This resort is wonderful and a lot of that has to do with the staff! To start — the entertainment staff (Miguel, Charlie, Ivan, Alfonso, and Mariana) are all phenomenal! They made sure every single day was a blast. The pool side servers (specifically Tania, Angeles and America) were so good to us. We never had to wait for a drink! The resort is beautiful but I will say it could use a little updating. However for the price and the service I highly recommend it!

Had a great time here. Food, drinks and service were all top notch. The staff was super friendly and really catered to us. The rooms were large and clean… loved the huge shower. Pools were well kept and clean and they have activities all throughout the day. I highly recommend this resort.

This is our second time at Secrets hotels and this time at Secrets Silversands was the worst experience we ever had during a vacation time. Let me start by explaining to people don’t be fooled by the Unlimited Vacation club because they will waste your time like they did with us. They told us it will be 90 min we ended up spending half day from our vacation to meet with a sales group trying to sale you worthless dream vacation membership. During check in we requested the front desk to upgrade the room since it’s our anniversary she found a cheaper room with ocean view we accepted the deal and we paid upfront. The room smells like an old book the AC is not adequate and the bed was terrible. Requested maintenance to fix the AC during the night but still no air. Unfortunately the ocean is not something you would enjoy which we know already before we went to this resort but the facility is lacking of proper amenities. The food was ok but not what we paid for or what we are expecting from secrets hotels. The worse thing was during checkout we were asked to pay $250 more because the front desk during check in made a mistake and gave us the wrong rate. I don’t know about the positive reviews on this resort but I definitely I do not recommend this place to anyone.

This place is amazing. Lots of entertainment, and the staff really is trying to make our stay even better. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the beach. It's covered really bad with seaweed. They try to scope it up but there is so much we didn't even use the beach. The pools are great and everyone is in a good mood so it's lots of fun. If you do want the beach you can take a taxi over to Cancun and enjoy the amazing beaches there. This is a decent way to save a little money if the beach isn't a big deal to you. I really do recommend this place you'll enjoy it!

The hotel was beautiful, food was delicious & the drinks were fun! However, if you are booking a swim out suite, don't let the pictures fool you. My husband and I PAID FOR and booked a SWIM OUT room with a beach view and that is not what we received. Our room did have a beach view, but no pool. The pool was about 20 feet to the right, where other rooms had the swim out pool. When using the pool all week, we felt extremely creepy bombarding other guests while they were sitting on their patios. Apparently, the room is still considered a "swim out" since the pool is so "close". But to me, a swim out means I should step off of our patio and be able to jump in the pool. We were not accommodated for this AT ALL. We paid the same amount as those who actually had a swim out pool. The ONLY reason we booked this resort for our honeymoon was for a SWIM OUT pool and we did not receive that or any sort of refund. I wish we would have called before checking in to make sure we were guaranteed a swim out pool, but since that is what our reservation said, I assumed that is what we were getting. I would NOT stay here again simply for that reason. Our room was also not available upon check in. We had to wait 3 hours to get into our room after traveling all day.

I am very late on this review. My husband and I stayed here for one week for our honeymoon in Dec 2015. It was nothing short of amazing! The place was immaculate. Our room was clean, beautiful, and was right beside the pool. The spa was fantasic. Food and drinks were great. All of the staff we encountered were so nice and helpful. Our only disappointment, which is out of the control of the resort, is that the beach is not very good for swimming. It is rather rocky and pretty vegetated. But luckily, there was always a pool nearby!

My wife and I stayed at Silversands for our honeymoon and it was an amazing experience. Everything is included, including food at multiple excellent restaurants and drinks at all of their many bars. The spa was also very good and we got a fantastic discount by attending a time-share-esque presentation that included breakfast and a tour of their flagship sister resort. Got discounts and coupons despite not signing on for anything. The staff is all extremely friendly and polite, and the rooms are also very nice. Couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon.

Very beautiful resort. They had a major seaweed issue the whole week we were there so that was a bit of a bummer. The food was good but I have had better at other resorts. I would suggest to do the upgrades and take your own glass with a lid and straw.

