The customer service was top-notch. Little touches like free Nespresso in the lobby and a laundry machine in the room were excellent perks for us. The room was a touch small for a family of 4, but manageable. We loved the in-room slippers—the best we've had by far from all the hotels we stayed at in Japan. The little roller lint tool was great for cleaning the floors during a longer stay, and though we only used the kitchen burner once, it was nice to have those amenities, especially the ice maker. The umbrellas provided for rainy days also came in handy when it rained a few of the days we were there.
We booked Section L Tsukiji because of its proximity to the market, but we found that it was very overpriced and geared towards tourists. Being located in a laneway behind restaurants also meant seeing rats scurrying about whenever we returned in the evenings. Having said that, Japan is super clean, and the hotel interior itself was well-maintained and clean—though we did spot a dead bug under the pillow. Additionally, the rooms are entered via an open-air elevator, so mosquitoes can be an issue. We encountered some in the elevator and had to rush to evade them.
Overall, a nice stay, but I would likely look to stay elsewhere next time or try a different Section L location.
