WeBase Hiroshima

This Hiroshima branch is the second WeBase I had a chance to stay. The first one is in Takamatsu. (few days before arriving Hiroshima) I really like the hostel's relaxing vibes, both lounge area and sleeping zone! On check-in day, I was lucky enough to check-in with cutie Miyuna🙃 I got bed number 222, which seems to be the great number and best spot! She was really kind and helpful to confirm me that I could purchase 3-day pass from peace park's rest house. Another day, I encountered with Miyuna again to inform her that the restroom's lights on 2nd floor didn't work and she accompanied with me and promptly fixed the issue. The hostel's location is more than perfect, closed to peace park, Hondori shotengai and Nagarekawa, which have lots of interesting eateries. Animate, Book-Off Bazaar and Don Quijote are all in walking distance for searching for some fun stuff. Finally, Miyuna really had superb customer service skills and KAWAII indeed! ☺️ I hope to go back to Hiroshima again somedays! Thanks to all staff for my 3-night comfy stay.

Nice common area, bright and clean; very friendly and helpful staff.
Key card required to go in and out of your room and to use elevator, feeling safe.
There are not enough laundry washer/dryer for guests to use, I was waiting for over an hour; also the dryer wasn't working properly, maybe it needs to be cleaned more frequently.
Shower/toilet was fairly clean; mattress is a bit too hard for me; pod is really small, there's nowhere to put luggages/bags, there is a luggage area in room though, jjust a bit inconvenient. There is a small safe box provided.
Location is great, very convenient, many restaurants, shops, cafes in this area.

Had a great stay here, everything is spotless and clean.
Lovely staff on arrival who are happy to explain things for you.
The dorm is spacious and comfortable. The rooms were quiet and I slept great. They can also give you a little fan to borrow from the reception desk so you get airflow at night which was perfect. The bed pod can feel a bit small but still was fine for two nights.
Bathrooms are great, again everything is super clean, I had no problems at all, was a joy to use.
Location is convenient, easy to walk to plenty of shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the Atomic Bomb Dome too.
Common area at the front that you can buy coffee and food, they got power and toilets so if you arrive early or leave late you are able to stay there comfortably. Able to store luggage and provide a lock too.
Everyone seems to keep to themselves, I did meet some friendly people but it’s not a hostel vibe where they run activities or anything but that’s expected.
All up a fantastic stay here, they really known how to keep this hostel clean.

Showers/bathroom are tight quarters, but the rooms are nice. Food in the lobby is good and they have a refrigerator both in your room and downstairs for food. Actually a really nice place to stay, relatively close to shops and train.
Staff are incredibly nice, friendly, and quite helpful.

Great stay at WeBase in central Hiroshima. Conveniently located near the beautiful peace park and near the best okonomiaki in town at Okonomimura.
The rooms are clean, spacious for some (less for others), bathrooms are small but tidy and clean and common area on the ground floor is really well setup.
Staff is kind and helpful, always around for any questions guests may have.
Prices were decent for the quality of the hotel. Overall we were happy with our stay.

When we arrived at Webase we were super happy with the size, cleanliness and layout of the rooms. I was traveling with a friend staying in a separate room. On night 2 of our stay she found bed bugs in her room. When we went to the front desk to tell them they were not overall accommodating. They were able to move her room but would not move me (I was in the room next door) unless I brought them a bug. I understand that bed bugs are out of their control and can happen anywhere but we were not happy with the service we received regarding handling the bed bugs. We asked if there was a vacuum or anything we could use to clean our suitcases with and they said no. We asked for support in ensuring the next rooms were bed bugs free and unless we brought them a live bug they would not help us out.

Great hostel. We stayed in a private bunk room for two people and hat a great stay. The location is ideal for getting around on foot and the place was super clean. The lounge provided on the ground floor also is a nice place to hang out or eat. Would definitely visit again.

Completely ruined my visit to Hiroshima.
Watch out they will charge you with hidden fees upon check out. I had explicitly asked them about late check out policy and they said nothing only to hit me with a 25% booking charge because I used their washrooms after checkout time.
This would’ve been fine had it not been for the attitude of the staff. One of them literally laughing at me when I was clarifying the charges, and then they proceeded to talk behind my back, assuming I couldn’t understand. On the contrary, they were really nice to European and American customers, so could be race based issue.
One should be able to trust their accommodation providers, but this felt like high school bullies.
Also their washrooms are dirty and men and women must shower in the same area.