Came here for a week for a family member's wedding. The resort was amazing and they treat you like royalty! Very clean resort, staff is constantly tending to the landscape and cleaning up dishes, etc. They are very attentive to your needs. Between 24 hr room service and the restaurants, you will never go hungry (tons of food options). There are several pools to go to. The main pool is where all the fun is and swim up bar but there are several more private pools where you can nap or read. I stayed in a swim up room (all the swim up rooms are off of the more seclusive pools) and it was a great choice. They keep you entertained with activities if you like those. A family member was injured at the resort and they have an onsite doctor there 24/7 which is so helpful! Highly recommend this resort. The beach is so-so but the resort was perfect. The wedding was also beautiful.

This resort has exceeded my expectations. There are several restaurants and the food is amazing. There are many pools and all different activities. The staff are willing to help do whatever it takes to make your vacation seamless and have been so friendly. The beach is so pretty, with fine white sand and the free water sports allowed us to take a guided sailboat out to the reef and swim in the crystal clear water.

A very nice Hotel, sensational facilities and large living areas, is located in Bahia Petempich, near some aquatic games.

Absolutely amazing. Only downside was that in order to get goggles to use at the pool you had to put down a cash deposit (who brings cash to the pool?! ) and they never actually had any. Get there right in the morning if you want to rent any… Or bring your own!

Loved the resort, plenty of bars and dinner restaurants. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly. We felt like we were treated great even though we didn't upgrade to VIP or anything. The only complaint we had was that there weren't enough options of places to eat for lunch. Would recommend.

Luxury Hotel with excellent services and amenities. And very private.

This was my first time to an all inclusive resort and it did not disappoint! Let us begin! Your first impression is going to be great. The lobby area is gorgeous and the concierge is very helpful and always have answers. They have multiple gift shops that are pricey, but that is to be expected at a place like this. There are different types of rooms. We got a junior pool suite and it was very spacious. You have a large bathroom with a jetted to and a big shower with double sinks. You then get a very comfy king size bed with romantic lighting. Then you have a sitting area with couch, tables, and chairs if you order room service. Lastly we had a private balcony with furniture and a view of one of the pools. You will not be short on food. First there is 24/7 room service, so have at it. For breakfast you can also go to the World Cafe buffet or the Coco Cafe. For lunch you have the World Cafe buffet, two outside grills, and the Oceana restaurant. For dinner you have 7 total restaurants to choose from. All very good food, enjoy! Their spa treatments are top notch. We did the hydro therapy and couples massage and both were amazing. There are other options. There are also 8 pools and the beach front to lay out at, but get a chair early cause they fill up fast. Lastly the resort is very safe and had access to lots of activities and entertainment. Never felt in danger and always had options to explore.

Just returned back from Mexico. The Secrets Silversnds Resort is the best resort that I have ever stayed at. Every single staff member went beyond the normal and gave each guest their own special greeting. The food was all amazing at all 7 resturants. The property is very well maintained and the rooms were beyond clean. We will return to this location. And yes, it is safe to drink the water as it is filtered here.

Very good hotel of moderate size with all inclusive, excellent food. We liked the restaurant on the edge of the beach, beautiful view while eating. It is recommended.

This is a beautiful place. Good food and friendly staff. However, even though this stay is costing hundreds a day and it’s all inclusive… you need to go and stand in line to get a reservation for the Japanese restaurant. We waited in line for almost 30 minutes to find out we couldn’t get in till almost 10 pm. You can’t make a reservation for another day you have to go stand in line again. Even as a preferred VIP the concierge can’t help. We have been to several all inclusive, Sandals and another Secrets. Wait in line each day to try and get in for hundreds of dollars a day? This is crazy.

Overall a nice AM Resorts property — the food in all of the restaurants is well above average as far as resort food goes — service is top notch. The rooms are nicely appointed with some aspects being a little outdated. The bar service is very good with servers coming around to all of the outlying pools ever 30 minutes or so. Room service is fast and has a good selection. Evening entertainment is average at best — the live music by the veranda bar is always great. The staff everywhere is friendly and outgoing — they work extremely hard. We shared our room with ants… they fumigated but they just kept coming back. It's a nice property but check out Secrets Vallarta Bay if you want a luxurious experience!

The resort is stellar, as all Secrets we have been to. The staff is friendly and extremely polite. The grounds are super clean and everything is easily identifiable. The fixtures in the bathrooms are a little outdated, but they work, which is what matters. We contacted the front desk about an issue with the lights, which they were aware of, and very apologetic about, but also explained how we could "fix" it, as a permanent solution is in the works. Good food, plenty of entertainment (they set up rooms to watch the football championships) and awesome pools and beach.

