Beautiful place facing the sea, excellent attention of the staff, impeccable facilities¡

Wait staff at the restaurant spoke very broken English. Hard to order anything. Sat for 20 min before anyone decided to take our order, and that is because I had to plead that someone take it. BTW, we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant and it was 12:30pm on a Sat. I guess that should have been our first indication that this experience was not going to be optimal. 30 more min passed and still no appetizers delivered to the table or even a revisit from a waiter to allow us to order more drinks.

Don’t touch this hotel, Broken, Tired, drugs on the beach, and they just robbed us of nearly 5000 euros which they are refusing to give back! A total shambles! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! All style no substance, a terrible terrible place that’s water damaged, falling apart at the seams and has the worst service in Latin America.

This place is the best good food and the waiters very attentive very good service.

I liked that it was an adults only hotel, I was fascinated that the rooms were a little dark by the dense jungle, it invites you to the highlight and privacy. Large and comfortable suites very well room service, only q to leave the tray outside the piece no one removes them until noon. It's a detail I would go back a thousand times.

FRAUD! They stole 4, 000 dollars from me and my husband. We were planning on getting married and had to push our stay due to the virus. Betulum would not allow us to receive credit nor a refund. This results in a bride yet again deal with stress during the pandemic and not have her wedding. Don’t stay there. If Betulum was a respectful place, they would answer our phone calls, rather than block me on Instagram and deleting my honest comments about their fraud.

Such a beautiful hotel in all aspects. Everything is breathtaking and just when you thought it could not get better it does, from rooms to waiters at the restaurant.

"My family and I have been having a really bad experience with this hotel and it is extremely stressful. We booked the nicest casita they have back in June for this coming Christmas. As the fall approached, we gradually realized that Covid wasn't going to be getting any better, and we have a couple of immune compromised people in our party that we are worried about. We told the hotel this and asked if we could move our reservation to Christmas 2021 and they said that we can't. They are only allowing us to use it before June. This is really off-putting, considering the caliber of this hotel. We don't expect our money back, but we are extremely shocked that given the circumstances of a non-abating pandemic that they would continue to enforce this absurd policy. I am writing this in the hopes that they will change their minds, as we cannot afford to just lose the money and not use the booking, but we cannot all make it to Tulum between January and June. I'd warn anyone who expects even decent customer service and flexibility during Covid to avoid this property like the plague. We cannot believe how we are being treated. "

Best place to spend the whole day at the beach! Great ambient, music and drinks.

Perfect place to eat on the beach — my favorite breakfast place. Excellent service and food selection. The hotel is also stunningly beautiful with a very natural environment of trees and thick vegetation mixed in with luxury. Perfecto for a romantic escape or just a wonderful breakfast! you will not be disappointed.

My wife and literally just found out that we are having a baby… so clearly we cant travel… and they refused to refund my $1600 reservation. Even during these times? Heartless… I am new a father and need all the $$ I can get right now… How can a multi-million dollar hotel chain be so cutthroat and soulless. Even during a pandemic… I think it shows the true nature of who they are and what they are all about. For me, for my soon to be young family… choose a different hotel.

Fantastic boutique hotel right on the beach. Be sure to request a casita that looks at the water. Staff is great. Food is great. You can walk to all the cool spots on the beach road or borrow a bike.

We went with a group of 10 people and all agreed that we won't be back. The service at the restaurant on the beach and the general service of the front desk staff was AWFUL! We also didn't have any running water in our rooms on multiple occasions. It's a gorgeous hotel but they make you feel like your inconveniencing them. For what Be Tulum charges a night, they should at the very least make you feel welcome. We also witnessed multiple broken glasses around the beach area and the staff did nothing to clean them up. For being a "barefoot" hotel, I didn't feel safe walking around anywhere without shoes.

Very different experience. I loved everything about it will come again.

It's been 5 months that seaweed spills on the beaches of Mexico but of course we prefer to make you pay the high price and spoil your holiday once there. Don't go there!

