Aguascalientes Marriott Hotel

I had booked this hotel for a friend, who was traveling to Aguascalientes on vacation with her young children… also specifically booked a Club Level room so that they had access to the Lounge for Breakfast, snacks, drinks and additional space throughout the day. First morning that they were there, no breakfast… they had to buy Breakfast and were told it would be reimbursed at check out… it was not. They had rented a car, and although parking was included, they were forced to pay for parking… this was not reimbursed at checkout. The power went out on the last night that they were at the hotel and were forced to have the room door open for air circulation due to the oppressive heat in the room. Lastly, the elevator stopped and the doors didn't open when headed to the Lounge… she had to force the doors open with her hands in order for her and her kids to escape the elevator. The hotel had no comment.
Overall, the lack of service and care by the hotel staff and management was not even worth a one-start rating… I had even called from the US several times, but there was no interest in helping this mother with her young children. Truly disappointing.

It is modern and new or renewed, you can’t tell. Very neat. It is located next to a nice shopping mall with several good restaurants!

Among the best Marriott’s and Biz Hotels in general I’ve been to (among hundreds of them in 50-ish countries) ❣️Old school in the absolute best sense of the word — high quality material, brilliant attention to detail, bar and reception lounges are extra-ordinary, also standard rooms are very comfy and ”delivers”, and — best of all the people working there are amazing❣️The two young professionals helping me to a fantastic Sunday brunch experience will be remembered for life, brilliant❣️And all this to a very competitive price (as compared to many overprized Marriotts). So thankful for the team at the AGU Marriott. We arrived late due to late out of GDL and the traffic on the road to get here. The valet is worth every pesos. They gave us a late check out of 3pm which was perfect since our AirbNb was not going to be ready until 3pm. The guy at the bar getting a glass of milk for my wife deserves a medal. The Wi-Fi was good, the A/C was a little slow. I would stay here again.

I’ve been staying in this hotel 4-5 times a year during the last 3 years and will not stay anywhere else…. Exceptional service, well trained, friendly and professional staff at all levels, special kudos to the new Chef…and to the two super guys at the executive lounge, Rogelio and Rene who became great friends…. Great place, great people, great service! Stay there.

This is a good hotel located next to a mall with restaurants.
Hotel is usually filled with business employees.
Great common areas including pool, bar, lounge.
Their breakfast is really great, that makes the day!
All being said, the rooms could improve, the cooling does not work well, some of the furniture feels old (or dusty). The cleanliness is great though.

Not a great Marriott experience.
Didn’t get housekeeping service.

The management staff are atrocious and racist. People who are of dark skin are treated in a discriminatory way, I never thought a country that's full of indigenous brown people could behave this way. What a bunch of ignorant people. These people are trying so hard to be white. I feel sorry for them because, no matter how light skin they are, Foreigners will ALWAYS look at them the same way they look on brown skin people. They really need to get their act together.

There's a factory next door, and sometimes during the day, there's a smell coming out of the factory that makes the air impossible to breathe.

Utilized for working away from home. Only problem. Very lukewarm water to take a shower. Fast with room service but if sitting at a bar to eat. Slow service after food is delivered. Waited 20 min to get my bill to pay.

Very clean rooms, great hospitality, plenty of amenities. I stayed as part of a work function and we utilized their meeting spaces. Again, hospitality was very good with food and drinks provided.

Nearby a shopping mall and restaurants which facilitates moving around.
The cleanliness and the overall decoration is very nice and soothing. The bed is great as well.
The room and bathroom was clean and organized. The amenities were excellent.
The staff is very helpful and their attention to detail is very good. Overall, the personal is well trained and dedicated to facilitating the process of staying on this hotel.
Nothing worth mentioning.

Very bad experience, a reservation was made two days ago for a big table and to celebrate there on May 10th and when we arrived we got the big surprise that they did not respect it, did not register it, they called the captain and very bad attention, she wanted to give us a small table. We had to choose to look for another place, because of the bad service and attention.

Not sure what has happened at this hotel; quality of service has declined severely. I visit family in Aguascalientes 2-3 times a year — I have always stayed here. This time I noticed the service was no longer the same. Cleanliness was fine. Friendliness at check-in was horrible. Valet service horrible (Long wait time). Restaurant wasn’t the same either, long wait time and bad service.
Change of management? Or what has happened here? This hotel is known to be the best in town, but the service is no longer the best. Guest’s pay top dollar to be able to receive top notch service and nothing less.
