Fantastic location, food and accommodation.
Unbelievable bottle wine list for connoisseurs; reasonable per glass prices for everyone else ;-) Also serves wine from the nearby amanohashidate winery.
Food is a first rate French-inspired course menu.
Gorgeous, spacious private onsen bath with attached outside rotemburo.
Tastefully appointed suite in a historic building overlooking the canal and rotating bridge.
Staff is knowledgeable and professional.
I have literally only one recommendation to improve this nearly perfect experience: it would be nice to have a proper espresso. The Swiss super-automatic machine produces a lovely breakfast coffee but after dinner I found myself wanting something with a bit more oomph 😄