Edits, since the hostel staff thinks they’re right for treating their guests like this:
> My bed was cleared by 11:00 AM checkout time. Staff claims to have went up to remind me of checkout but they couldn’t find me because I had already left the room?
> Came down to check out between 11:30-11:45, it was not already 12:00.
> They claim they need 4 hours to clean a hostel where at least half the beds were empty. The facilities were also not very clean so?
> Late check-out fees were not listed in the booking policy nor disclosed upon arrival, despite me deliberately asking.
Also, the general lack of empathy for a guest who’s checking in late due to an emergency which occurred overnight was quite appalling.

Perfect hotel in the heart of Hiroshima. Walking distance to all of the main attractions and easy to access Hiroshima Station and Miyajima Island from here.
We had a bedroom with private toilet and shower. The room had 2 sets of spacious bunk beds, my son was delighted being able to sleep on the top bunk with his own curtain around him, his own little den. The room was also a perfect size for the 3 of us for 1 night and was spotless.
Staff were very friendly!
Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Really nice hostel with good facilities. Twin rooms with bunk beds. Amenities provided, including dressing gown and toiletries. Bathroom was tiny so was a bit tricky but no other issues. Lovely hostel, staff were welcoming. Would stay here again. Motion sensor Night light at the bottom of the bunk so you can get down safely in the dark. Shelf, socket and reading light for each bed. Safe and fridge in the room.

Expect polite, helpful staff who can provide information about city activities. The shared room offers comfortable beds with warm blankets, and all facilities are clean. Good to know: you store your luggage at the entrance of the shared room. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

This is a great capsule hotel in a great location in Hiroshima.
This hotel has a lot of personality, and has an astronaut space cat as one of the first things you see when you walk in. The lounge/cafe area is a great space to sit and work at all hours, and the kitchen has items to cook with. The staff were also very kind and interested in conversing/sharing recommendations. It is in a great location as well, super closer to shopping street, okonomiramura, and a 15ish minute walk to the Peace Park. Wifi is strong throughout the property, and the bathrooms/capsules are clean.
Cons — The mattress is quite thin, even compared to other capsule hotels in Japan. You also have to make part of the bed yourself with a flat sheet, which I thought was a bit unique. The capsules are hot and don't have any airflow in them — you can ask for a fan however.

The room I rented had a bunk bed. The pictures didn’t show it justice. Very clean and immaculate.
The beds were very comfortable and the comforter was large enough for me (5’11”).
If you’re in Hiroshima and need a room to stay in, this hotel is a must. I don’t know about family space but 2 people. Perfect size.

Our two-night stay at this hotel was wonderful. The staff was super caring, gentle, and spoke English. We also appreciated the services offered, like the vending machine and the laundry, which worked perfectly. The room is a standard Japanese room, but we didn’t find it hot or suffocating. We definitely recommend it!

Great location close to everything. A lot of restaurants nearby. Public transport to Shinkansen station close by, Tram to Miyajimaguchi is not to far either. Walking distance to Peace Memorial. The staffs are very helpful, courteous and friendly. The room is clean and the facilities seem new. I like the bunk bed concept, which gives me more space. I had my own private bathroom, so it's a properly equipped hotel room equivalent but better priced. The first floor has a lot of table for surfing and working. Breakfast included is pretty nice too. I would give 10 out of 10.

My favourite place to stay so far on my trip around Japan. Booked a double room as a female solo traveller. Plenty of space for me to move about. Had all the amenities I needed. Couldn't hear anyone in the rooms on either side. A quiet hostel, but I liked that aspect about it. Staff on reception were helpful. I only required their services to send my luggage on to my next hotel and they told me where to go (5 min walk down the road).
I liked how close it was to the memorial park, museum, castle and all the shops. There are some really good coffee places not far from the hostel too. And it was an easy subway back to Hiroshima station. I'd definitely stay there again.

Showers and toilets are clean. Rooms were pretty good and people were quiet. Saw that it’s families and solo travellers. Didn’t see people mingle with others in the common area so it’s not a party hostel or that sort.
I just needed to stay here to get a good sleep and I got just that.
The con is that from Hiroshima Station, you take a train and it’s a bit of a walk, 10 minutes maybe.