It was an amazing experience, I spent my honeymoon there. There are 5 restaurants for dinner with a great variety of food, the pools are great and the service by the staff is top notch. To my taste the only thing I leave to wish is the beach because it has a lot of seaweed and not deep.

Definitely the best hotels in the entire Mayan Riviera. The service provided by the staff is definitely a 5-star.

This hotel is located in Puerto Morelos in the Petempich Bay complex. It is a hotel that manages all inclusive.

This place is fantastic! Always something going on. Relax at one of 7 pools, hit the beach for a walk or relax in the sand. Someone is always near by to refresh your drink or help in any way. At night choose from 6 different restaurants all with different specialties. Night time attire for dinner is dress slacks and closed toe shoes for men, For the ladies there isn't a dress code. Nightly entertainment at the main bar with lots of great bands. The complex is huge and very well maintained. The junior suite was very clean and spacious. 24 hour room service is available at no cost for all inclusive. The excursions are well planned and convenient. Highly recommend this place.

Do not stay at this resort. We had a diamond ring, perfume, cologne, money and versace sunglasses stolen from our room. When we got security involved they treated us like the criminals and went through all our stuff. Security must have been in on it… It was one of the worst travelling experiences to date. We stayed for five days and were running to the bathroom constantly. We never were compensated for our stolen stuff and were sent an email upon arriving back in Canada from the head of security stating that a complete investigation found that nothing suspicious had gone on in our room. Yet the diamond/gold ring that was taken from my suitcase along with the ring box it came in could only have been stolen by housekeeping or security. My partner kept telling me money and his cologne was missing but I thought he was mistaken or misplaced it. It was not till we were ready to checkout and I went to put the ring into my purse to bring with me on the plane I realized it had been stolen. horrible outcome — horrible customer service.

Mostly disappointed by our stay. I got sick, was running to the bathroom every two hours even at night. Luckily I didn't get sick until I made it home where there is a little more comfort. My husband seems to have warded off any sickness though. The last hour of swimming in the ocean my husband got bit on the behind and now has several teeth marks from possibly a yellow fish. The lifegaurd did a decent job of cleaning and bandaging it up. The hotel looked dated and our jacuzzi wouldn't fill. We had to ask the front desk more than once to look at the jacuzzi and to change our sign to honeymoon instead of happy anniversary. The best part of our stay is that the staff, especially entertainment staff (Dylan and Miguel) are incredibly friendly. Not sure if I would stay again between getting sick and the issues with the room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent. Of the best I've visited in the Mayan Riviera.

The service is exceptional at both the restaurants and around the resort. We were quickly greeted with chilled champagne when we arrived and we were taken to a relaxing spot to check in with more champagne available. So far, all our meals have been superb and I would gladly eat them all again!

I liked the no reservation dining. Also the staff was incredible. The main pool area did fill fast everyday, but I prefer the beach. Which was ok. A little rocky in spots. The food was excellent. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable.

I went to the World Cafe restaurant, I've been attending that restaurant for 7 years when I was in the old Dreams Cancun, now Krystal Cancun. The best Buffet of the Mayan Riviera.

Just returned from a girls trip and OMG we had a fabulous time! We loved Charlie, Myra, and Dylan, as well as the 2 bartenders at the swim up bar they were exceptional! I’ve stayed at all inclusive before, but this one was one of the best! The only thing I’d avoid is the Japanese restaurant it was not good! The French restaurant was absolutely amazing! We will def be going back! Great service!

The waiters, bellboys and lovely ladies waiting on the pools outside were GREAT. For a 4 diamond hotel, we were overall disappointed. The reception area couches were filthy and smelled awful. We were taken to the "preferred club" (joke) and were at least in a more private area to check in. Our traveling companions had an emergency at home and had to leave after a day. NO ONE in the hotel "preferred club"or main hotel did anything to assist them in finding emergency transportation home except pointing them to a hotel laptop that was yahoo. Mx (in Spanish). Luckily, the Vacation Express/Nexus representative jumped in to help and we got them home. Once in our room, it was clean, cool, and well maintained. Even though you have a thermostat in your room, the temperature is clearly warmer by morning. Mini fridge was filled daily and we were able to call room service and request specifics. You could use a kayak free, but it isn't a kayak appropriate for the ocean. Small catamarans are available for free too. Snorkeling was "available" and upon asking they would tell you the additional fees. There were lots of unclear answers to simple questions. We were offered the"opportunity"to go visit one of the other Secrets properties for a 1.5 hour tour, but then you can stay the rest of the day AND receive free transportation back. They will want to keep your drivers license to do this and hold it hostage until you complete the 5.5 hr tour. NOT on my vacation in another country. Hell no.

