The Hotel feels fresh and new.
Room is cozy (small) with fresh linen and toiletries needed. Note: the reception area has accessories like toothbrush, cotton buds etc.

My wife and I were surprised by the sweet gesture during our stay. It was our honeymoon trip around Wakayama, the hotel was really a cozy, rooms were clean and spacious for Japanese standard.

A most wonderful onsen hotel. The onsen is perfect, with 2 indoor onsens, and an outdoor onsen with a Zen garden. There's a view to die for from the onsen and the rooms.

Spacious rooms, very well organized. Great large bath — onsen with outside area and magnificent view.
Delicious breakfast with a lot of options, including western food and fresh fruits.

Great value for money. Clean, modern, newish, efficient, and 5 min walk from the main train station and bus station. It was a great transit point for us before starting on the Komono Kodo trail.

No humidifier in room. Also check out at 10.
But free and decent breakfast.

I have stayed in many hotels in Japan and this is in my top five. Really top drawer in every aspect. If I had to find something to complain about, it would be the lack of restaurants in the area.

I loved my stay here. The guesthouse is simple and quite remote, but extremely peaceful, with beautiful nature all around. The room was traditional japanese style and everything was perfectly clean.

Simon is a very caring host. The room is a traditional Japanese room with a nice view. Great point to start the Komano Kodo if you are hiking!

Absolutely wonderful from arrival to departure. Food, views, hospitality and accommodations just perfect. Would have loved to stay longer.

If you ever wonder how it feels sleeping on the floor as you saw in Japanese movies, this is the house for your group. The only thing short of perfect is that there is only one toilet and one shower.

Budget friendly. The private room had a squat toilet but bath is common.
No complaints for the price.
And the guy manning the reception speaks decent English.

This is an old-fashioned guesthouse. Very convenient as close to train station. The host Ken is very friendly and speaks English very well.

Giovani and yotaka were excelent hosts, drove us were we needed, opened there house and hearts to the way they live, to their cute goats and excelent. Food! We met there great people, other travelers.

Such a great experience staying at Dal’s Guesthouse. We spent the night before our journey into the Kumano Kodo. They took us to Takigiri-oji the next morning.

What a wonderful stay at this place! Dal is indeed a master chef. The dinner we had was of a Michelin star standard. He also has a good selection of wine. The breakfast was also fantastic.

We had a wonderful time there. Utaka and Giovanni were so sweet and helpful. The food was amazing. We loved it all. Totally recommend.
