Nômade Temple Tulum

Traveling with a small baby, we truly appreciated the exceptional service at Nomade Tulum. From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive, thoughtful, and made us feel completely taken care of.
The food was absolutely delicious—we really enjoyed both the main restaurant and the beach restaurant.
We also want to specifically highlight Sofia from the concierge team, who provided outstanding service throughout our stay. In a situation where we were initially given a different room than the one we had booked, she acted quickly, efficiently, and with so much kindness. She immediately took care of everything and upgraded us to a perfect room, making the whole experience seamless and stress-free.
With a baby, it’s all about the little details and the feeling you get—and she truly made our stay so much smoother and more enjoyable.

Recently spent 4 days at the Nomade Tulum. It's a special place on a beautiful stretch of beach with a relaxing vibe that makes you feel like you really escaped. Wonderful food offering, a bohemian/idyllic setting and the highlight is without a doubt the extensive wellness/holistic offering. It was my first time doing many of the holistic/wellness activities and all of the staff was welcoming, understanding and made me feel at ease to explore and try new things (breathwork, sound, pilates, reiki, etc. ). A special shout out to Jose and Sol in the welllness area who are beyond gracious and knowledgeable and always available and generous with their time and compassion adding to the already wonderful setting at Nomade Tulum.

I really wanted to love Nomade Tulum—the property itself is undeniably beautiful. Unfortunately, the service and overall experience made my stay incredibly stressful instead of relaxing.
Staff focused on tips, not service.
From the beginning, most interactions felt transactional, as if the priority was tips rather than guest experience. There was little warmth or care in how we were treated.
Hotel-arranged taxi was not safe or professional.
We booked a taxi directly through the hotel because they said it was “safer” than street taxis. In reality, it was the opposite. The driver kept insisting we tell him the price in pesos and then missed the destination multiple times. It felt unprofessional and definitely not what you expect from a hotel in this price range. The hotel didn’t seem to take responsibility for the situation either.
Hidden charges everywhere.
Although breakfast was included, we were charged extra even for a simple espresso (138 pesos). On top of that, almost everything—even self-service minibar items—came with an automatic 15% service charge. So the “free breakfast” wasn’t really free at all. At checkout, the bill was presented entirely in USD, making it clear that the hotel caters mostly to American tourists and relies heavily on hidden costs.
Beach club pressure & poor hospitality.
The beach club is supposed to be included for guests, yet I was repeatedly asked whether I actually had a room and felt pushed to buy things constantly.

Nomade Tulum is beautiful, but the experience was honestly terrible. The staff felt more interested in tips than in actually helping. The hotel arranged a “safer” taxi for us, which turned out to be the opposite: the driver kept asking for the price in pesos, missed the destination several times, and was anything but professional. The staff didn’t even care to apologise.
The “included” breakfast wasn’t really included—there’s an extra charge for even a basic espresso (138 pesos), and almost everything comes with a forced 15% service fee. Even self-service items! At checkout, the final bill was presented entirely in USD, clearly catering only to American tourists.
The beach club is supposed to be included for guests, but the staff repeatedly questioned whether we had a room and kept pushing us to buy things. Our suite looked nice at first, but the couch pillows and headboard had stains, and housekeeping only came when we specifically asked.
The setting is gorgeous, but the hidden costs, careless service, and constant pressure to spend completely ruined the stay. Definitely not worth it.

The village is among the jungle, rooms are tent (which I liked). Rooms are very simple (not even a TV in the room) and toilet and shower are outside the room. These are acceptable for me. But only place you can eat is beach restaurant. One sushi restaurant, but you can not order. You have to eat their set menu for around 150 US $. The main restaurant is in only open for breakfast. In general only place you can sit is beach. Service in general much below my expectations for such a high priced restaurant. It was my first and the last time.

Me and 3 girlfriends visited the Macondo and La Popular multiple times during our stay in Tulum. The service was really incredible and we felt very welcomed every time, despite not staying at the hotel. The food at Macondo is my absolute favorite. The mushroom shawarma was incredible (please can I have the recipe? ), the eggplants are delicious. Also the kitchen was also very accommodating with all our preferences and allergies.
The music on Friday was incredible. Thank you Nomade team.

My experience staying at this hotel was, unfortunately, mixed, with several notable shortcomings.
Rooms and Safety:
At night, I found a scorpion on the floor in my room. With my poor eyesight, I narrowly avoided stepping on it. The staff’s response was very formal: I was moved to another room of the same standard, without any apology.
The rooms clearly require renovation: there are signs of rust everywhere, the plumbing does not work perfectly, and the pipes show traces of calcification. The toilet makes noises, the water in the sink drains poorly, rusty hangers stain clothes, and many light bulbs were not working.
There were several power outages. In most cases, electricity was restored quickly, but at times the power was out for over an hour.
Mini-bar:
The mini-bar had no price labels, and to my surprise, when checking out at the front desk, I received a bill of usd 38 for two bottles of beer and two bottles of Coca-Cola (be careful).
Service:
There were occasional signs of staff irritation at the reception, and tipping was frequently suggested, including the standard 15% service charge. Room service was unavailable, and housekeeping was disappointing — I had to dust surfaces myself.
Infrastructure:
There is no gym or pool, air conditioning does not always work properly, and there are no desks or private spaces for work. Construction is ongoing on the property, which sometimes creates noise, and the music can be loud.