We stayed in their least expensive room — absolutely loved it! The entire resort is beautifully manicured down to the smallest detail. The staff constantly stoked copal scented coal pits — the fragrance of copal will forever take me back… The food was amazing and not overly priced. I recommend getting up as early as possible to enjoy the incredible breakfast, and sunrise, with the entire beach to yourself. The staff was very accommodating, they brought us complimentary champagne upon learning it was our honeymoon. The beach was constantly covered with seaweed which is a negative of going in early June, but they constantly were raking the beach to keep it clean and the rates are much cheaper that time of year. We can't wait to go back and are so grateful for our experience at BeTulum!

The beach is beautiful but full of greengras and the staff is not qualified for a 5 stars hotel.

Be Tulum is probably one of the nicest places you can stay in Tulum. Most rooms have their own pools or deck with outdoor bath tub. Our room had large pool with outdoor space with pool chairs and table. Everyone was very helpful during our stay and tried to make sure we are taken care off. There are couple reasons I am taking one star off. When we arrived there was no hot water to take a shower and no internet in the room and there is no phone signal, so any business that needed to be taken care of had to wait until the hotel tech fixed the issue. He did a great job and in 30 min it was up and running. We were instructed to put any valuables and money in to a safe that is in the room. We were hungry so we did not thought of it much and went to the hotel restaurant. When we returned, turn down service had already prepared our room for the evening and someone went and had taken some money out of the stack we had. It was addressed with the GM and she tried to make it up to us by hosting us for one of our guest's birthday at the hotel's restaurant. We dined there several times and the food is excellent. When we came for our reservation table was set for us, but no flowers or anything to make the table festive or special. I advised just in case the waiter to be aware that the girl in the head of the table is celebrating her birthday to make sure to put a candle in her desert. I thought for sure the GM made sure the staff is aware of the reason of our dinner celebration.

While visiting with friends we were handed a bill that identified us at “nig**s” they have now deleted their social media and have yet to apologize. POC don’t come here. You are not welcomed.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in early June. Still at the mid season so it wasnt crowded at all. A bit of a party vibe on weekends, but we thought it was fun and still quite chill. Great margaritas. Lovely, hip rooms that are all a bit different. The front desk staff went out of their way to make us feel at taken care of and all of the staff were lovely. You are in the jungle though, bring bug spray. Also, the Michelin starred restaurant is a great place for dinner. Food at the main restaurant is better at lunch.

Overpriced for the level of amenities. Disappointment. However: great food. We traveled to Tulum to visit a wedding of our friend. We have spent 200, 300, and 400 bucks on hotel rooms before. If there is a value in it, we will pay it gladly. The value is just not there to pay $500 for BeTulum. For that type of price you should get the service and amenities of something like RitzCarlton service. You don't get that at BeTulum. The front desk is not welcoming or relaxing. The rooms are dark and aren't kept that clean. The decor is interesting and the rooms are big. But, there isn't good room to put your clothes or feel like you can unwind in the room. Food. I can tell you this, the food here is fantastic. If I were to come to Tulum again, I wouldn't stay here again. However, I would recommend you eat there in a heartbeat. The seafood is fresh. I recommend the grilled octopus. I would also give high praise to the work done in setting up the wedding. The wedding food was better than you could hope for and the service was flawless. The staff made the event very fun. I give a 3-star review because it is clear this hotel can do better, and they aren't. You should not stay here because you can't pay $500 and get this level of service and amenities and be happy with it.

50 usd minimum to stay at the beach for people not from the hotel. Sea grass everywhere at the beach. Prices way too high for quality of food.

Beautiful Hotel by the seaside. Modern frame and wooden design that fits nicely into the vegetation. The restaurant is very good and if you catch up a table on the beach you will enjoy a nice time! Sunbeds and beds available to bask in the sun.

The food it's amazing, everything was beyond my expectations! The green vegetarian dish, the lamb, the chocolate dessert! I don't think there is one thing I would change in the kitchen. Congrats to the chef and his crew!

The food was ok but the servings were small. I didn't stay there. The beach was nice. Plenty of space and chairs tables to sit on. I didn't go in the water but it looked acceptable to swim in. No seaweed along the coastline and no smell.

Beautiful design, terrible service. The place is one of the most beautiful hotel & restaurant in Tulum, with an amazing architecture and beautiful beach side. Food is all right, not the best you will find in the area, but ok. Service on the other hand is terrible. The personnel is terribly unwelcoming and unfriendly, making you feel as an outcast and is probably the reason why I will not go to Be Tulum again. A pity for such a huge investment made into this place.

