From Hot Spring Street, convenience store is a 35-minute drive away, no self-driving is inconvenient. Homestay old woman is very warm, cheap, but relative equipment is not as complete as the average hotel. Surrounded by mountains, quiet environment.

Big room. But heating will cost extra, towels too.

Is quite remote and quiet, good if you have own transport. 4 could stay in the room comfortably, 6 would be too squeezy… we liked the place. Owner/keeper is an old lady who is friendly and tried to communicate even though she doesn't speak English. She made sure we went to watch the fireworks at Lake Toya.

The lady that runs this hotel doesn't speak much English, but that was not a problem. Rooms are smallish but clean, and our stay was pleasant. Location is in between Toya and the onsen area, and busses are available. Good for the price!

For people with limited budgets, this is a good place to be financially affordable. Opposite is the crater Outlook entrance. Although it is about 30 minutes ' walk from Hot Springs Street, there is a bus stop opposite the hotel, which is very convenient to the Tung Ye Station or hot Spring Street.
People with cars, this will be a good choice. People without cars can use the bus to get here. The last thing to remind is that, before check-in call to the hotel owner (granny), she is not always at the hotel, and watch carefully check-in rules, some services are to add money, such as heating?

The lady here is very warm-hearted and doesn't think it's troublesome to arrange a trip. Even if you don't know Japanese she will be very patient to explain to you.

Great what you get for the price! We were shown around the town. Every useful location shown to the lady of the property. We had a free drop off and pick up. We could dry our tent from camping the day before, in the hallway. We enjoyed the regular fireworks show on the lake. The place was quiet, everything you need is available. We even got a small snack when we took off.

Good place for value for money.

The owner very old but very friendly. A bit far from shops etc.

Very cozy. There is a friendly grandma in there. She doesn't speak much English but she is still very helpful. Town is 5 minutes drive away. Free parking. Free Internet.

Quaint mini-hotel with a lovely lady running the whole operation. The rooms are incredibly spacious with a great overall Japanese vibe. The only downside would be the location — it is roughly a 25 minute walk from lake Toya itself with an infrequent bus schedule.