My partner and I had an incredible stay here at the Nômade in Tulum. Everything from the peaceful atmosphere, the entire staff, exceptional food, and beautiful rooms was so much more than we envisioned. We had an epic stay! Nestor, Eric and Antonio at the service desk were so accommodating for everything and we truly felt that the quality of our experience mattered. So grateful for our time here and cannot recommend enough!

We had a four-night reservation at a hotel called Nomade Tulum. Due to an emergency, we had to leave early and stayed only three nights. However, the hotel did not refund the fee for the remaining night, which we didn’t stay. We were very dissatisfied with the hotel overall. The rooms were extremely uncomfortable. Because of the bad weather, it rained almost every night, and rainwater was dripping from the ceiling onto the bed. There was barely any lighting in the room, and the overall comfort was far below expectations. It was a very disappointing stay.

Every time I am in Tulum, I make sure to spend some time here. I either have lunch at their beach restaurant or lounge by their day beds for a relaxing, boho vibe afternoon. (I have also stayed in one of their glamping tentes and done almost all their scheduled activities. Feel at home here, x.

Amazing resort! We stayed in a Tierra suite for our honeymoon. It’s farther down the Tulum hotel strip so you feel more secluded. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and the food was delicious. The grounds are beautiful. The events they hosted were also quite well done; we went during their intimacy weekend and it was extremely professional and introspective. Would come here again.

I stayed at Nomade Tulum for a week and had a wonderful experience. The restaurants were fantastic—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Service was great throughout my stay, attentive without being intrusive—special shout out to Fermín and Pedro—.
I also joined a breathwork session, which was such a unique and calming experience. Most days I relaxed by the beach, which was peaceful and never felt crowded. Overall, the vibe here is laid-back but thoughtful, with excellent food, service, and wellness experiences. Would definitely come back!

I have stayed at Nomade many times by now. Every time I am in Tulum, Nomade Tulum, is the place to go. Everything is magical. The property with its jungle and Yoga Shala, with the restaurants and the beach, truly magical. I could go there again and again and it always feels as first time. The food is amazing, Macando for breakfast and La Populare for lunch on the beach is magical. The activities are soulful! Truly a full soulful experience!

Everything about Nomade is fantastic. I literally have nothing but great things to say about this resort, and after all the reviews I've given to resorts all over the world, this is the first time that I have no recommendations for improvement.
The grounds are absolutely fantastic and immediately place you in the different world within a jungle.
The rooms are unlike rooms anywhere else, and spread out like huts or small bungalows around the property. They were unique, fit the jungle aesthetic, well-maintained, and clean. We were in room 11 which was right in front of La Popular Restaurant and the main beach, which was really outstanding for the view and the vibe. The rest of our family was in a tent-like room with a super-unique outdoor — yet private — bathroom arrangement.
There are a large variety of wellness programs to choose from, many which are included in the resort cost. Some were fantastic, others were just okay, but the variety of programs was really great. Also, a similar vibe extended to the Ya'an spa which included individual freestanding buildings for the spa rooms. The common spa facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, etc. ) were a bit small, but nicely equipped.
The food and drink were great. We enjoyed both La Popular and Macondo or their food, drink, service, and aesthetic. Also, we attended an evening DJ dance party that was well set up and well attended, too.
As you would expect in the Caribbean, there were a lot of mosquitoes there.

Really good! Loved the tents (“bungalows”) and the wellness experiences. It’s the kind of magical place you want to return to. We went off season and it was outstanding.
Just know that prices of wellness experiences exclude VAT and they charge 15% service charge on the “free” breakfast.

A True Oasis – Can’t Wait to Return!

The property itself is absolutely stunning—every corner is thoughtfully designed and surrounded by natural beauty, creating such a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere.
Breakfast each morning was a highlight—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I felt completely safe throughout my stay, which made it even easier to relax and enjoy every moment.
This is the kind of place I could return to every year. It’s more than just a hotel—it’s an experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene and memorable getaway!

Wonderful hotel with a laid back vibe.
Located on a beautiful quiet stretch of beach in South Tulum. A fabulous property — in a lush green forest with plenty of space for quiet contemplation.
The wellness programmes curated by a group of excellent wellness professionals and other activities centres around music. Highly recommend dipping your toes into these — they cater for all levels even for the uninitiated!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a real cha ce to disengage and reset.
