Nagasaki Hotels near Sofukuji Temple

We stayed at H2 in Nagasaki for 4 nights in December 2025 in a Smart Double Room. The room was knowingly small as we only booked a Smart Double Room.

It is such a wonderful hotel. Perfect location. Nagasaki-Unzen express bus stop is only 50m away and there are multiple bus stations within 100m. You can go anywhere by local transportation.

The hotel’s location is kind of in-between — not too far, not too close. At first I thought it was close to the JR station and ferry terminal. However, it doesn't.

Loved the room we got. Very clean and spacious.
7/11 is right next door.
There is paid parking available for the hotel.

ROOMS: spacious and clean, not extremely spacious but convenient. Beds with different type of mattresses — one is harder than another but pillows are comfortable.

Location was excellent—near transportation and shopping. Staff went above and beyond, helping us track down our daughter’s phone (left in a cab! ) Buffet breakfast offered many tasty options.

I am Korean but I will write in English to let other foreigners know of this nice hotel. This is my last day out of 4 days of visit.

1) Male front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed at a hotel and it was an excellent experience for our family trip. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, making us feel right at home.

Great breakfast and super friendly staff. The café staff were especially kind and helpful, which made it a really nice start to our trip.

I’ve not yet checked out but thought to leave this review before I do because this is honestly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Japan, and I’ve been here multiple times.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms are very modern and well maintained. Cleanliness is amongst the best I've seen, even in Japan. The layout of my room was nice too.

This hotel was great! The rooms were huge for japanese standards, we had a couch which was very comfortable in the evening to relax.

We stayed in the room with the private open-air bath and it was really great! If we ever come back to Nagasaki, we will definitely book this room and hotel again!

Amazing hotel and great value.
We booked this hotel for two rooms for one night. We arrived a little early for check in but the staff allowed us to store our luggage until it was time.

Nice, clean and convenient hotel. The staff is wonderful and provides free drinks, coffee and chocolate 24 hours a day. The room is spacious and equipped with a massage chair.

JR Kyushu Hotel Nagasaki is an excellent choice for staying in Nagasaki. The hotel is very conveniently located, directly connected to Nagasaki Station, making travel easy and stress-free.

Room is spacious and bed comfortable. Easy registration and check out. Customer service pretty good. Also location is superb, near eateries and shops, very useful.

My four night stay at the Hotel Monterey was perfect. I was given a charming single room, not tiny at all.

This hotel has a certain style. The rooms were more like dutch rooms. The beds in our room were very high. The elevator had an old-fashioned feel with a dial that pointed to the floor.

Hotel Forza seems to be a ubiquitous mid-level chain hotel in this region. We prefer it over APA hotels mainly for the room size.

Second time for me in Nagasaki, first time at Forza hotel. It's located close to Chinatown, inside the covered shopping district. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby for every meal.

Very nice hotel with a lobby inspired by Star Wars, which is cool. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are high-quality.

My wife and I stayed for 3 weeks. The 1 bedroom apartment was just the right size and had a kitchen and bathroom.

The hotel is very close to Nagasaki Station and has many restaurants nearby. However, it's best to go early, as they fill up quickly in the evening.
The breakfast served is quite good.

In front of JR Nagasaki Station and street car. Quick access to Peace Park and Nagasaki Chinatown. The room had lots of space which wasn't necessary if you are just using it for sleeping only.

We stayed six nights in the newer tower and found this hotel to be closer to a 3–4 star experience overall.

So it was beyond my expectations, self check in, it was very affordable and we had a buffet breakfast for that price.

The JAL may not be the fanciest hotel in town, but it represents great value for the money. The rooms are not fancy nor overly large, but filled with enough essentials to make for a nice stay.

Be sure to contact the landlord in advance, otherwise it will be very troublesome to go up the mountain.

Possibly the best value hotel in Nagasaki. Although the room wasn't big, it had everything neccessary, a big comfortable bed, shower/tub, decent Wi-Fi, fridge, table, TV etc.

Simple but great hotel. Clean and well equipped rooms. Well situated, close to the trainstation and many restaurants and shops. Parking available for a fee in the garage-tower right behind the hotel.

The bed is long enough, but too narrow. The ladder is also too narrow. The stairs suck! Four flights. No elevator. The kitchen is nice, but is it ample for the amount of people staying?

The location was amazing. It’s so close to Shinchi Chinatown, and you can walk to Glover Garden or Nagasaki station. And don’t forget to try Nagasaki Kakuni manju, the main store is very nearby.

Exceptionally clean and brand new hotel located close to lots of attractions, the shopping street, and places to eat. Walking distance to many attractions and the tram.

Rooms — clean and nice, with comfortable and wide bunk beds. Having only four people in room is also really good as it doesn't become crowded and noisy.

Convenience of transportation. It is close to Chinatown and you can walk to Glover Garden.
