I’ve been to many 5 star hotels and this is one of my favorites. One person mentioned it being to hot in the room. Each room has its own heating and cooling system. So all they had to do was turn it down. We like it around 65 f and it was fine. One of the most comfortable beds a have slept on. It’s supportive but soft like clouds. Their onsen is awesome. Soft touch massage was good. The only think they messed up on was scheduling our breakfast then it was unavailable and then they showed up at the unavailable time. I loved the breakfast, best Japanese style I had. I don’t know about the “western “ breakfast since I’m visiting Japan to experience new things and culture I got the Japanese breakfast.

One of the best hotel in my life. The staff take the time to listen to you and do the extra miles to make you happy. I hope they are well paid because it will be deserved. The hotel is very cosy, modern and everything that you need is here or will be bring to you. There is a direct metro access from the hotel elevator and the staff will print anything for you if you ask nicely (like a plan or a minute of a monument) The onsen is good but there is no view of Tokyo from the rooftop. You need to take off your shoes at the hotel entrance which is… japanese ^^

A modern take on a classic Japanese Onsen. This is an absolutely beautiful hotel and certainly one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo. The onsen hot spring on the roof is open to the outside but the surrounding walls provide both privacy from the surrounding buildings and a unique, beautiful space. Each floor has a tea room with complimentary tea, coffee, and small bites. And most nights there is a sake tasting on the lobby floor.

Great hotel with beautiful decor and attentive service. Just wish their concierge was more experienced since they couldn't manage to book the first dozen or so restaurants I preferred.

One of the best ryokan is located in Tokyo Station & imperial palace area. Their services, staffs, room, hot spring onsen are all first class! The nippon cuisine dinner is strongly recommended — that’s amazing, attractive and surprising you! Wine lovers should have “wine pairing” too.

Hype alert — been wanting to check this place out forever but was completely underwhelmed during my stay. Not worth the money at all. Terrible food and overly attentive staff which ruins the tranquility vibe. Great concept and design overall but suspect in room build quality/amenities. There are superior options in tokyo for 1/2 the price.

I stay in 5 star hotels on a regular basis. But this hotel takes it to a new level! Beyond exceptional and the best hotel I’ve stayed in ever.

One of the top hotels in the world and the only one in Tokyo with its own onsen on the top floor. Incredible attention to details, amazing service and one of the best chefs in the world, a true artist who embeds local history and geography in the masterful creations of his fusion cuisine.

An incredibly calm hotel at the heart of Tokyo. When you first step into the hotel you feel like you have enter a another world away from the busy streets outside. The service at Hoshinoya Tokyo is beyond anything you can find anywhere else in the world. All the staff remember your name and what your schedule looks like. The restaurant in the basement is world-class, a interesting fusion between Japanese and French cuisine.

Goes beyond 5 star expectations.

Japanese ryokan style hotel in urban area. If you are not familiar with asian (especially Japanese) culture, it would be very uncomfortable.

Glad we stopped by here for the last day in Tokyo. The onsen right in the middle of central Tokyo was an amazing experience. I went right before sunrise for a morning bath as well, it was amazing. The staff is really attentive, the booking process was pleasant, the services, food, guest lounges are all first class. Quiet, private and beautiful facility, highly recommended!

Great traditional style ryokan with sophistication. Very well designed. They also have extra activities. I tried out the rickshaw which was very cool.

A ryokan in full financial centre of Tokyo. It is impressive the level of service, all is with tatami mats (and you can imagine nothing more to enter), the onsen natural on the 17th floor, and above all, the fact of not hearing noises, being where you are. The restaurant (only for dinner) makes great quality meal with a seasonal product, so yes, very japanese all.

Exceptional service and hospitality. Not much of a view from the room, but it is a very unique experience and the attention to detail is second to none.

Go to Aman at the next door for you money. Bad service (guests are not allowed to enter the property, most staff don't speak english, no staff at the front desk at night, bad check-in experience, not allowed to see the restaurant at day time), bad breakfast (rice balls is pathetic), pay extra for everything you think that an expensive resort should include (ex. Decent breakfast, mini-bar, swimming pool, gym, branded toileteries)