This was our first time staying at the Silver Sands and second visit to Mexico. We thought the resort offered nice accommodations overall and as a bonus, we had a preferred club room with the extra amenities like the VIP check in, lounge and private beach area. I thought our room had a slight musty or damp smell/feeling, but our clothes and items did not smell like it when we got home. Our room service was fantastic all week and the food was pretty good. There were a few spots outside along the other buildings that also carried a hint of sewage or mold smell, but I didn’t find it overbearingly offensive. Someone in our building decided to smoke in a non-smoking room, which set off an alarm about a dozen times one night. I believe the staff resolved the issue quickly because it didn’t happen again the additional nights. This was the first time we used the spa services, and I thought they were good, albeit overpriced (as to be expected). Apparently, there was a women’s retreat taking place the same week, and I was surprised at the number of topless sunbathers on the beach. I hadn’t seen this at our previous resort, although I understand it’s typical and I'm not bothered by discretion. Sadly, these particular women seemed to make a spectacle of it (I won’t go into details) and as a result I would prefer a dedicated area on the resort for topless sunbathing or retreat activities.

The staff were perfect. Food was great. Room was very clean and nice. Beach is a bit small but you can walk for miles. Great experience!

Rooms are cleaned multiple times each day, and I'm pretty sure they work 24 hours. Groundskeepers keep the place nice each day. Excellent service and friendly staff. Restaurants are full of good options and mostly fast service. Only Himitsu had huge difficulty with reservations and no luck getting in. 5 stars for the resort and how it operates. Beach was not very appealing with a lot of seaweed and rocks along the shoreline. Not many beach activities in the area and most trips are very expensive. Taxi rides would be $45US to Cancun. Excursions start at $90 per person and can be almost $300 pp. If you are just a couple on holidays, you may run out of things to do fast. Great environment for being with a large group of drinking buddies. If you want a quiet roo. To relax in or enjoy being in the middle of all the excitement, the resort can accommodate you. Even with loud live entertainment our room was far enough to not hear any of it late in the evening.

Pro's: Extremely friendly staff, excellent food, great hotel. The room was clean and very spacious. There are 8 pools to choose from so if there were events going on in the main pool we didn't want to be around, it was no problem to find another place to relax. The Spa was one of the best I have ever been to, and had a very accommodating staff and very relaxing environment. There was lots of entertainment to opt in or out of, and they had events planned for every night of the week. While in the pool or even hanging out on the patio of your room, a waiter/waitress will come around to take your drink orders, and even an Ice Cream man comes by! There were quite a few wedding parties there when we went, so getting close to the swim up bar in the main pool was impossible. This wasn't really a problem though because the waitress who had the route of pools we happened to be spending our time in, came around frequently. Con's: There is some staff who constantly hounds you to up-sell services. There was some pandering for tips and and the concierge approached us on more than one occasion to attend timeshares and sister properties with the goal of pressure sales. Ive been to other "all inclusive" chains, and this one had many options that were not included (as had been in other experiences I have had). Even while we were in the pools, a spa salesmen, a photo salesmen, and a 'romantic dinner' salesman would follow us.

This place is absolutely stunning but there are two shining stars (amongst a truly wonderful staff of the hardest working people you'll ever meet) and they are the activity leaders, Emmanuel and Dylan. These two young men deserve a promotion, a lifetime of good fortune and just a ton of love. They are phenomenal — treat them well.

My husband and I stayed at this resort July 2017. It was amazing the place is beautiful and the staff very gracious and accommodating, Luis from the buffet lounge was amazing, Claudia and Jazmin were also very nice. There was nothing wrong with this resort but the BEACH. The beach was not as nice, it was small and rocky, I was told that they are updating it. Hopefully when we visit again the BEACH will be nicer. I totally recommend this resort.

