They include breakfast, Wi-Fi, A/C, fans. They have a dining room of 20 people, for a short stay this perfect. Always clean toilets, showers have hot water, there are more than one. The manager is very attentive and responds kindly to every question. Very friendly staff. It is small the basic place to sleep and only have breakfast. In front of the Cathedral and Park Plaza Grande with nice view. Close to banks and restaurants as well as theatres and museums. Accessibility to state tourism.

Decent dormitory in a beautiful establishment, sanitary very clean, lunch included but late from 8am. Parking at 300m included, cons young Asian woman very unpleasant to the breasts of the staff.

Really great hostal in a fantastic location. Couldn't get a better location. Only reason for not given 5 starts is because of reception staff and their knowledge of the local area that was often wrong. Other than that really enjoyed my stay here. Breakfast was good here.

The location of the hostel is excellent. The rooms are large as are the bathrooms and the cleaning is great. The treatment of the receptionists is not good, do not tend to offer advice on activities or tours to do. The breakfast is bad, you don't have variety of fruits, or cereals and single-serve coffee to drink. Could improve.

Great location, can't get more local then that, a/c works way too good, clean, nice staff, enjoyed everything there, good Wi-Fi and view from breakfast table.

I had read that they were giving a glass of water when they entered, which is not true. In other reviews they said it was one of the best hostels they had ever been in, which I think is an exaggeration. Leaving that aside, yes it is very good hostel: good location, price, cleanliness, atmosphere, etc. Yes I recommend it.

The place is cool, very nice.

It is very nice, has good views, is clean and spacious. It only has a great but, one of the receptionist has the worst attention I have had in my life. Nobody asks people to be happy, but at least pretend. As a customer service, your job is not to make people happy, but let alone make them miserable.

Spotlessly clean, I can honestly say I have never been to such a clean hostel, it is cleaner than many hotels I have been to. The staff are really nice, polite and helpful. One thing that may be a slight concern to some people is the fact that it seems anyone could walk in off the street as the front door is always open and the hostel do not ask you to wear wrist bands or anything, that being said the reception is constantly manned and the hostel provides large lockers for personal belongings and I felt safe at all times here. Excellent toilets/showers, hot water, good kitchen and breakfast provided for free (melon, sandwiches, cereal, eggs, coffee, juice). I would be more than happy to stay here again.

A perfectly located hostel, right at the central square. Staff is super friendly and I haven't seen as clean bathrooms in any other hostel here. Breakfast is very good too!

Great hostel. Unbelievable how cheap this place is considering the location and the free breakfast. They even gave us a free glass of cold fresh watermelon juice when we arrived which was amazing. Friendly staff who also speak English which is great for gringos like me. Highly recommend this place.
