Family & bAKpAK Tokyo Hostel Hostel

Very nice place for you who have an idea to do 'backpacker'. Space ok, elevator ok, AC ok, sharing kitchen ok, clean ok. Located in Taito, means you can enjoy the surrounding Asakusa. The only think must be considered is: nearest station is Minowa = 600 m walk. But you are a backpacker, right? (note: the pics are sharing rooms)

The hotel has some bus stop nearby but it is quite far from any subway station which is Tokyo's basic transportation system.
The gentleman at the reception is a pirate and despite not putting it in your reservation asks you 5% more if you want to pay with the visa.
when we arrived it was later than 8 o'clock and had rented our room to other people because maybe I thought we weren't going.
All this seemed fatal to me and in the end what it did was cancel our booking in booking so that we could not make negative comments on the web.
He was implicitly acknowledging the bad service he had given us.
Anyway, a real pirate.

The room was really run down. Nothing looked clean. Overall just did not feel safe.

Its target customers seem to be young people only who just care about cheap price. As soon as you enter, you get the feeling that the staff members don't care about the hostel's external quality and cleanness. Very old furniture, dirty air conditioners, no fly screens, dust in every corner, a bad functioning elevator, and especially those confusing paintings on stairways, which is somewhat unique and "different", but in the end you wouldn't leave the hostel with a happy smile and recommend this place to anyone. The only good thing was the free Wi-Fi.

If you like being greeted by a grumpy guy who takes an eternity to check you in then this is the place for you. The place was OK enough, but hardly inspiring. The main plus was the massage chair and foot massager in the lounge. The worst part was when the grumpy guy walked into our room at 3am and just stood there. Very weird indeed, especially given that most guests were girls.

Very very nice hostel! All people are so friendly there. The couple of the hostel is so nice. Their english is not good enough but they were always trying to take care of me. The location is not bad, it takes less than 10 mins walk and just a straight road from the train exit. Rooms and beds are quite clean and the common room is quite well-equipped. I had a very enjoyable time there and met some great people!

We loved the friendliness of the staff and that there were plenty of facilities available to use, including the common room and cafe-style seating area outside where you can meet fellow travellers. If we had any questions then Jessica was happy to answer them and there was plenty of information about things to do, along with free Wi-Fi access. It was also a close walk to the subway station and to other attractions. We would stay here again!

Good location which is near to the train and bus stations. The staff is friendly, and my stay over here is quite pleasant.

If you black, and if you Jewish don't even come here. These guys almost messed up my Sukkot holiday. They were rude, and they made me clean dishes that I did not even make. I am my own CEO, I am my own boss, you do not make me do peasant work. I really don't care for this place. Worst customer service, they made me make my own bed! The guy had no respect for me what so ever! I forgave them and I decide to bless them even though they cursed me. If you are black or if you are Jewish don't ever come this place.

So in Japanese hostels it is customary to cover bedspreads with a sort of sheet. I stayed here in the middle of summer, so I didn't use the bedspread or the sheet since the rooms in the hostel are a gazillion degrees at night. When the man (owner? ) running the front desk came upstairs in the morning he saw that I hadn't wrapped the bedspread and started yelling at me. I told him I didn't cover it because I didn't use it. This triggered a total meltdown. He started throwing a huge temper tantrum and screaming that he knew I used it (because obviously everyone uses a heavy blanket in the middle of summer). Since I paid upfront and already handed in my key I tried to sneak out of there to avoid confrontation, but he followed me to the street and physically attacked me — — ripping my backpack, shaking me, and screaming about Americans. He then tried to demand 200 yen (less than $2) for supposedly leaving after check out. So as a hostel it gets 0/10, but as far as muggings go I'd say 10/10 very cheap. Don't stay here, don't let anyone you love stay here.

Very warm the one that attended us, and the kitchen services.

It is in the Asakusa district, cheapest place to stay in Japan, dorm-style. Experience depends on the room-mates you get. Overall cleanliness of toilets and bathrooms is very good, kitchen and living room could be cleaner. Tokyo is very expensive, so for the money it's worth it.

Friendly environment, clean room and a super helping staff in a relaxing area of Tokyo.

The kitchen is to small and very run down. No water boiler in a hostel? The house can be a bit noisy as the walls are very thin. Also I think for the area where it is, the room prices should be lower. You need 30-40 minutes by metro to get to downtown… The host is kind and helpful. It's a bit quiet customer wise which makes it less attractive if you want to meet people. It is possible though.

Bad luck this time, we have leaks in the bathroom and toilet not working. A lot f humity.

Great cheap private rooms with friendly people! Quiet location with a quick walk to Asakusa. Convenience stores and restaurants nearby.

A real backpackers hostel, I made freinds and I like the free internet + pool table bakpak tokyo hostel was great I will recommend it. See you guys soon. aloha.
