Faloe Hostel Hostel

Faloe hostel is probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in in Asia. It feels like home!
The employees and the owners are amazing and they want you to have the best time in Borneo. They're very helpful for everything. They helped me plan my whole trip in Sabah.
Also, everything in the hostel is very clean: the kitchen, living room, dorms and bathrooms and the place is also very safe. They also let you do your laudry for free. Breakfast is also free and really good!
Ivy and the owners are ADORABLE! They made me want to come back so much! If you ever go to Kota Kinabalu, you absolutely have to stay at Faloe!

This hostel is not just a hostel but more like a home far away. In my short stay Ivy from the hostel helped me to find places to go after Kota Kinabalu. It's a clean hostel, the breakfast is good, airco, I've slept well, if you want to you could use the pc or just relax on the couch.

Best hostel in Malaysia so far!

Super place with super person. Definately the best choice for any backpackers who love the feeling being home. This is a "Home" for you to stay.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Very clean, new, and modern. Well cared for space. Little touches that make a big difference (free laundry, mac computer for use, free printing, toast/jam/PB/nutella/coffee/tea available 24/7). Above all else though, the staff are absolutely wonderful. Sarah and Ryan and the rest of their team go above and beyond for their guests. They helped us organize tours (calling local tour companies for us and making arrangements, answering our questions, and all very promptly and before we even arrived at their hostel! ). They are super knowledgeable about Borneo in general — they even helped us plan our travel and book tours in the next city we were headed to. Everything they recommended was top notch. They are also exceptionally kind. One of us became very sick (food poisoning) and they were very accommodating, tending to her as needed, blocking a hostel bed for her just in case she wasn't well enough to travel on, etc. They just go above and beyond for everything and really make you feel at home. I've stayed at 50+ hostels, and this one comes out on top. Can't speak highly enough of them.

The most amazing hospitality ever, I ended up coming back to Faloe 3 times as I was travelling around KK and the guys even let me keep my luggage there as I headed of to Kudat. Only place to also give peanut butter for breakfast, I'd recommend Faloe Hostel to everyone.

The reviews are correct. By far the best hostel ever. Free 24h breakfast with fruits, clean sheets everyday and washing machine plus dryer. Also a small TV corner with Netflix. Top class.

In my 8 months travelling around Asia this was probably the nicest hostel I stayed at (there’s still another week for it to be beaten, but unlikely)! Don’t be put off by the slightly higher price; when you consider the all day breakfast, laundry, cleanliness and presentation of the place, then it’s a bargain. It feels like you’re in a very nicely put together home. The couple who run the hostel also go out of their way to help you with anything. They helped us plan the rest of our time in Sabah, transport, etc. Highly recommended!

Cozy and clean hostel. Not so much people. The neighborhood are really convinent, just few minutes walk to imago mall. Staffs are super friendly, nice and helpful.

A warm welcome from Sarah and her staff. Felt like home. The free laundry, breakfast, fruit, all at a perfect touch. A million thanks to Sarah for all she did to make our KK stay feel good.

I absolutely loved my stay here. Ivy, Sarah and Ryan are absolutely the best! Thanks guys for making me feel at home! The hostel itself has great facilities, clean, cosy atmosphere, great kitchen with all day long free breakfast, laundry, netflix and the best Wi-Fi in whole Sabah! Keep up the good work!

Super inspired by how Faloe came to be and we really admire how both of you build such a fantastic and homely place for travellers like us. Rooms are well equipped and Faloe comes with complete facilities to make everything super convenient. We love the little touches and thought put into everything — right down to the fully stock fruit basket every morning!
Thank you Sarah and Ryan for going above and beyond! Needless to say, you guys are terrific hosts! We can really see the great effort put in; and this is by far the best hostel experience to date! Well done, guys, and we wish you all the best! We'll be back.

A great BIG thank you to Sarah and Ryan. Such a lovely couple with a fantastic new hostel that is located centrally in the city and only about 20 minutes from the airport. It's super clean with comfortable beds and a fantastic social area. Everywhere has a/c which is a welcome break from the heat. Also a great breakfast with free water and access to a cooker to make simple meals which is great if you are on a tight budget, all at a very reasonable price. Sarah and/or Ryan are at the hostel from dawn til dusk and can't do enough to help — from sourcing/organising tours to helping out (when I was unwell). Nothing is to much trouble. There are two computers at the hostel so great for searching onwards flights etc. It really did feel like home away from home after 6 months of travelling. Wishing them all the luck in the world with their new venture.
