Che Holbox Hostel & Bar Adults Only

If you think about booking the CHE Hostel, you should definetely book it! Mami Dana and Papi Eddy are putting their hearts in it to make your stay unforgettable. They offer a lot of daily activities and in the night there is always something entertaining going on. We had an unforgettable time there and I would book it everytime again! Gracias por todo.

Quite small so difficult to escape from the party hostel part, the accomations are cheap but the rest is quite expensive and the qualifitu of the food is bed for the price you pay. But overall is nice.

We had a good stay here, the staff were friendly, helpful and always cleaning which was nice to see!
The rooms were clean enough, though each bed didn’t have its own light which meant half the time the room was in total darkness.
Unfortunately (and I understand it’s a problem across the whole island) but the shower pressure was next to none and the toilets never flushed meaning each bowl was full whenever I needed to use it. Again, I understand that it’s down to the island.
It is also on the other side of the island to the main beach, only a 10-15 minute walk but just bear that in mind.
Overall I enjoyed my stay but just be aware of these issues before booking!

I had a wonderful stay at Che Hostel Holbox, and a huge part of that was thanks to Jonathan. Without him, my trip genuinely would not have been half as meaningful or enjoyable.
Jonathan has an incredible way of connecting people — not only bringing guests together, but also introducing us to the local community and way of life. Through him, I was able to experience Holbox beyond the usual visitor’s view: learning about fishing, sharing meals of fresh fish with his local friends, discovering quiet viewpoints to watch the stars, and gaining a real appreciation for the island and its people. These are the moments that stay with you long after you leave.
He is also thoughtful and genuinely kind. When I accidentally left my sunglasses behind after checking out, Jonathan went out of his way to track me down and return them — a small gesture perhaps, but one that speaks volumes about his character and sense of responsibility.
Jonathan is, in my opinion, an essential part of what makes Che Hostel Holbox so special. Along with the rest of the team, he helps create the welcoming, authentic atmosphere that defines the hostel. As someone visiting from Ireland, I felt immediately at home, and that is no small thing.
Any place would be lucky to have Jonathan on their team. He brings warmth, professionalism, and a true passion for people and place, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.

This is a great hostel and the staff are amazing — in particular Eddie. He learns everyone’s names, looks after everyone and is truly a credit to the whole team. I would stay here again for Eddie alone! Thanks Che hostel the rooms are big, the hostel itself is I nice but a little out of the centre, say 7 minute walk so it really isn’t bad. The shower water isn’t very hot but we managed and generally would stay again! Thank you again Eddie you are wonderful and made our stay!

Had a great stay here in a private room. The staff was friendly and daily events were fun. Eduardo was great at the hostel and made sure everyone had an enjoyable time during the days and evenings.

Decent but whattt is going on with the pricing, some nights it’s $10 some it’s $25-30! the latter is definitely not worth the price. Staff were very sweet tho!

Stayed in Che in Isla Holbox and would highly recommend. Very social. Andy and Augustine were incredible and made our experience here once in a lifetime. In more ways than one they saved my life. Can’t thank them enough.

A decent hostel that was generally pretty clean and the pool and rooms are nice. I did find the staff quite unhelpful at times particularly when paying for drinks (they have a wristband system which doesn’t work perfectly) and also when I had food poisoning and was asking if they had any medication and they clearly didn’t want to help and reluctantly only offered me tea. It’s also not as centrally located as some of the other hostels and is super loud — so great if you want to party every night but not great if you want a bit of quiet at times. They also only give one key per booking so my friend and I had to share and knew of groups of 5 sharing one key… The water also stopped working twice during our stay so couldn’t use the toilets, showers, sinks for a while. But the bathrooms were clean and decent quality!

Che Hostel is definitely the place to be if you’re looking for a fun, social atmosphere. It’s a party hostel through and through – so if you’re into that scene, it’s pretty perfect.
It’s located a bit outside the main part of town, so be prepared for a short walk if you want to explore the center. There are daily activities, themed nights, and a communal dinner every evening at 8PM – such a great way to meet people.
One small bonus: you can refill your water bottle for free, which is super nice. Only downside is that when the hostel is fully booked, it can be tricky to find a free spot to chill outside – especially during the day.
Overall, it’s energetic, social, and packed with good vibes. If you’re not into partying, it might be a bit much – but if you are, you’ll love it here.

If I could give 6 stars to this hostel, I would. I absolutely had to get back to work, otherwise I would have extended my stay. I had such a great time, and keeping precious memories of it. What made the Che so special, apart from the place being beautiful, is the staff. They made us feel super safe and welcomed, and were also invested with the guests (lot of activites). Thanks to Mica, Belu, Fausto, Lorna, Ornella and all the others. And a special one to Leandro, who is always there to cook you the best meal and serve it with the nicest smile.
Che was a perfect blend of a party and calm/chill hostel. Perfect for everyone!
Plenty of things to do around. Nice island vibes. Just go and enjoy!

Overpriced for a hostel but rooms were clean. We went for a private room. Bed not the comfiest and it’s loud at night until midnight but it’s a party hostel so was expected. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hostel is about 10 minute walk from shops and beach. Showers are okay but either get super hot or super cold. Hostel felt very safe but expensive for what you get.

By far the best people I have ever met in terms of service and genuinely good people with good intentions. Not a bad word to say about whole experience.
In particular the girls working the evening the bar are amazing!

This is a great hostel if you know what you’re getting into and looking for a specific experience. First, it’s a party hostel so expect noise, drunk people, antics at all hours — but this is a draw to a lot of people too. If you’re looking to make friends and socialize, this is the place. I’ve stayed here twice. Once in dorms while on solo travel, and once couples travelling and booking a private room. The dorms are pretty cramped, tight spaces, and a bit rough sleep/noise wise, but if you just need the basics and are a heavy sleeper, the dorm beds are really comfortable. The private rooms are a very good upgrade from the dorms. They won’t shield you from the noise, but they are definitely nice for a hostel. The atmosphere itself is great. Usually full of great friendly people. There’s always activities planned by the hostel activity coordinator. Option of food and drink on site with themed menu items depending on the day. The pool is chill to hang around. Location wise — it is a bit tucked away down some dirty unmaintained roads, but the island is small enough it’s okay. Hammocks in the back, sheltered communal area for games or reading, and a small hostel kitchen. The roof has great sunrises and sunsets. Often there is yoga classes planned. Overall If you’re planning to socialize, participate in the activities or tours, and just exploring the island on your own — this might be your spot to stay.

Had a great stay here. All the staff working there were very friendly and helpful. There's a bit of a party atmosphere if that's what you're after but also plenty of more quiet communal space if you're looking to chill out/take a night off from the drinking etc. Very fun, but not forced on you if you don't want it. Macu, Sofia, Facu, and Anni were very helpful with the check in/check out process &helped me look up ferry times when I was rushing to leave on my last morning there. All the staff were very helpful.

I enjoyed my stay at the Ché Hostel, they offer so many great activities! We went on a walk with some dogs from the shelter and met some incredible people from the hostel. The hostel is very lively and is only 10min from the beach!
