Aykun Terenkur Hotel AYKUN Capsule Hotel

Me and my wife have food poisoning ever since we came here. Part of the breakfast is just next to the windows under the sun. Maybe other foods were bad too. Before coming here, we never had any issues.

There was construction inside the hotel. I couldn't sleep. The rooms are extremely small compared to other hotels with same value. I booked 4 nights. Checked out after the first night and asked for 3 nights refund. They only returned the amount for 2 nights. Terrible experience to be honest. I rented a hotel appartment instead and I couldn't be any happier.

Very nice hotel. The rooms were comfortable. Some have a view of the mountains. The staff were super polite and attentive. The hotel itself has plenty of character, an interesting design. The food in the restaurant was good. Most, (all? ), of the reception staff speak English.
The review below with the photo of the small room, I don't know. I stayed in 3 rooms, because I made 3 separate bookings. I didn't see anything like that.

I spent several wonderful days at the Aykun Hotel in Almaty and want to share my impressions.
First of all, the service here is top notch. All the staff are incredibly polite, patient, calm and helpful. We try to resolve every request as quickly and comfortably as possible for the guest. You really feel welcome here.
I was lucky enough to stay at Aykun just in time for Nauryz and it was a very special experience! The hotel prepared traditional breakfasts, they told me everything in detail, showed me and presented national dishes — it was very sincere and pleasant.
The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and I especially liked the bed linen — soft, fresh, very comfortable. In March, I slept with the window open, and it was simply magical: you wake up to the singing of birds — a real rest for the soul.
There is a kettle and tea in the room, which was especially important for me — I love drinking hot tea at this time of year. A small thing, but a very nice detail.
Of the minuses: the rooms are very compact. If you're traveling as a couple, it can be a bit cramped — you literally can't turn around. But for one person it is an ideal option.
Overall this is a great hotel with amazing service. Despite the small size of the rooms, the comfort, caring staff and atmosphere make this a wonderful place to relax. I really enjoyed it and would love to come back here again!

Convenient location. Spacious, convenient for living. The other guests are almost invisible and inaudible. The entrance doors are open 24 hours a day, so you can also admire the city views at night. It is very convenient that separate rooms are accessible only with your card, which will be issued at the reception. The toilet rooms are separate for women and men. The floors are warm, the renovation is fresh). The guys at the reception are very nice, they will help you with everything. In my opinion it's a great place. I will recommend this place)
The only caveat is that if you have asthma or allergies, please note that there is no ventilation in the rooms. It was very hot for me to sleep, although I myself am a freezing person. Someone sleeps with the doors open. I'm only removing a star for the ventilation in the room, otherwise everything was great.

Comfortable and clean! But the rooms where sooo warm and there is no aircon or window.

Good location, kind people but the rooms are very bad. Can’t even call them rooms; feels more like a closet. They’re not like the photos at all. This is a capsule hostel. The rooms are so tiny that your body heat gets trapped in there and heats up the room into a hot, sweaty, soggy mess. There is no airconditioning at all in the rooms. You have to keep the door open to let the slightest breeze of fresh air in. If sleeping in a coffin at 27°C, bathing in your own sweat and waking up 5 times during the night is totally your thing, this is your place. But don’t expect a “hotel” like you’re used to.

Excellent hotel, everything is new, single room is small but very cozy with a view of the mountains. Amazing breakfast, helpful staff.
There is no bar, I didn’t really want to go somewhere in the evening, but the hotel doesn’t have a bar.

It was a quiet and clean hotel. There was just one thing I didnt like it. The entrance to the hotel's parking area was blocked by a barrier, but there was no security. In order for a car to enter, you must honk the horn or walk up to the lobby and ask them to remove the barrier.

Overall ok for the money.
Very small bathroom, literally impossible to turn around. The audibility in the rooms is like in new buildings, when you knock on the next room, it always seems like they are breaking into your door. Breakfast is nothing (three tomatoes, scrambled eggs, pancakes). When checking out, they asked me to wait until they accepted my number: a taxi was already waiting for me, and the girl at the reception still couldn’t let me go — they spent a long time looking for someone who could go and look at my number.

The location is great. Nearby is the Kok Tobe cable car. The staff is friendly. There is free charging for an electric car.
In the room I would add hooks for bathrobes in the bathroom, dim lighting. Water dripped from the ceiling, the elevator did not work 5 days out of 7

The only thing I liked was the reception staff. Responsive, hospitable.
This is definitely not 4*. Maximum 3, but even that is questionable. The room was a junior suite. Apart from the fact that it was big, nothing else said anything about this category. Everything is very poor. The package is generally very strange. For the 4 people this room is offered for, there is 1 chair at the desk. It's impossible to drink tea. There is no socket near the table. There is not a single hook in the toilet and nowhere to put the toiletries. Cleaning also does not correspond to the category of the room. Breakfast may not be very sparse, but everything is cold. In general, I definitely do not recommend it. There are better deals for this money.

In general, I liked everything, the room has everything you need: hairdryer, iron, safe, refrigerator. Change of towels and linen every 3 days. Breakfast is no frills, but quite passable. The location is very convenient, 2 minutes walk from the walking trail along the river. Near the shopping center.

Delicious breakfasts, a variety of dishes for every taste. Be sure to have porridge, egg dishes, fermented milk products, baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, salad and hot dishes, which have never been repeated in a week.
Near Terrenkur there is a walking path in the forest along the river with playgrounds and sports grounds, toilets, and cafes.
