Don't be deceived by the website photos and Michelin-starred restaurant. The hotel is in serious need of a renovation and the restaurant was not opened when we were there. When we checked in, the room was dirty. Bathroom had mould growing and the toilet was not flushed! When we requested to change rooms, we were told that no rooms were available. We were only there for 1 night, so we decided to rough it out. Might have been a better decision to check out cos we spotted insects crawling out of the woodwork late in the night! We checked out immediately when the sun rose!
That said, the hotel is in a great location. Being in the middle of the historic centre means that all the sites are within walking distance. The view from the hotel is also amazing, although you don't have to stay in the hotel to enjoy the view. If you're driving, do note that there is limited parking in front of the hotel but there is paid parking within walking distance.
Definitely not 4-star as advertised. Closer to 2-star. Would give it 1-star if not for its location.
Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were always extremely helpful and courteous. The view of the valley was amazing and the location was central to churches and close to the town square. The buffet breakfast had a good selection.

Fontabella isn't a four star hotel. Three, at best.
Cons:
* Small double bedroom with tiny cupboard.
* Exceptionally small bathroom.
* No controllable aircon or heating.
* No irons or ironing boards available for any guests. (Bizarre. )
* Rooms over the main street are very noisy.
* We were overcharged for our room, and had push for a refund.
