Tekio Beach Hotel

Excellent stay at Villas el Encanto. Accomodating service, clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, and best of all, beautiful beach right outside.
Highly recommend.

We arrived here late at night due to sporadic ferry schedule.
You can not enter the property from the beach road as there is a huge buiding construction in progress in front.
They use an old trick (practised mainly in Italy and Spain) of showing you the worse dumpy room in the hope that you will transfer to another for MUCH MORE MONEY.
At the reception we were told that the restvation HAS NOT BEEN PAID (even though IT WAS) and to pay them in CASH as they don't even have a terminal. (even though on BOOKING page they accepted Visa and Master Card). I contacted BOOKING. COM for them to call the "hotel" to clarify both these lies.
I received a call back informing that there was no answer from the property so BOOKING CANCELLED THIS RESERVATION REQUESTING THAT WE BOOK ANOTHER HOTEL at night and move elsewhere. As it was physically and logistically impossible to move that night, we decided to stay one night in that horrible property. Next day we paid for the night and moved to another hotel which we personally found nearby.
I know it is impossible by BOOKING to verify all of the untrue information and lies that the property provides, but at the same time BOOKING should take seriously the reports provided by their travellers and correct the information on their web page to prevent another customers to fall into the trap.

My brother and I booked 2 rooms at Villas El Encanto, and enjoyed our stay. I was in directly below his room. I could hear the floor creaking when he walked around, but I sleep with a white noise machine and it was able to block out any sound disturbances. Something to consider if you are a light sleeper though. We had issues with our AC units, but since the weather was not that hot in January, we didn't actually need to use them. The windows and the fans were enough to keep cool at night (I actually even needed to use a blanket from the closet. They provide towels for the beach, and our rooms had refrigerators. The rooms do not safes, but the area really did seem safe. One day I accidentally left my key in my screen door lock, for hours while on a beach walk, and nothing happened. The shower did have hot water most of the time, altho occasionally it was only luke warm (maybe it depends on how many other folks are showering at the same time).
Having the private screen porch with hammock was nice, since mosquitos are a thing here, altho the screens are not 100% bug proof. The beach club beds and area is a short walk, and nice to have. The beach bar can provide drink and food service right to the beach beds.
I think the location is really great, in that you are a short walk to town, but also a bit off the beach and main road. The dune buggies and motorcycles driving on the road are loud, so it's nice to be set back a little bit.