We stayed at Be Tulum for a week of our honeymoon. The hotel forgot to arrange our transfer from the airport to the hotel so we had to call them on the morning of our flight to remind them. The service in the restaurant was not good and the staff not attentive on the whole considering how much the rooms were costing us. The fish of the day everyday was red snapper, we were really looking forward to eating some seafood but were not inspired. Water was not free at breakfast, in fact everything had a charge and they always included a tip in our bill, which is meant to be optional. Upon check out we had settled our final bill the night before but as we were leaving the next morning, the restaurant called reception to say that we had a bottle of water at breakfast and we were charged — they could have put it on the house considering we just spent a fortune with them! My husband got food poisoning at one of their restaurants. Our room was damp and when housekeeping washed the floor in the morning it hadn’t dried by the evening. We also had a crumbling ceiling in our room where the air con was located, so they attempted to fix it and moved us to a different room eventually. The decor of the rooms was not to our liking as the walls and the sheets were dark, I prefer rooms with light and crisp white sheets.

We stayed here for a week during our honeymoon. While we felt relaxed and enjoyed the beach we found the main staff hostile, and the hotel damp, dirty and heavily overpriced. Nothing really seemed on point. Of course were exceptions. We felt abruptly, with food poisoning and more tired than when we arrived. The hotel has great potential, but for now it just doesn’t work.

Very poor experience stopping in for two cocktails. All on the menu are around 200 pesos each, bartenders told us they would make us something similar but even better and then charged us 1, 000 pesos for the two. Ridiculous to make something 2.5x the standard price without saying something, and that price ($26 US) may be the most expensive cocktail I’ve ever seen — above New York, London, Zurich… Beware the rip off in this place!

Great, chilled atmosphere. The perfect place to disconnect from the world and enjoy a nice afternoon at the beach with some cocktails.

A beautiful place in Tulum to spend unforgettable evenings.

Fantastic hotel! love the rooms and hotel grounds, food is pretty good. However, they allow people that are not guests of this hotel to use the beach. At this price, I’d expect it to be a private beach! The front reception needs some work, when I arrived no one was there to grab the luggage. Again, if I am paying nearly 600+ per night, it’d be normal to expect a bell boy at the entrance. Front desk service was mediocre, didn’t feel welcoming. Overall, good but not great. Environment is great but the service is lacking for what you pay for.

The restaurant has some divine flavours. The staff are knowledgeable about the local offerings, and even took time out of the dinner hour to bring a group of recently hatched turtles to the beach! Amazing experience all around.

Be Tulum has nailed the boho feel and look. It's one of the last hotels on the Tulum strip, which makes it sufficiently isolated to feel like you're the one that discovered it.

Simply the best hotel experience I have ever had. Flawless in all ways.

Overall the hotel grounds as well as the rooms are very well designed. We stayed in one of the upper rooms which had a large bath tub in the middle of the room and a little balcony to enjoy the 'jungle' view. Every morning we were woken up by the songs of the birds of paradise. Be Tulum certainly is a hip place for couples. The location is certainly good. It's all the way at the south end of the strip which means you'll have a bit of a distance to most places in town, but the hotel provides free bikes and cabs are usually quickly available in Tulum. One issue during our stay was that there were a few people who weren't guests at the hotel (it became apparent that they were walking in from a neighboring building) who camped out at the hotel restaurant. You have to understand that the hotel grounds and restaurant area are tiny so having somebody be constantly on the phone loudly discussing his business while you're enjoying your breakfast on your vacation is certainly a jarring experience. Given that this was a while ago (I am writing this review for our stay in 2016) and this might have been a one time issue I am not letting this influence my review but believe it is important to bring up. The reason why Be Tulum doesn't deserve 5 stars in our opinion is because we believe there is a mismatch between the overall quality of the service and hotel amenities and the price you pay here per night. But it's definitely a hip place to be.

