The staff were all friendly and helpful. The interior decoration was mesmerising and worth to be featured in social media. The location was a bit far from Ipoh city centre but it wasn't a hassle as there were many restaurants and food outlets near to the hotel. The room was clean and all equipment function well. Highly recommended if you're looking for a boutique hotel but within a low budget. You won't regret staying here.

Every hotel I stay I also will ask for 2extra pillow for comfortable and I always get it because this is the right for guest, this Merton hotel says to me 1extra is charge for rm10 2for rm20, WTH is this? last month I stay in M Boutique ipoh they also supply me 2extra pillow without any fee is FOC! this is last time I stay in Merton hotel! and I will told all my friends and family don't stay in Merton hotel coz the service is so bad! M boutique hotel ipoh is the best!

It is a very nice hotel and comfortable.

Rooms leaking. You will also be showering with dirty aircond water dripping down your back, utterly disgusting. (Video as proof) When brought to attention to the receptionist they merely state that their whole hotel leaks. Expect no sort of general professional service or whatsoever. Beware of Merton the Leaking Lagoon Hotel. Not worth even for first timers.

Budget boutique hotel with nice decorations. Bit further from town but is alright if you are driving.

Really beautiful boutique hotel. Very spacious bathroom. Only 10 min drive to the city.

So good for take a photo. But its very disapointed because the cafe is close. I do not know why. The location is far away from city center. You need lot of money for grab to reach the city center.

— Stained glass shower, Clogged floor trap, Thick dust can be seen on TV, Shower head (Yes dust on it), Artificial Plant, Bedhead and etc.

— Tourist, eating and activity spots most of them located at the north side so quite a distance to drive and time wasted. Quite a big disappointment because I was expecting a decent and clean room. Please fix the loose water tap and service the aircond.

Cozy place with unique design, love it! Only one of the stuff was very rude, I stay for 3 night, 30/3-1/4. The 2nd night I request to refill 2 bottles of mineral water, she asked me” I ASKING YOU? You requested clean up yr room? ”I said no need clean just refill the water, thanks. She repeated the same question 3x “I ASKING YOU? You want to clean up yr room? “ I still said no just refill the mineral water is good enough. But she still repeated “I ASKING YOU? ” End up I said okay up to you, but when at night I back to my room the room not clean and no mineral water!

This is an excellent hotel. It offers all basic needs a traveler wants well — a cozy atmosphere, a nice bed and comforter, and a very practical bathroom. They pay great detail to the quality of the bathroom amenities. I would stay there again, if I ever visit Ipoh City.

New boutique hotel. Love the lobby, room and hipster deco. The room was lovely. Ask for a room with a view.

Nice decoration hotel, friendly staff and comfortable room. Reasonable price with the standard.

Overall interior set up extremely nice. Minimalist to the core. Kudos to the ID designer and lighting expert. We had a great stay in a nice room, value for money.

*cozy (do more marketing to boost the crowd, it's a very nice place to dine-in) To be honest, I really like this hotel. It's so simple, yet so trendy — so much of photos opportunities. My husband and I were in Ipoh, we're getting footages to put them into Promotional videos for Social Media. Very beautiful footages we've got in Merton. We also took some photos, so classic and unique. We didn't have a chance to see other rooms' set-up; I believe that all rooms are unique. You guys are great! We need creative hotels like this ♡♡♡

Room is big, design and decor is excellent and at an affordable price. A really good find. Service was great too! They even provide complimentary welcome drink and complimentary snacks and drinks in the room.

Cozy place with unique design. Friendly staff. The room and toilet were clean, bed was comfortable. Just that not sound proof, can hear people talking from below shops as quite a lot restaurant and food shop at ground floor.

The hotel is really stylish and beautifully designed. The staff was always nice and very helpful, restaurants and stores are just around the corner and the temples south of the city are in walking distance. Only downside: if you arrive at the central bus station Amanjaya it's quite a drive. We took bus line T30a to the town center and then a cab since we couldn't figure out the next bus line to change to. Cab from there is ~25RM to the hotel and about 20RM to the old city center.

Exceeded expectations in all areas. Good staff — Excellent service from one of the staff called Eric. Well explain about Ipoh. Front counter staff even remind us on breakfast closing timing before they close the buffet line. Hotel & room — Clean & worth for money.

Cosy small boutique hotel adjacent to seafood restaurants at Simpang Pulai. Liked the kitschy interior decor and decided to go in and have coffee at their cafe. Superb Americano coffee, freshly roasted and ground just the way we like it. Keep up the good work, Merton.

We arrived at Merton hotel yesterday. The rooms were not so bad. It’s a three person room with an extra bed. With three, you have to make sure everything is equipped with three (Especially towels)! Very unfriendly receptionist. Housekeepers are uneducated. The staff is rude to a fault. The bathroom has a shower, and “wet room” (ie drain in floor. Only there is no slope. So the bathroom ends up the same as the swimming pool! IF you put the hotel towels down to mop it, as this means “extra laundry. ” Best features: Hotel theme & Wi-Fi
Improvement: Water heater & Drain in floor.

Very nice hotel with big room and toilet, clean and friendly staff.

Just like any boutique hotel, this place offers the ambience. It is exactly like what you see in the pictures. However, the service is not up to standard. When I checked in, I was given a room that hasn't been made up. The next day, the staff barged into my room thinking I have checked out. It seemed like there is no update on the room amongst the staff and the management needs to improve. Other than the above, you do get what you paid for.
