Only blot was the coffee served at the pool bar restaurant was not worth the price and undrinkable. We ordered ice latte but the items served was atrocious and the servers need to be retrained.

Not very friendly during COVID. Banned from walking through their car park and now they have blocked our beach walking access. Lived in PENANG for 31years and used this hotel regularly for big business functions and personal pleasure but never never again after this treatment.

Taken last year 2020. A nice place to find solace during pandemic. One of the days we spent at the garden near the beach, rewarded ourselves with foot massages, and listened to the relaxing sound of the waves. I also liked their afternoon tea and predinner canapes-free flow drinks!. The food at the ferringhi bar and grill was great too! Plus the staffs were so nice to give us free dessert♥️

Staff are so attentive, surroundings are beautiful and the sunset is so colourful.

Great hotel. Friendly staff, great ambiance, great facilities. Everything within the hotel is great; the pool is nice, plenty of corners to do something. But once outside, not much can be said. The street outside is kinda dead; shops were either closed or looks like they are struggling to stay open. The beach. Well I would not come here for the beach. There are many other destinations with much much better beaches. Prices for the hotel is on the high side.

There's no one word to this heaven on earth place. Our stay at the executive garden room was so comfortable and 3 nights flew by. Note to self was at least book 4 to 5 nights the next time we go. The buffet breakfast was out of this world. The services of all the staffs were admirable and they made us feel so at ease and taken care of. Chi Spa experience was absolutely delightful. Joey my therapist was lovely and I had an amazing time. Will definitely go back again and again and again.

Amazing! 10 stars out of 5: spacious comfy room, attentive staff and treats all day long. Food was superb and very well priced, no need to go out to dine. Breakfast also very good, plenty of European and Asian options. Stay at Rasa Wing if possible as you will be treated to afternoon tea and pre-dinner canapes every day, which are very good! Very happy!

We were excited to return 24 years after our honeymoon, and this most wonderful of hotels has not disappointed at all. Wonderful grounds, comfortable rooms and great facilities. The upgrade to the Rasa Wing is well worth it for the included extras and the peaceful pool, although be aware it is for 16+ only, so if you have younger kids you would be missing out. The restaurants are pricey as you would expect in a 5 star resort, but there are so many options to eat locally this is not an issue. Pro Tip: there’s a laundry opposite the hotel that will take your clothes for RM5/kg and you can collect the same day. Approx. 20% of the cost of using the in-house laundry service.

Had a wonderful 3 nights stay at the resort. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities and rooms are well-maintained. The beach is not great, they should also refresh the buffet selection from day to day. Still we were not bored. Recommended.

Truly an amazing hotel. The hotel and sorroundings are truly amazing. Staff is extremely friendly. You are close to everything and yet it is peaceful and serene. A great place for everybody from the adults only pool at the Rasa wing to the activity programme for the kids.

The hotel is one of the best we have stayed at. It felt exclusive and the facilities matched this most of the time. The room were the biggest and the best layed out I have ever stayed in and the food/breakfast was great. Everyone in the hotel was also very helpful and always deal with a smile. I would like to thank you all on the behalf of my family for your kindness and generosity.

It has been a while since I last stayed here but it was by far the best hotel I have stayed at on Batu Feringgi Beach. Always nice to be directly on the beach when you are staying in a beach resort. I also remember taking part in a very good hike to the waterfalls from here.

Astonishing greenery with magnificent 200 years old trees, spacious rooms with outdoor baths and serene pool area at the club zone, but the F&B offering lacks flair. Breakfast buffet fruit selection and quality is deplorable, as much as the in room welcome fruit platter. It is time to say no to commercially grown, tastless, imported produce from overseas and embrace the riches of the local markets! Where did the five star hotels get the idea that Green Apples, table grapes (from Australia? ), and totally unripe Rock Melons are emblematic to tropical bounty of Asia?! Even the F&B manager admitted that none of the fruit are local… How about giving your Guests a chance to discover something new, something with a sense of place dear Shangri La? How about replacing an apple that has been sitting in a chiller for at least a month with a cacao pod on the coffee table? Little to eat but at least exciting to look at when entering the room and something your Guests would lovingly steal as a memorable token of their stay! Not to mention that none of the outlets serves fresh young coconuts, as perfect hydration, that actually grows on the beach and most likely ends up in the bin as garden waste. Newly repainted (? ) balcony balustrade smells terribly in the heat of the midday sun making it impossible to enjoy the outdoor seating.

