Its great onsen quality pays back for your hard journey to get there. The rate is fair in that neighborhood (No need to stay overnight). Service is superb. Building and facility may look old but are very well maintained. Now, the million dollar question: What is the most critical factor when rating a hot spring hotel? The answer is: hot spring. The hotel even applied and has its own brand hot spring! If you look for a classic Japanese hot spring hotel, here is the answer.
Budget-friendly Arima hotel with nice hot springs and sauna. In the Arima area, there are two types of hot springs, and this hotel has one of them. The hotel also provides a free ticket to a public bath, so guests can experience the other type as well. I used the ticket and visited the other hot spring. The area has many steep hills — walking there was pleasant, but the uphill walk back took about 10 minutes and was a bit tiring after soaking in the bath.

It was a nice stay at this hotel, the rooms were a good size and there was an onsen inside with multiple types of baths.
The hotel has a dining area as well as a gift shop on the first floor.
Staff were polite and courteous and the area surrounding the hotel was nice and quiet.
The only potential downside would be that this hotel is located higher up mountain so it is a steep 10 minute walk uphill from the station to the hotel.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
