The staff had lots of heart. Very caring. The dinner was such a treat. The shuttle picks you up from the ferry. The baths were relaxing. I would definitely stay again.

It is a bit removed from the ferry pier but the hotel has its own shuttle service in minibus. Traditional style Hotel, sleep on futon. There are no blinds or curtains, so at 5:00am you wake up with the light. Includes dinner (you are served in the room) and Japanese traditional breakfast abundant, but do not expect gyozas, sushi, yakitoris, it is rather soups, vegetables, fish, sashimi, tofu, egg…
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very large and clean. It has yukatas to be comfortable in the hotel. Rooms with sea view.

First, you must understand that this is a ryokan, not a western style hotel. Breakfast and dinner will be lots of seafood and you will sleep on a futon which is much less cushy than what you will find in a hotel. As long as you adjust your expectations you will enjoy this lodging. The staff is OUTSTANDING. We accidentally left a cell phone a charger and by the time we realized that, a staff member was already driving it up to us at the ferry station. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience.

A lovely place, totally Japanese room with good views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As soon as my girlfriend told them it was my birthday one of the waitresses was super attentive regalandome a crane made by herself (a detallazo). A totally recommended site if you want to spend the night on the island of Miyajima.

Very nice, unique experience, very very helpful and comids typical traducional of Riokan. With Onsen, karaoke room, machines and ping pong. The views fall in love.

De har egen buss bort til hotellet, fra ferje stasjonen. Typisk Japansk rå mat til middag. Valg om japansk (masse sjømat) / western frokost (rundstykke og eggerøre aktig). Rommene er det du ser på bildet, stol uten stolben og madrass på gulvet. Bra service og 99% (ikke de eldste) snakket og forstod engelsk.

A superb experience at a lovely hotel. We stayed in a Japanese style room with a great view over the ocean. The staff were super friendly and helpful and sent a shuttle for our luggage when we arrived early in the day. We had our first ever onsen experience in this hotel and loved it. But the highlight was the Japanese banquet served in our room. Amazing food and delightful service.

The hotel is a little away from the ferry but there is a shuttle every half hour and if you let them know they pick you up. Dinners were really good, breakfast was ok and service was very good despite the language limitations. The onsen was not the best and it wasn't a real hot spring bath. Rooms were clean and daily change of fresh towels and yukatas (kimono).

We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed longer. The stay was amazing. The hotel sent a shuttle to pick us up at the pier at our convinience. They also had free shuttles in the morning to bring guests back to the pier. The room was very comfortable and the beds were large enough to accommodate my tall husband (6"3'). We had the Japanese dinner at the ryokan I'm our room. It's easily one of the best meal we had in Japan. The breakfast was also good. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were really impressed with our stay and loved our time in Miyajima.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in in Japan. If you want to immerse yourself in Japanese culture, you are here! Just make sure to book a Japanese-style room.

Lovely hotel, if a bit past it's heyday. Unfortunately a little bit far outside of the Miyajima town centre, you'll need to use the courtesy bus. It fronts on to a beach but its sandwiched between commercial fishing facilities, so not very picturesque. The restaurant is quite good, particularly dinner.

This Ryokan has a special meaning for me. It was my first Ryokan in Japan and it was always special. The rooms Are spotless, the dinner always perfect together with the breakfast. The staff is always polite, polite and courteous. They Speak English and their mini-buses are always perfect and punctual.

The hotel is fantastic. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are very spacious. I like to stayed at this hotel very much. Dinner is amazing. There is free shuttle to the port of the hotel.

Gorgeous hotel! Rooms are wonderful, as is the food and the surrounding area — — obviously a bit out of the way, but if you want to stay on the island, this is a great option. Also, convenient shuttle service to the JR port!

First let me get this out the way. This is absolutely a seaside hotel dont let the other reviewer lie to you. See my picture from my room. Excellent and very curtious staff. Extremely accomodating. I would recommend this place to anyone staying on the island. They even will happily pick you up from town! Couldnt praise them enough.

The hotel is very nice. Outside the room window is the sea. Walking to the famous Miyajima shrine will take approximately 40 minutes averagely. The dinner served is just superb. The stuff are very helpful and genuinely hospitable. They can even offer bikes at a very favorable price. I enjoyed my stay very much.

A magical place to stay. Unlike anything I have experienced before. Delicious Japanese meals, incredibly attentive staff. So lovely and helpful. The sea view room was worth every yen. Best of all they allowed us to use the onsen even though we both have tattoos. Had I known how lovely it was we would perhaps have stayed an extra night. Well worth the trip from Kyoto! They were more than happy to cater to us as vegetarians. Highlight of our japan trip!

Room is spacious. However, staffs were not so friendly. One staff even rolled his eyes when being asked to show us the room. Bath is not comfortable and not attractive at all. It is expensive too.

Hotel, family-style ryokan, very, very well placed in front of the sea just next to the ferry terminal and the street of the merchants, without the disadvantages. We had a room for 4 Japanese-style, very clean and well equipped. A small onsen in the basement allows you to relax in after a day of walking. A home wonderful and helpful as the Japanese know how to do complete the whole. Please do not hesitate to spend three nights to discover the island and its temples and climb mount Misen. One of the best hotel we've ever done in Japan.

Very nice hotel with well-sized rooms and en-suite bathrooms. This is an UNESCO heritage site and it is expected that the rooms in the hotels would not be the largest out there, but for the money I paid I got more than I expected. Hotel deserves at least one more star.

It is a ryokan in the beautiful island of Miyajima. The facilities are quite good although you will notice the passage of time. The room, japanese-style, was very spacious and clean. The common bath (onsen) was correct. The staff very attentive, although not very adept at English.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is really friendly and the dinner served in your room great. There is a free shuttle that takes you down to the center every 30 minutes and a small beach right outside the hotel. Overall a good experience.

The best japanese expirience I had while I was in Japan. The staff is friendly. The public bath is a must go for relaxation. The dinner was lovely presented and was absolutely amazing! I really recommend it!
