Casa Gitano

We visited Casa Gitano during the day, right in the middle of seaweed season in Tulum. Unfortunately, most beaches were not swimmable, but at Casa Gitano the situation was noticeably better, with much less seaweed and a cleaner stretch of sea, which made a big difference.
The food was excellent especially the shrimp and fish tacos, both were standout dishes. The service was friendly and attentive, and overall the place has a beautiful, relaxed beach vibe.
The pool looked nicer in photos than in reality, but it’s still right on the beach and makes for a great spot to relax and take pictures.

I have to say… Casa Gitano has become a very special place for me. There’s something about this corner of Tulum that feels like a true piece of paradise.
Staying here brought me a deep sense of renewal. The energy is so special, the surroundings are beautiful, and it really allows you to slow down and reconnect with yourself.
The rooms are stunning and feel so natural, elegant, warm and thoughtfully designed.
If you’re looking for somewhere that captures the magic, beauty and tranquility of Tulum, Casa Gitano is definitely one of those spots.

What a charming and amazing hotel. I had a wonderful stay—thank you all! 🙏 Between the gorgeous beach club, the spectacular ocean-view pool, and the world-class spa, I couldn't have asked for more.
The highlights didn't stop at sunset; the adventure extended into the night at Gitano Jungle. The atmosphere was legendary, the shows were high-energy, and the dinner was superb. An incredible experience from start to finish!

I really loved staying at Casa Gitano. The views are so beautiful and the location next to Sian Ka’an makes it feel very peaceful and relaxed, away from the busy parts of Tulum. It’s a great place if you want to really switch off and enjoy nature. The daily wellness classes made me starting my day right!
Breakfast was definitely one of my highlights. The fruit plate is amazing — super fresh and so refreshing in the morning. I also loved the smoothies at the beach bar. Sitting there with a smoothie and the ocean in front of you is just perfect.
Such a special place and I would definitely come back. 💞

Beautiful spot with absolutely breathtaking views and immaculately maintained grounds.
The drinks were delicious, and Enrique’s service really stood out — attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. Unfortunately, a few food items weren’t available during our visit, including the sweet potato fries and all of the pizzas. We ended up ordering the chicken skewers and guacamole instead, and both were excellent.
Overall, a great place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and have a few well-made drinks.
Will definitely be back!

Had the best vacay here. Everyone is super friendly and the service is great. Location is amazing room literally right on the beach and it's in an area of the beach zone that's more quiet and sophisticated. I like that there are two separate areas on the beach you can lay at one that's attached to the restaurant if you want a little lively music and one that's quiet exclusively for hotel guests. Also super pet friendly property we really felt welcomed.

Lovely place and quite jungly. Stunning rooms, comfy beds and a sea view! I would have preferred stronger door locks but nothing bad happened. Lots of mosquitoes (that’s the jungle bit…). The staff are nice and helpful and the food was all excellent in the restaurant although the music was always super loud! Nice beach, good sea and you can walk along the beach to other hotels / bars etc.

Loved staying here — truly friendly and helpful staff, stunning restaurant and beach club located at the very end of the hotel strip, so really peaceful and serene. Our room was immaculate and the beds (huge king size) were incredibly comfortable. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious, and we kept booking deep-tissue (“Fire”) spa massages because they were absolutely outstanding. Marina and Amy are not just pros at their techniques, they’re intuitive therapists — cannot recommend highly enough.

Such a lovely spot! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful — large, with two beds (perfect for a friends’ trip) and a front veranda. The food was amazing. Out at the beach, we had our choice of lounge chairs with umbrellas or comfy beds with or without shade. Relaxing, and also a very cool vibe. This is one of the last resorts on the beach, which made it nice and quiet, but still easy to access other places. Highly recommend!

Had an amazing week at Casa Gitano. Went with 14 friends and everyone enjoyed their time. The hotel offers great yoga and wellness classes in the morning, we ended up going every day, led by the wonderful Kali. The service at the beach is attentive and friendly, we loved Cesar, Antonio, Cecilia, Juan, Alan and Jon. The drinks are great thanks to the bartenders Ivan, Davis, and Martin. Many of us ended our trips by getting massages from Marina and Amy. It was the best lymphatic drainage massage I have ever had. The front desk was friendly and helped us out greatly with our large group and complicated reservation a huge thanks to Victoria for helping us put gifts in everyone’s rooms, and Poala and Diana for their patience. And the biggest thanks of all to Era who made our trip smooth and enjoyable! We are all hoping to make it back!