Be Tulum is an aesthically pleasing hotel that lacks functionality and clarity. Throughout our time here we find ourselves second guessing on how things function/work at Be Tulum. Whether it be the way one orders breakfast and the additional costs one may incur or directions to where things are located within the hotel or the lack of a luggage rack for its guests or the lack of clean beach towels or how things are explained between its staff and guests (I speak Spanish fluently) are a few examples. Be Tulum is picturesque place and makes for great social media posts, but aesthetics without function is meaningless. I finish my review with this quote by Dieter Rams, "My heart belongs to the details. I actually always found them to be more important than the big picture. Nothing works without details. They are everything, the baseline of quality. "

Came here for a drink before going to a nearby spa; staff was incredibly friendly. Had a tiny issue with communication and a gentleman jumped up to help. Was very knowledgeable so I asked him if he was a manager and he humbly confirmed that he was. The kindness and dedication to great customer service flowed through him and every employee. We looked at this hotel before we came and booked somewhere else; while our hotel is beautiful we are sad we did not stay here. Great service! Make sure to come!

Ate lunch here and it was devine. Restaurant looks over the beach. Decor is very 'laid back luxury'. Had the watermelon salad and if salads tasted like that always I'd never eat anything else!

Unforgettable experience! We booked 5 days for our 10 year anniversary and never felt the need to leave the property. (It doesn't hurt we had one of the ocean view rooms, albeit a bit pricey but totally worth it). The grounds are beautifully kept and the whole property is seamlessly integrated into the jungle and beach. Food was always delicious and service was top notch across the board! It wasn't very busy when we were there so I'm sure that was part of the enjoyment as the beach was rarely crowded.

We went there for enjoying the beach, we weren't even their customers but we asked them and they accepted us if we spend $35 USD each on food and drink per person that we can use their location and sunbed. After that 2 people came over on different times and asked us to move another sunbed location which is located somewhere in the corner, they said their customers have priority to use closest sunbeds. Well, I agree somehow but if you don't want external customers then don't let them in. If you let them in, don't come up with can and cannots. Wasn't acceptable the way they treat us.

Com Booked a hotel on there and they had the cheapest rates around… Integration of hotel with jungle is well done, comfortable rooms, good food and situated on a beautiful part of the beach. Service is a little hit or miss, and place is quite expensive for what it is.

Be Tulum is a tucked away jungle paradise. Situated at the far end of the hotel zone, it is the perfect escape. We absolutely love the staff — so kind and genuinely invested in making our trip the best it can be. The rooms are stunning. The lace curtains are such a trendy touch. However, we have spent most of our time on the beautiful beach or enjoying the atmosphere of the restaurant & bar area. Everything about this place feels like a home away from home.

Thanks for the best vacation, Be Tulum! We loved everything about this spot in paradise. We were in a Garden Suite and couldn't have been happier with the light and bright décor, private pool area, and windy path taking us there. Actually prefer it to the darker décor of some of the newer rooms. There was some construction noise, but we didn't find it too bothersome and couldn't hear it from the beach. The food was outstanding and exceeded expectations in both restaurants. The cocktails with fresh fruit were divine. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The live music on Thursday night was fantastic. The massage was one of the best I've experienced. All in all, it was perfection, and we'll be coming back as soon as possible … for a longer trip.

Beautiful place. Accommodations are perfect… Rooms are eco-friendly, but comfortable/luxury. The resort itself is high quality, but doesn't lose that boutique & quintessential Tulum, friendly vibe. Service and food are absolutely top notch! Cannot rave enough about the food and service here! Worth every penny.

This beach front hotel is luxurious, fantastically appointed, and hard to tear yourself away from. With everything else in Tulum to do, you still may find it hard to leave the refuge of your spa or private plunge pool…

Our favorite hotel in Tulum and the best place for a beach-and-poolside lunch. You can't go wrong ordering the guacamole and chips, grilled octopus and fish tacos. Also, you can have the on-site "coconut man" (as I call him) make you a fresh coconut milk drink with a straw.

Don't think I'd want to stay here, as only two of the rooms have an ocean view. But it's a great option for meals. Breakfast was great, as was the dinner. The tuna steak was amazing.

We had dinner one day and had another lunch. Everything is exquisite. Super recommended! We would return many times more!

Super friendly staff, awesome restaurant on the beach, and great location towards the end of the strip where it's a bit quieter. Perks including free (delicious) breakfast, free bikes, paddleboard and skim board for guests to use, and a bonfire on the beach each night. Our room itself was nice, but not spectacular, but the remainder of the hotel made up for it. Will definitely be back!
