Manyatta Backpackers Hotel

Good breakfast. Minimal locker space. Not bad for a Kenyan hostel. A good place to meet travellers.

Best place for backpackers! Very friendly employees, super safe area, not far from town!

Cool place … food service could be better … but what a Great fire the idiot chops down trees just to keep us warm! Idiot.

Overpriced because a bit old and rusty. But this is Nairobi. Nice place to meet other volonteers or travellers passing by.

Reasonably priced accommodation in the heart of Nairobi. Secure and safe. 15 minutes walk from city centre.

Tucked away affordable spot with free breakfast, 30 minutes from the city center.

Good location close to Uhuru Park, and Posta House. Very ambles cooks.

Very friendly staff, excellent shower. Rooms and facilities are clean. Wi-Fi is good. Don't think I could have gotten better accomodation in town for this price.

Nice place for the price. Basic in every sense but if that's what you're looking for this is the right place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast is just French toast, a banana and coffee, but there are lots of restaurants in the city. Manyatta is about 10 minutes walk from the city centre and its pretty easy to get information about places to visit from the receptionist or the other staff.

Its an ok hanging out place.

Basic, food menu is quite small but all freshly cooked. Was rather quite when I was there. Place could do with a refresh as lights in some rooms rather dim, mains sockets not in a good state etc.

This hostel is absolutely amazing! The staff were very helpful and kind, I was dying from a bad hangover but they let me sleep in until much past check out time (my flight is at 6pm). The food is great, the beer cheap, and It's at a nice location close to the city center. I will spend the night here again when I return to Nairobi at the end of the month! For under $20 I don't think you can do better! ⚠️ no mosquito nets. (Although I didn't get bit once)

Decent hostel for staying one or two nights. The food is cheap and the Wi-Fi is good.

Poor service and poor security in the rooms… I had a horrible night.

Dirty rooms, no mosquito nets, word out don't go to this place! I was supposed to get an airport pick-up which was confirmed but nobody showed. Reaction from de ladies of the hostel " oh, they might have forgotten you" (and I was carrying a couple of thousand US dollars with me because I was starting an overland tour. Believe me, you don't want to take a random taxi in Nairobery which I had to do). Those same ladies were telling me it was too dangerous to walk on the street, even during daytime. "Luckily" there was always a taxi driver around who could bring me around for overpriced rates (they probably get commission) I'm a hardcore traveler and this was 1 of the worst places I've stayed in my whole life.

Miss Cathy is absolutely incredible! She went above and beyond to assist us with booking our bus and hostel in Arusha, we didn't have to lift a finger. She made us feel right at home. Breakfast was good and catered to us and our early departure, which was hugely appreciated. The hostel was clean and the shower in the ladies form had hot water — yay! There was a good group of backpackers here — it is definitely THE place to stay in Nairobi! Enjoy your stay!

Great place to aclimatize in central Nairobi before going on safari or camping. Check out Grower Cafe at Hazina Towers (University Way) for equally authentic Kenya snacks & meals.

Great location, basic facilities. Informative staff.

The hostel has a living room with sofas and tv, spacious and comfortable. Wifi included, within walking distance of the centre, recommended.

Pretty basic backpackers, but really nice staff. Cheap food and you can cook in there kitchen. Breakfast included in price 1400ksh for dorm 700 for tent. Good Wi-Fi.

It is so amazing here. Everything ist going to be perfekt. I have booked a Safari Trip with them and I have to say it was the best time of my life in the Masai Mara.

Basic but good service and cheap meals and tours.

Uncle Tom establishment with racist management and staff. Whites preferred, blacks not welcome. If you're African, management will deny you a room and if you do get a room you will be treated with cold, hostility by staff. On the other hand, they trip all over themselves to please and serve white customers.

Really bad accommondation.
Unfriendly stuff and dirty rooms.
The stuff is not able to say general things like " hello".
I would never recommend this accommondation!
For the price you really get a better accommondation in Nairobi.

I give my warmest recommendations for this place. The staff is friendly. Its CHEAP! And the guests that come to thi place are nice. The Annette, one of the supervisors, came to get os in Navasha one of the last days to ensure everything was right before a trip to hell's gate. She even came with us on the trip! Such a great day. We ended up buying fish from local fishermen and Annette prepared a luxurious meal for us the day after from it. I will come back soon! Jonas.

Born a year ago but overtaking others in service delivery, keep on with the goodwork!

Manyatta Backpackers went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. They serviced my family and I with transportation and comfortable affordable rooms for our safari to Masai Mara! They meet all your needs. There were no hick ups we got to sit back and enjoy the trip. They played the middle man to what can make a trip stressful and let you enjoy your time. We are excited to go back to Kenya and use the many other services they cater. Good, affordable and honest service is hard to come by but we found it with Manyatta Backpackers! We truly want to say thank you for servicing a truly unforgettable trip :) ) )

Great service provided by Manyatta! We traveled family of 6 from USA and was greeted by owner at airport — we secured furnished apartment, safari trip, and beach all organized by this company! Our holiday ran smoothly!