Our stay in casa gitano Tulum was beyond incredible! The room had the most beautiful village-style design with a private pool and a stunning view of the ocean. Everything about this hotel was perfect — there’s truly nothing negative to say. I especially loved that there’s no TV, because it really lets you disconnect and connect with nature instead. It was peaceful, relaxing, and unforgettable. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a magical Tulum experience! 🌴💫

My husband and I stayed at Casa Gitano Tulum to celebrate my 40th birthday, and I honestly can’t imagine a more perfect place to mark such a special milestone. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and effortless hospitality. Ara and Victoria from the concierge team were absolute angels — so kind, so attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They greeted us with complimentary cocktails (which were amazing! ) and surprised me with warm churros to celebrate my birthday — such a sweet and thoughtful touch!
We stayed in one of the beachfront rooms, and waking up to the sound of the waves and opening the door straight onto the sand felt like a dream. The design of the rooms is stunning — earthy, stylish, and deeply calming, with every detail carefully thought through.
We booked a couples massage with Mari Mar Spa, and it was one of the most relaxing experiences we’ve ever had. The setting, the sound of the ocean, and the skill of the therapists made it absolutely heavenly.
Evenings were pure magic, with twinkling lights, cocktails under the palms, and that laid-back, soulful Gitano energy that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into paradise.
Casa Gitano isn’t just a hotel — it’s an experience. The combination of natural beauty, impeccable service, and warm, genuine people made our stay unforgettable. We left feeling recharged, grateful, and already planning our next trip back.

Avoid Casa Gitano. I have visited tulum 5 times and have never had such a horrible experience like this one. We stayed here for part of our honeymoon, and it was such a terrible experience from start to finish.
Our room was dirty when we checked in — the sheets had stains and the towels were dingy. The stains were all and on the outside of the bedding, so I was annoyed but not too concerned. The shower didn’t have hot water. When we used the overhead shower, water sprayed up all over the bathroom due to an issue with the shower head being attached improperly.
We were told breakfast was included, but when we went to the restaurant, we got a bill and were told that only coffee, juice, and toast were covered. They also charged us for an extra breakfast entrée, and after mentioning it to three different staff members, each one accused us of lying. It was shocking.
When we checked out, things got even worse. The front desk said we’d be charged for “damaging the sheets with makeup ” — the same ones that were already stained when we arrived. Both the attendant and the manager accused us of lying again. They showed us pictures of sheets that weren’t ours and said the maids had already taken ours away. Not only did we NOT dirty the sheets, I’ve never even heard of a hotel charging for “makeup” stains. Seems like a way to scam guests for additional costs.
I’ve never been treated so poorly by hotel staff. The treatment we recieved was awful and completely unprofessional.

Casa gitano was such an incredible stay! Te room was big clean and super chic. I celebrated my birthday in tulum and the welcome by the team was amazing. Concierge 100/10 she was amazing (aura). There’s so much stuff near if you walk down the beach. I loved my stay here.

This was one of the best rooms that I've stayed at in all of my years traveling to Tulum. I had a beachfront room, with a beautiful terrace, and I fell asleep and woke up to the waves every night. I had such a lovely stay, & recently spent 8 nights here. Whether you are coming to rest and relax, or work remotely, the property offers dependable Wi-Fi, large & comfortable rooms with desks, and an ample offering of various seating arrangements within the restaurant and the beach club. The staff are incredibly friendly, and greeted me every morning with my favorite iced latte. I enjoyed several massages throughout the week, in their beautiful wellness center, where they also offer yoga in the morning, and is free for guests. I was unable to participate in this event because I am currently recovering from spine surgery, but I will certainly participate during my next visit, as I foresee myself returning to this resort over and over again. Each night, I would walk to my favorite restaurants, which were all within a 15 to 20 minute walk, I was a solo traveler, and felt very safe, and the hotel assisted me with arranging any cabs that I needed throughout my stay. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience here, and look forward to returning soon!

Casa Gitano turned out to be one of the best places we’ve stayed in Tulum. The beachfront location is unbeatable, waking up and having the ocean just a few steps away made every morning feel unforgettable.
Our room was beautifully designed, with a lot of attention to detail, and everything felt spotless and well cared for. It really gave us that cozy, boutique vibe rather than just another hotel stay.
I especially enjoyed the breakfasts — fresh and full of flavor — and in the evenings, their cocktails quickly became our little ritual by the beach. We also joined the yoga sessions, which were such a peaceful way to start the day, and the massage we tried was fantastic, both relaxing and professional.
What I loved most was how the whole place feels both comfortable and stylish, without being pretentious. It felt like a genuine escape where we could really slow down, enjoy the beach, and feel taken care of. Casa Gitano is definitely a spot we’d come back to.

As a content creator, I couldn’t stop filming because every corner of this property is picture-perfect. But beyond the beauty, it was the warmth of the staff and the calm, relaxing vibe that made this place feel so special. I can’t wait to come back! 💛
