Beautiful and quiet place. Friendly staffs whom were very passionate about being part of the team.

Once u are inside the Village House, u thought u have been to Bali… very peaceful and calm surroundings with wooden house architecture and almost can hear the water flowing sound all the times from the elevated pool in the middle… a lot of wood carvings and art display for photograph taking.

Very authentic, very rare and hidden. Suddenly you're at somewhere else like Thailand but it's not. Too beautiful to describe.

Quiet place to relax and get away from the Hussle and bussel of city Life. Great service.

This is a hidden gem. The absence of the signboard was a unique touch. The seclusion was what my family and I was looking for; we wanted to get out of the city and lodge around lush greenery and the sound of waves at the nearby beach. With only a total of 12-13 rooms and a staff size of 13, you are surely interacting with nature more than with humans. Every staff here deserves the employee of the month award, and the food menu from their kitchen comes with their own unique twist. Try the Ikan Bakar, wrapped in Banana leaf served with Kailan in Marmite sauce. Truly a 4-5 star village lodge with a definite 5 star staff & crew. Money will spent.

Nice n cozy but in any advertisement for this place they should mentioned clearly their restaurant meals are non halal.

Beautifully private villas for rent. Lush swimming pool and greens. Just minutes away from the beach though you may not be able to swim in the sea. Perfect for getaway.

This is one of them Best place for you to cool down and Relax in Kuching. You can experience the village life here and have a peaceful mind throughout your stay. Non guests are disallow to enter the compound and privacy is always there. Room is very small. No television/makeup table. There's a small swimming pool. However the bar is nice. The workers very friendly. No outside drinks/food are allowed.

A five star place to chill with six star staff. I stayed in Kuching recently for work and tagged on a weekend in The Village House. It's a wonderful place, nestled away from everything under the imposing mountain in Santubong National Park. We booked one of the larger bedrooms which was truly beautiful, with four post bed and draped with a fly net, which was not necessary, but looked great. All the rooms in the hotel are on stilts leaving space underneath for a selection of seating, sun loungers and hammocks which fringe a beautiful pool. There is a lovely poolside bar, games and tentertainment rooms too. The food is simple and tasty, we tried a number of local delicacies. I also managed to get my rental 4x4 buried in the sand on the nearby beach, and was helped out bay a large group of local kids who gave up hours of their time to help dig out my vehicle. Unfortunately by the time I got back to the hotel, I had missed my pre-booked seven course sampler meal. But the staff had wrapped it all up and left it in the fridge in my room, so I was still able to have it, after my many hours of night digging to retrieve my 4x4 from the beach. Also the manager of the hotel and the staff came out help the progress of the large local contingent who came out for the "rescue" mission, which ultimately turned into a street party outside the hotel as everybody sat around talking and telling stories.

A perfect place to relax and explore Sarawak. Very friendly staff, beautiful food and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. I would highly recommend you stay at The Village House. Deirdre & Jim.

1) U have unfriendly Staff that like to get angry with people for nothing.
2) children below 12yrs old are not allowed to enter.
3) pool is dirty hardly can see the bottom.
4) just like staying in a army hostel with curfew (must be back to hostel before 10pm).
5) dinner is delicious, english breakfast is just another normal stuff nothing special and can't consider delicious.
6) room is clean n comfortable.

The staff that welcomed us was very rude and unprofessional. (Commanding us to sit down and couldn't bother to use "please". ) The house itself doesn't have much to do except swimming. Outdated movies are provided in the lounge upstairs. No TV or kettle in the room. If you are looking for a place to not disturbed by others, this will be a good place to go. Or else, you might as well choose a different place with a cheaper price. This place is totally overpriced. Additionally, it's not easy to find as the house has no signs. No beaches nearby. In order to get to this place you need a car.

Great way to escape the city… one of kuching secrets… great staff good prices compared to other places I've stayed… great good and there is a pool :)

This place is great! Lovely rooms, great food. Note the beach is not very nice but a way better alternative to staying in Kuching.

It is very nice place in Borneo.

An oasis of tranquility in fantastic surroundings. Only setback is the mandatory "wakeup call" from the neighbouring mosque. Food is awesome and the staff goes out of their way to be of assistance. They arranged airport pick-up, transport to the nearby orang-utan sanctuary, and the on to The Village House. They also arranged for the next day trip to the Natural Park, guide boat trip and transport back to the airport… Couldn't have been better…

Lovely get away outside of Kuching.

Staff are friendly and the place is very clean. Perfect place to getaway for your loved ones! Do need to fix that Internet in the room. Beach is a min walk away.

Perfect place for my short holidays with my lovely family. Thumbs up and lovely place. Just one downside which could be good side too, :) Wi-Fi internet connection are not that good.

A lovely, quiet, relaxing location. Perfect if you just want to laze around the pool, or chill out on their incredibly comfy four-poster beds. The only downside being that you are about 50 minutes out of Kuching town, and going almost anywhere from The Village House involves either a Shuttle Bus or Taxi. If you want somewhere to just relax, The Village House is perfect. If you want to take day trips and tours, they can book everything for you through The Borneo Experience including shuttle bus transfers. But if you are more into independent travel and tours, you may want to stay somewhere more central.
