Doing the Shikoku88 this was a great place to rest. Host is very helpful and speaks fluently English. He will help you if possible at all.

Now I have completed my Henro and have the energy to do some review.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The hostel is very clean, cozy, and well maintained. The hosts are incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming.

Best hostel I have ever stayed. The people are amazing, especially Yna and Isshy: they are the best people ever. They are welcoming, kind, respectful and always available to help you.

A good hostel. Nothing terrible stands out about it but nothing that really makes it stand out either. Didn’t really seem to foster a social environment.

I absolutely loved this hostel. Stayed here before, during, and after my Shikoku Henro trail. The value for money is unbeatable in Japan.

Great location, friendly host, very comfortable bed on dorm room, and a wonderful common area, library, and kitchen.

There is a small kitchen free to use, with free tea and coffee and even biscuits.

Another great hostel in Japan! In one of the historic neighborhoods of Uchiko, it triples as a shop and restaurant/bar.

A very convenient location right next to Ritsurin Garden! The udon for breakfast is delicious. The facilities are comprehensive. I like the dressing room and workspace.

Amazing one night stay at Kochi no ya hostel in Aki.
The place itself is an historic building that has been beautifully preserved, previously home to a silk factory a long time ago.

The hotel is clean and decent, offering a comfortable stay. However, parking can be a bit challenging since you need to use the multi-story car park next door, which costs 1200 yen for 24 hours.

Great place to stay. Good size rooms. Staff were wonderful. Close to places to eat. Not far from train station and ferry. 30 minute taxi ride. Reasonably priced.

Great discovery.
Needing a break on the Henro trail, I stopped in Hiwasa and, thrilled by the place, ended up adding additional nights to my stay.
Top notch hospitality.

The owners rock. The space is beautiful and fun, and it's very well kept. If you're doing the pilgrimage or happen to be in this area of Shikoku, I cannot recommend it enough. No ichi no life.

May not be the best located Henro house but everything was perfect for my stay there.

The place looks weird from outside, it sits on a major street, but inside is modern, clean and quiet. It’s been full remodeled, very pleasant stay with all the amenities which you shared by genders.

I recently stayed at this guest house and honestly had such a great time. It is located really close to the train station—just a short walk with nice mountain views along the way.

I had a great stay at Riviera Iya Valley. Ryu is fantastic and such a helpful host. The place is spotless clean, nice vibe and great common areas. Room is without window but was advertised.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed here to visit Naoshima island and the city bus to Uno port (ferry) is right outside the hotel!

We stayed in Kumo, an iglo tent with all the comfort you could wish for. The best beds we had in Japan so far. We had the best dinner (shrimp lasagna) and best nature wines.

Great stay at Hotel Eco Dogo. Unfortunately it was full so we had to swap rooms halfway, doing a mix of dorm beds and private Japanese style room.

Convenient and comfortable hostel in a great location for visits to the ropeway, olive museum and soy museum. We had a room with a sea view, aircon and very comfortable futons.

Positive: The hostel staff were amazing. The man at front desk, Daisuke, was brilliant. We wanted to drop our suitcases off for free because we knew we would arrive before the listed check-in time.

Very comfortable, but the private toilet, is outside the room. All the rest is great, especially the size of the room.

Our stay at Bamboo Village was truly special.

We stayed in the en suite room. It was clean and comfortable. As others have described definitely a hostel but very well maintained and nicely furnished.
