I wish I could give this more stars but from the bed bugs and the stains and the stinky bathroom I cannot. My friend and I were welcomed by a very friendly man which was great, but we had no idea what we were walking into… the elevator smelt like urine and when we walked into the room it reeked. Wallpaper was ripped. When the man left my friend and I noticed big blackish stains on the mattresses so we inspected for bugs… not sure when they were last cleaned them but we found garbage hair and then as I was about to sit down, I saw a MASSIVE bed bug so we screamed a bit packed up took a photo went down for a refund. The man didn’t seem too surprised about the news… so we found a hotel. Not fun running around at night in Tokyo trying to find a decent priced hotel!
Very friendly hostel staff and you can enjoy the free amenities they have to soothe your tired body from traveling tokyo area.

Imagine this scenario It's mid afternoon on an early august day in Tokyo. You are with your spouse and your 4 kids — the eldest 9 years old. It is raining. A typhoon is expected to hit the area in the next hours. You have made your way from the nearest subway station. Your clothes are wet despite the cute see through umbrellas you bought some days ago for the whole family. Standing in the cramped reception area of the hostel you have booked several weeks ago you see — nobody. You find a button labeled "help button" — but there is no help for you. You allow every member of your family to press the button and listen to the first bars of "Greensleeves". Nice. But without effect. The kids are getting restless. They have spent their day in trains and subway-waggons, traveling from the north of the main island to the busy capital. You knock on a door labeled "staff only". Nothing. You climb the stairs. After some climbing you see piles of cleaning stuff — but still no human being. One floor further up you find the guy who obviously runs the place (or rather fails to do so). Hurray! Well, actually there is no reason to rejoice. Because, as the guy tells you, he cannot accomodate you as your booking receipt states he is obligued to. The reason being the age of your kids. Only one kid per double room. What? You are not going to accept this and tell it to the guy. He disappears, then suddenly he is back with a phone in his hand.