Inconsistent set up of rooms. Our rooms were not up to our expectations. Balcony full of bird droppings. Reception/Restaurant/coffee house staffs not friendly and helpful.

Fantastic resort with lovely restaurants, beautiful rooms, and most services you could ever consider. Very professional staff. Price seems high but completely worth it — would defintely come back.

Nice hotel with an unpaired service… enjoy a relaxing time on the beach and not far from Penang… I suggest you test the SPA and massages…

Nice place. We were in the "Rasa wing". Quiet and well appointed. Pool is nice. Staff is helpful and friendly. Great place for a romantic few days.

Stayed for 5 nights in a Rasa wing room. Beautiful grounds with a nice beach by Penang standards. Excellent main pool for kids and breakfast buffet had an excellent range. Rasa wing free canapés and drinks in the evening after an afternoon swim was very luxurious. Plenty of food options down the road.

The hotel is beautiful, the overall service is very good — it's all let down by it's kitchen. The food is basic and has little taste, even breakfast is well below par. The setting by the beach is wonderful but dont turn around. There is a handful of old stores selling foot rubs and well not a lot else. There is of course a mosque calling its followers to pray on a regular basis which if that's your faith great but if it's not… I guess given the cost of the resort you could stay in the grounds but then you have to put up with food.

Beautiful hotel! Definately 5 star! Just not much to do being a young couple. But definately would recommend. The staff are very outgoing and good to have a laugh with. Love the bartenders very professional and proper. Thank you for a nice relaxing stay.

One of the best hotels I have ever visited and stay. Everything is impeccable: service, hygiene, cleanliness, food, entertainment.
You can stay for days without leaving the hotel so everything is there and you absolutely do not need to go out except for personal business. He deserves seven stars. I'm probably going to go back.

One of the best resorts we stayed in, the nature there is absolutely great. Staff are friendly and smiling all the time. The resorts facilities and activities are variable and comprehensive (water sports, SPA, restaurants, lounge, garden, public swimming pool, Saloon ext. ). Fast checkin\out. We had our break fast in spice market cafe which was good (indoor and outdoor tables are available). Our stay was in rasa wing room with private pool, it was great. Highly recommended for honeymoon.

Nice resort, but we had some small customer service issues during our stay (hence only four stars). The facilities are top notch and what you'd expect, with a fabulous pool and convenient beach access. Breakfast was the only meal we had at the resort and it was very well curated, with options for all appetites. Beds were comfortable and the room itself was larger than we expected.

A beautiful, lush and green resort. Our garden wing room was spacious, clean, well-stocked and had a great view of the main pool and the beach. This is as would be expected from a five star resort, but what stood out for me was the buffet at Spice Market. The variety was amazing and even though I had only managed to eat my way through about 20% of it I have no doubt that the other 80% are just as delicious.

The property was great. It's a good place to get away from the hustle of Georgetown. A place to relax. We got a massage package that included a scrub, wrap, bath and full body massage. It was quite possibly the best spa experience we've had.

Hotel is a little dated but not really a big deal, rooms are modernized and clean and staff are very very nice. What I loved is that even at 95 Percent full rate (what they claimed) you didn't feel that the hotel was crowded like in Cancun. Little or no lines, always available chairs at the beach and a cool bar. So why 3 stars? It's over priced for that area, $20 double shot wiskey drinks, $4 cokes that cost $. 5 at a nice restaurant nearby, $55 seafood buffet that was okay. I just think you should price things based on the country that you are in, not based on what you clients can afford. Probably will try to stay away from shingri la hotels in the future.

So far our stay has been perfect. The hotel and it's grounds are beautiful and the people are very welcoming. This is a great place for the family (Garden Wing).

This is a five star hotel by the side of golden sand. Both hotel belongs to one area. Sugar boss of malaysia. Beautiful coconut trees around the hotel. Share the same beach as Golden Sand.

Location was good, nice sea view, rooms were clean and quite comfortable. However, the pool was quite big but not that visually striking, just a big blue tub in my opinion. Service was good with the staff being very polite.

