SPA Hotels in Kumamoto

This hotel is located out of nowhere but I am surprised that there were quite a few overseas tourists like us.
The building, the room, facilities and food are amazing but because of many overseas

We had an amazing stay. The rooms are really large and very modern and stylish.

Arriving at the hotel exhausted, we were looking forward to relaxing with some delicious food and a soothing onsen bath.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere from the moment I arrived.

Me and a friend stayed here for 6 nights in October, and it was absolutely delightful.

Amazing service, I’d give 10 stars if I could. So friendly and helpful. The facilities feel so luxurious, From check in with tea and a relaxed area to check out the staff could not do anymore for you.

Excellent location with a buffet breakfast you will love. This hotel is comfortable as it is convenient. Located at the entrance of a shopping arcade, it’s incredibly easy to get around by foot.

Close to perfect, great location. Clean, tidy, amenities complete, great service, free lockers up front, daily welcome home drinks — with exceptional selection.

There are no words to accurately express how wonderful this ryokan is. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms comfortably appointed, the private onsens perfection, and the food and service spectacular.

One of the best experiences in Japan! The staff were so nice and made us enjoy everything. The food was extremely good, and the restaurant environment was great.

You can’t beat Dormy Inn when it comes to location — next to the bus terminus and Sakura Machi mall. Rooms are Japan sized but clean and fresh. Buffet breakfast was tasty and had a good variety.

Excellent breakfast well worth the extra fee. Rooms were typical Japanese size, ie, small but clean and well-serviced.

We had one night and 2 meals.
A very elegant and nice clean hotel with helpful staff. You wake up with a stunning view!
It is a hidden gem in Aso.

Did a horse back ride only. Took the 30 minute trail which was interesting. Very friendly personnel and well trained horses that you get to control on your own.

This review pertains to the onsen, accessible with an onsen pass. I arrived on foot from Kurokawa, a pleasant thirty-minute walk.

This is a quick review of our stay at the end of Nov 2025.
Room: a little bit dated but clean.

The location is excellent for hiking in the area, and good supermarkets. The private bath was a real treat and the place is quiet and spotlessly clean.

We had a wonderful stay at Asogen with our 3yr old daughter. The room was clean and spacious, with a private toilet. The bathhouse was relaxing after a long day.

Nice, spacious, quiet and clean Japanese tatami room but power plugs were not conveniently located, had to either unplug the water boiler that is behind the safe or use the one in the bathroom.

I stayed at Yumerindo for two nights, and it was a really nice place overlooking the river. Two onsen available, both of which I really liked. Food and service were both great.

Words dont do this place justice.
The inn is the sister property to the ryokan next door. Both are exquisitely designed and built, both the buildings and the grounds.

Quite a distance from bus station, but still reachable by bare foot.
There are various Onsen zone, all are pretty nice (Yes, I tried all. ). You can feel the silent at night.

It’s a gem for me. I wished I could book a longer stay. It’s definitely a place to get you recovered from the busy days and all the tiredness.

Amazing experience at this historic onsen that has been rebuilt.

Remote, family run, beautiful, lovingly run. Secluded. We were easily able to use local bus to get to and from Fukuokua. But need to be willing to walk.

Had an amazing stay at Gekkoju. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. We stayed in the Yumemi room, which had a private outdoor onsen with a view of the sunset!

We had a wonderful stay at and truly experienced Japanese hospitality at its best. The atmosphere was calm and authentic, the room was spotless and beautifully maintained.

Private bath was excellent. Friendly staffs. We had the set dinner and it was delicious.
There's parking, close to coin laundry and convenient stores.

This place was truly memorable. The owner is so incredibly passionate not only about mental health but reviving his community.

We came here in middle of October. We chose this hotel based on its proximity with the railway station. The rate was a bit steep because of the long Japanese holiday weekend.

Had a fantastic stay of two nights at Sanga Ryokan. From the moment we have arrived to the last second of our stay, the service was warm, attentive and very friendly.

We had a perfect, relaxing stay at this wonderful Ryokan. From the moment we arrived, every staff member was incredibly caring and forthcoming, making us feel truly welcome.

Convenient location near Kumamoto Castle. Humidifiers were provided to reduce dryness from the heater. There is also an onsen on the top floor.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Wing International Select Kumamoto.

The hotel is a bit dated, rooms need some renovation. Futons were a bit dusty and old.
But the best parts of this hotel are staffs and the food.
— all staffs are really nice and helpful.

Great value! Hotel’s a bit old but extremely value for money. The buffet dinner had 6 types of fresh strawberries! Dinner and breakfast was great!
Good Mountain Views too.
