Cosy place, wonderful stuff, Japanese style room, nice warm heater and great place to stay, been a return customer and I will be back! :)

A really lovely Japanese inn, well worth a stay! The owners were very accomodating, picking us up from the bus terminal even though we arrived post check-in time. They also dropped us at Goryu in the morning. They let us shower and hang out in the common areas after we checked-out as we waited for our evening bus — and even dropped us off to the bus terminal after that! The bus stop to Happo-One is literally around the corner, and the Hakuba-Happo Bus Terminal is literally a few minutes walk away. They also sell discounted Happo-One passes, and there is a skii/snowboard rental shop across the road where you can get 30% off rentals. We stayed in a Japanese style twin room with a private bathroom, and it was simple but nice and cosy, clean and well maintained. We also used the onsen which was lovely after a day out on the snow. The owners also provided many recommendations for dinner venues (and would even call to book for you). It's an extremely conveniently located place, and very accomodating, lovely and helpful hosts that really make things run very smoothly. Highly recommend!

Most excellent stay of our trip! They were sooo helpful and accommodating :) Absolutely lovely! The room was charming and traditional, little common area with crafts and they made us afternoon snacks おいし :) :)

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this traditional japanese inn whilst on our skiing holiday. The owners are lovely people who genuinely care about your stay there; multiple times we got shuttled around to restaurants and to the ski slopes when running late with small child. We felt like at a away home being taken care of. The private rooms with toilets were very functional and surprisingly warm during the cold January nights. We asked for extra futons and were given these with no issues for extra comfort. The onsen is fantastic, after the days skiing the hot natural spring took care of the body's aches and pains. Fantastic stay, would recommend to anyone, a very good value for money as well with a quick trip from Tokyo a bonus.

Staff are very friendly and has a very at home feel. Definitely worth a stay. Also very close to the lifts. Only one shuttle bus away.

Fantastic and friendly staff make you feel right at home. Nice rooms, clean onsen and bathrooms. My favourite place to stay in Hakuba.

Wonderfully authentic Japanese ryokan run by the ever helpful Takako and her husband Takashi… simple but comfortable rooms, good onsen, terrific breakfast (optional) … and shuttle bus to ski fields is outside the door… Only place I will stay in Hakuba… Highly recommend.

Have you tried the AMAZING Japanese Hospitality? I visited Japan 4 times, this is the best hotel with the real Japanese Hospitality. It's a 3rd generations ryokan, with onsen and rooms with ensuite toilet too. So it was perfect. Maruyama-San took great care of us. There's is many great things she did for us, so I just list a few: 1. Drove us everywhere. They even pick us up from the bus stations, send us to the train station and also to the gondola because it was not the peak season and the was no bus yet. Send us to any restaurant of our choice. 2. Kimono Maruyama-san has a huge collections of kimono and Japanese wear like Shogun, samurai and ninja outfits. She dress us all up and we had a great time that night and had a lovely family portrait. And she did it for FREE. For a kimono experience, a place would usually charge 5000yen for rental. 3. Ski gear & free pass Maruyama-san even help us to safe money. They have winter cloths and gear where she lent us for FREE so you can save money on rentals. (Tips: there is a cheap rental store just opposite the hotel) 4. Snacks, soups and warm smiles Whenever you got back to the hotel, Maruyama-san will welcome you with a warm smile and prepare snack for your hungry tummy. So much love! 5. Gifts Maruyama-san gave us so much snacks and even a big pack of miso that she made to my parents. Bless her heart. -and the list goes on and on and on…

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hakuba Ski Can and highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a traditional, cosy Japanese stay. During our stay our hosts, Takashi and his wife Takako were so lovely to us, nothing was too much trouble. Also their English was very good. Activities were suggested and great eating places recommended. We were able to visit the snow on the mountain, join in on a local festival and eat the biggest, most delicious bowls of ramen. We also got the chance to dress up in kimonos and samurai gear. This was a great experience and made for some fun photo ops. There were so many thoughtful little touches that made this place very enjoyable. Thank you so much Takashi and Takako for a great stay. — Katherine and Isaac, Perth, Australia.

Simply awesome hospitality. Takako & Takakashi could not do enough to help us and make us feel welcome. Lovely warm, spacious ryokan style room, even had our own private onsen time on a few days as we were there late in the snow season. We will be back! :) :) :)
