Super terrible food service. Before order, the front desk will tell you have to wait at least 3 hours. The food is included in the package, where mean we have no choice but to wait. If you couldn’t afford to take that number pax of guest, please don offer then. Where customers all queue up to wait for the food to be serve.

Had a lot of fun, love snorkelling. The corals and fish were beautiful. Clean beach. Enjoyed the kayakking and jungle trekking. Food was delicious. The friendly environment and the beautiful sceneries captivated us. Best part we felt safe there.

First time come to Island for us. When we check in reception properly explain to us and give to room is so nicely and comfortable room. We stay 2 days in here very happy. Recommend for food for Barat Nasi Lama. Special sellouts food. Fresh juice all are good taste.

My husband and I accomodate in your place at Perhentian Island for 4D3N. It was a terrible experience for us. When we arrived at the chalet, we realize only 2 bottles of 500ml mineral water is not enough for us for whole day long, and we requested for more water, then we have been told that extra mineral water is not complimentary and we need to PAY FOR MINERAL WATER TO OUR OWN STAY. fine. We then book for 2pm snorkeling trip, end up waited for 1 hour and when I go and ask the staff, they only tell us that the boat is jot coming due to the engine problem.
Wasted our first half day time of waiting and doinv nothing! The electrical shortage happens 9 times a night. We need to wake up and turn on the air conditioner again and again, how do you expect us to sleep well? Package stated meals are included but we only get to know that we are provided meals voucher to claim only set meal, and we are requested to pay extra tax for ala carte food options. Water supply in our chelet is worse too. The water power is too small it was like dripping out water droplets only. Same while, the toilet was leaking, is this a proper staycation for us? One last thing is the water boiler is not cleaned. It contains water inside since our first day check in, even after room service, it is still there. Imagine your room service staff's works. It was a truly bad experience for us staying at your place.

Relaxing place and the food was excellent! Staff quite friendly & helpful. The room was little small and the water pressure was low.

Good place for family to stay. But no jetty at this time. No coffee n tea facilities in the room.

The Barat was a great stay. Room was comfortable with a/c. Staff were helpful. Just that the BBQ dinner was so so only. Hope they can improvise on the BBQ dinner choice. Otherwise it was a pleasant and nice stay. Thanks The Barat!

We have booked a 'superior chalet', spacious and clean room with sea view. Friendly staff at the reception and super great restaurant staff.
3 minutes ‍♀️ walk from the PIR beach. Very good food, all the guests of the other resort always came to eat at The Barat. The taxi boat boys are very cordial.

Room quite OK only but the snorkeling staff no good. Even make an appointment and finally asking to change time, bad mode. Last advice need bring money along everything needed to pay even plain water.

Stayed here last week. The rate is affordable even for same day booking. The place serves delicious foods and drinks. There is Wi-Fi but only accessible near the reception. The room was really nice. They have a hairdryer and a fridge in the room. Even there is also a TV in there, there are no channels to watch unless if you bring your device to connect to the TV. They also provides two towels for you to use but no tooth brush so bring your own toothbrush. I believed there is a bat breeding spot nearby so it can be very noisy at night. During my one night stay, we experience 2 blackouts.

Nice location, near a very good beach, but the beach in front is not very good. Nice atmosphere. The bungalow we stayed is a bit too small. But there are bigger and more comfy ones for a higher price.

The stay there is not bad, food selections is good, pricing wise… quite reasonable to me and the staff there is very polite. The beaches is astonishingly beautiful! The water is crystal clear and great for snorkeling or diving. Really hoped to visit again very soon!

Staying at standard double bed room. Complete amenities, Comfortable bed, clean shower room. Location: not so good if you are expecting to swim in front of the hotel. Need to walk to another beach or take boat taxi. Food: reasonable price for island. Taste & portion: good.

Great place to stay if you are on a budget, considering clean rooms, good ac, clean washrooms. The food is great! The staff are very friendly and helpful. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings though. My suggestion would be to renovate the rooms, as most electronic gadgets weren’t properly working, including the Wi-Fi.

All the food are delicious! A nice experience! Room is clean and nice. We stay in the superior room for 4 person. The staffs are really nice and friendly.

Great place. Fronting beautiful beach, crystal clear water. Great food at the resort restaurant and we had other choices of restaurants nearby. Only a short 10 minutes walk to the beautiful beach of Perhentian Resort, which had fine, white sand and crystal clear water, and Turtle Point. Would I choose Barat again for my next visit? Definitely yes! But I would book via their website which had fantastic deals which are not offered by other hotel booking sites, at least not to my knowledge.

Very clean and well staffed resort. The restaurant serves both Asian and Western cuisine. The food is up the standard and very fresh. There are four snorkeling and two fishing tours offered by the hotel which are all reasonably priced. A water taxi service is also provided through the hotel. The beach pictured below is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and it is never overcrowded.

Truly beautiful place could have stayed longer but other places to see had room on beach overlooking the sea so relaxing staff were very attentive and friendly food was fab snorkelling was great not everyday you get chance to swim with the fishes and a black tailed reef shark would definitely stay again.

Great place to spend time with the family. Experience is unforgettable, even my wife and kids loved this place! Awesome to swim with sharks, giant sea turtles and feed the fishes. Thank you for the memorable experience.