This is a beautiful environment, very relax of the holiday sprinkler shop. Can borrow a little shortcoming is, I was in the early November to Penang, when I saw this private beach is very beautiful, just want to play in the water, then see a foreign tourist, in 15 feet away from the beach yelling, and quickly swim back, originally he was bitten by jellyfish, the most afraid is the whole process, hotel beach staff did not step out of their small pavilion Only in the face to see, waiting for the injured man a lame limp to walk into the pavilion, this is my real-time cold in the water of the heart.

Fantastic resort! Staff are nice, friendly and very accommodating. Chi Spa was very relaxing and worth visiting. Had a great time by the pool just relaxing with a drink. Quiet and relaxing place. Check out the Rasa wing rooms are bigger and comes with a lot of perks. Separate dinning facilities and access to the Horizon Club with afternoon tea.

What a beautiful hotel wonderful location to unwind from work The staff from the ground's men to manager terrific couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible, It felt like one big family, Food out standing and excellent value for money, We have been there twice now and will definitely go again. Highly recommended.

Four out of five stars … but from overall service and property they deserve five stars. We stayed 7 nights at the Rasa Wing with our 2, 5 year old boy. A fantastic family holiday and we can just recommend this Resort as family Resort. Thumbs up.
So why only four stars?
The Health club, hair and nail studio stoped developing right after opening 1973. We used the Sauna and the Nail studio and were really disappointed by the facility's. For absolute five star this area on level 2 must get an upgrade. Sauna in 2017 must be more than just a dark cold room in a basement feeling. Otherwise do not provide Sauna in tropical areas.

This is a great place for a family getaway vacation trip, especially for those with kids. The overall environment here is very relaxing and filled with a lot of activities to cater for a fun and enjoyable experience. We have been coming back to this paradise for quite a number of times and we are still looking forward to our next stay here. Our daughter just simply love spending time in the resort mostly playing by the pool area or just hang out by the mesmerizing beach. The Kids Club activities by the resort is also another attraction that keep us coming back as our daughter seems to be having fun when joining the activities. The people here are quite friendly and tends to be very helpful. There is also a range of nice food to choose from the restaurants in the resort. All in all, this is definitely one of the top family vacation spot along the Batu Ferringhi stretch in Penang.

Beautiful room and pool. Very chill bar area with shisha and also relatively cheap compared to food at other 5 star hotel.

This is my fifth visit to this marvelous place. I am gonna come back again and again. They never let me down.

Nice, clean rooms. The food and atmosphere at the Feringhi Grill & Bar was great. The happy hour options were underwhelming though, and would've liked to see better quality house pours. Breakfast service is in the same restaurant for the Rasa Wing guests, however didn't achieve the same level of service and quality. Was still very good, however was not as "well oiled" as the dinner service (e. G. Staff didn't seem to be allocated to specific tables and didn't communicate so inconsistent attention and on several occasions got asked for our order multiple times). Rasa private adult-only pool is nice and much more quiet and calm. Although here while the hotel is at full capacity, we didn't encounter any issues getting seated or feel overcrowded at any point in our stay.

Haviing a buffet and food finished 45 minutes left for the buffet to finish my common sense says all should be available till the last minute of of the buffet

The most beautiful resort in Malaysia. The staff were lovely and welcoming. A special thanks to chef Lim Soon Leong for his amazing chili lobster which he prepared on request. Until we meet again I will have the very best memories of Shangri La Rasa Sayang.

Clean and tidy, a comfort bed, nice swimming pool and beach front view. Enjoyed beautiful birds' singing with huge amazing rain trees. Only one old female staff in breakfast buffet who works in a fruit juice corner frustrated me with her angry face when I tried to have a cup of juice at close to the end of the buffet time at 10:50 (buffet closes at 11:00)

Nice resort and grounds. You are also able to use the facilities of Shangri-La Golden Sands next door. Golden Sands has a good children facility. You can get a golf cart ride between the two resorts if you're lazy to walk.

Hospitable staff. Great food. Cool ambiance. A perfect place to get relaxed. I will definitely go back!

Cozy and quaint. The service is good and attentive. Restaurants offer good food and drinks. The room amenities are quite basic, especially compare to the room prices but you'll probably be spending most of your times outdoors anyway.
