A wonderful guest house, super clean, easy walk to the train, informed, friendly and very helpful staff. Assisted greatly in facilitating my visits to local potters. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey. Nice cafe, addictive cheese cake. I will return next year for a longer stay.

A beautiful location in a lovely town. The rooms upstairs were very quiet and had a lovely view of the garden. The cafe on the first floor and great book selection in the communal areas added to the charm.
Make sure to wander around the area during the day to see plenty of potters and other artists.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It is the home of Masukichi, who was a famous potter in Japan, with ties to Noritake. While it is up for debate, the people of Seto City also claim he made the first coffee cup in Japan. A young couple run this and it is a beautiful place to stay. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of the room, but it has a low table on tatami and wonderfully comfortable beds. The toilet and showers are shared and there is a kitchen for the guests to use. You can order coffee or tea and desserts and enjoy them while looking at the garden. There is also a small nook for relaxing and reading shared by the guests. There is also a gift shop on site. I could have spent a few days here. It is close to shopping for souvenirs and pottery, as Seto City is famous for pottery. When planning your visit, be aware that shops are closed Mondays.