Loved the place! Good clean rooms. Love the overall relaxing atmosphere, the food is excellent and with many choices, awesome bbq with fresh seafood. Even love the music they play, a great place to chillax. The staff are friendly and helpful, special mention goes to Marina, the perfect host! My fav were the hammocks tied to coconut trees, just the place to read a book and relax in between swimming and snorkelling. Highly recommended and will definitely go back again.

Great place to visit cosy, relax but lack choice of activities except snookerling and diving. It would be great if you could have a live band or any show performance on selected days a week as surprise.

Great beach, helpful staff and very friendly, spacious and comfortable rooms. Food could improve but in the area is the usual. Services of kayak, diving and snorkling in situ. The scenery the best. The Paradise.

The experience was excellent. The place is neat and clean. The rooms are really good. And the food there is just awesome. Lot of variety and choices and the quality and is excellent. A special mention to all the staff who are very friendly and down to earth. Thank you all for the wonderful stay :)

I. R bay for swimming the island is beautiful there was squirrels, bats, also while walking on shore you may see monkeys.

Bar, restaurant affordable at the price level for the island and that takes the CB without supplement.

The hotel itself is simple, even very. For people who love comfort and coziness, probably this is not the place, but for those who are going all day somewhere to hang out, dive or walk around the island jungle, and looking for a place where you can spend the night and do not overpay, this is what you need. A separate "+" restaurant, loved the Thai soup and Barat burger (wife generally considers it the best burger in the world). The staff is very helpful and friendly, there were no problems during the stay. Near the hotel there is an inexpensive laundry, which can also be attributed to the pluses.

Loved everything about the resort. Warm ambience, pretty surroundings. The restaurant has really delicious food although it’s quite pricey. I say give it a shot! Our room was nice but the bed was abit sandy. Staffs were amazing and helpful.

Third time staying at this place, we love it. Rooms are very very basic but clean and comfortable with air con, fan and fridge. Staff are wonderful. Very chilled. This is pulau bro!

We had our first time visit to Perhentian Island on Oct 1st till 4th, 2017. The staff in this resort were so welcoming and polite. The reception counter staff had help us to upgrade our room with minimum charges and the Manager herself had escorted and carried my luggage to our chalet room. The Superior room provided to us were simple, clean and stylish. It worth for the money and we don't mind paying little up extra for the awesome food. The snorkeling trip and boat transfers to watch the sunset and Long Beach trip with the boat operator named Fitri was fantastic. This is such a memorable trip we had and even on the day we checked out, the owner of the resort himself had offered to carry my daughter's luggage to the jetty nearby and put it on the boat. It was an amazing hospitality provided to us and had made our stay very special by looking after of me and my daughter so well. Will be visiting again to this wonderful resort and fully recommended to all.

It's worth the experience! You have more than enough to eat if you take the package from the hotel. Relaxing place. If you're lucky you might see the milky way galaxy at night! And lots of stars.

Very small room and very touristy atmosphere. To avoid if you look for calm and a typical place to rub shoulders with the Malays.
But the staff is nice.

Overall a good stay and won't mind visiting again. Grilled seafood at the resort's restaurant is good. The chalet is small BUT cozy. The staff were approachable and accommodating. However, the rooms could use a deep cleaning. Otherwise the chalet was adaptable.

Satisfaction is a matter of fits the expectation. So its an island of beautiful nature. Not a resort island. It is simple. Rooths. Has what you need to rest and enjoy life and nature outside.

Barat offers pretty practical cottages. I loved staying there but do not expect anything lavish. About ordinary interfacing skills of the staffs​ may not be the best thing but then all it matters is your stay. The beach right in front of the resort is not great for swimming, in fact you won't find anyone doing so. You may choose to walk up to Perhentian Island Resort for good beach. The food at Barat's restaurant may not delight you but you can always opt to eat at other places in the island.

The best experience from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. The staff were spectacular at making you feel pampered. The location and view of the beach is beautiful. The place has a grand and royal feel to it. I am coming again and again.

Spent 3 nights here; good service and friendly staff. There are different types of rooms, would suggest to get the newer rooms. Booked one of the "older" rooms and we found a rat in our first room ransacking our snacks while we were asleep! Got moved to a different room only upon our request hence the 3 stars. Otherwise, value for money.

Great location. Houses are very neat and clean. Feels new. Restaurant menu is diverse and tasty. Prices are moderate.

Book 2 room for 8 people. Each person 50RM per night, we choose the cheapest price for renting room in here. Good service, food ok but expensive. Clean beach and water. A lot of fish and sea animal.

Booked four bedroom for two nights. Beds are hard, small and old, but with AC. Room is small and toilet/shower isn't very clean. But however only paid 160 ringit (35Euro) per night and we been there only for sleeping, so it's okay! The food you can order is very good, the personal is very friendly and the prices are awsome. So stay at the beach, enjoy the natur and go in your room only at night ;)

The staff is really accommodating and friendly. The facility is good for the typical country standard. Also the food and prices are fine. Unfortunately, the beaches, the sea and also the rest of the islands are totally trashed, which of course does not affect the hotel itself. The reefs are also mostly destroyed, because neither tourists nor the locals take care of it. I would recommend this hotel, however, you can do without a visit to the islands. There are definitely nicer and cheaper alternatives.

A perfect place for those who want a quiet holiday at Perhentian Island. This is located on Perhentian Besar and the food selection here is hands down the best on the island! Tip — Go on weekdays to avoid the crowds.

Newly renovated, very clean and well equipped rooms. Really good service and dive centre as well. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a quiet place to relax.