We had a fabulous time here! Room was nice and always clean, people were great here. Service was awesome for the most part! Great pools, hot tubs and ocean views! Our favorite server was Tania she was always there when we needed anything while sitting at the pool! Anna Banana (from entrtainment) was awesome and so nice to us, always remembered our names and talked to us! We met some very nice people from all over the US and Canada! Would recommend to anyone! Beautiful place!

The resort is located in between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. It is on a quiet beach which have many vendors set up for daytime water activities such as kayaks, Hobie cats, snorkeling and more. The resort staff is super friendly and all we encountered were willing to take an extra step in order to make our trip more memorable. The food is really amazing! We did not have one bad dish and we ate a lot. It's unlimited food and drink and the bars restaurants, special events focusing on both are everywhere and executed very well and tastefully. My one wish is that they had ginger ale, ginger beer and single malt scotch. There are lots of included activities that get you out into the ocean and a wonderful poolside activity director who gets the party really going. I highly recommend Silver Sands and would come back again.

Very relaxing, spa service was amazing, great food, drinks are great, and very clean. The beach was a bit upsetting with all of the seaweed but that could also be seasonal. Overall great stay and would visit again.

This place is awesome! Talk about being waited on hand and foot. Everything you need and want is always at your finger tips. The food in all the restaurants is fabulous.

OMG! I cannot say enough good things. If there's anything I would like, they're there and have it. Over friendly staff, phenominal food, and fantastic atmosphere.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Most staff was very personable, the food was good, There are, however, a few things to be aware of: — A lot of seaweed can wash ashore; you may not have that amazingly beautiful stroll along the coast you have in your head. — The water along the coast has a lot of hidden rocks. One area to the southwest end by the "preferred" beach is basically a 30x30 foot floor made of rocks. It hurts! — Spa prices can be considered high, but may be flexible and they may offer discounts if you ask or bundle. — Girlfriend had some waxing done and she got a pretty bad burn from it; took about a week to heal. — The girl whom did my girlfriends nails did a terrible job. Plus, they were unable or unwilling to do any sort of nail designs; just one color per nail. Speaking of which, they had a very small selection of gel nail polish. — There are "gotchas" or alternatives to many things, but they may not tell you. For example, we asked about SCUBA diving and were directed to AMSTAR to make the arrangements to SCUBA offsite. We later found out that the club house where pool towels are also books SCUBA trip at a reef right off the coast by the resort. — You may get an offer to go offsite to visit another resort for a tour, followed by a heavy sales pitch, in exchange for some amount of "fake" money which is good toward almost anything there; we just used it toward our room.

This hotel was awful. The worst vacation experience that we've ever had. The staff was standoffish, the resort was in disrepair in literally every room, every common area & every pool. Our room had drain flies and the bathroom had such a stink of sulfur that we couldnt even sleep with sliding glass door shut or you would have a headache. We paid for the perferred package with an ocean view swim up suite. Firstly, the room was NOT a swim up room, in fact, none of them are. You have to walk across the crab grass to get to the pools only entry or exit area. The bathroom had a ceiling leak. The first day I went to use the tub, it had mens chest hair or pubic hair in it and it looked as though it had only been wiped down with a laundry towel or something instead of cleaned with actual cleaning products. Also one of the jets was broken and came flying off at me. The sliding glass door handle ripped off upon trying to open the door, they sent someone to fix it and it was broken again within moments. At that point I just left it off since we couldnt shut the door anyway. The pools arent heated and the tiles kept coming off under our feet. I wouldnt normally think they would need to be heated but when its overcast and chilly in the fall, they are really really cold.

Excellent care and service! Amanda is exceptional in the Bar Barracuda, Enya tireless recibiendote from breakfast in the world café and in the food at seaside. The star is the team of Avellino:Osman, Rodrigo, Raul; Martin, etc. With an incredible experience of a romantic dinner.

Great place. Nothing negative. 12/10. Food, coffee, beverages and quality and delicious drink. Excellent Buffet. Clean and well maintained. The beach is beautiful but not for swimming. Lots of pools and deckchairs. + + + as no bracelet, towels already on the chairs, no need to run after. If you want two or more, you take them, they bring others. Adults only, Tranquility assured. We will definitely return.

Excellent service, very good facilities, all inclusive premium. The only bad thing is the beach.
