The rooms were small and the beds were very hard. The shower had mildew in the corners and smelled of mildew.

I recently stayed at Albergo Celide for 7 nights, I cannot praise the staff highly enough, they were all so helpful, warm and friendly and helped make my stay in the wonderful city of Lucca a great one. I found the location of the hotel to be perfect, just a 5 minute stroll to the city walls, or you can use one of the hotel's bicycles free of charge, a great way to explore the city and get around. The hotel was very clean, well maintained, and had a good choice of breakfasts for all tastes. My single room had good air con, a large bed, a nice large bathroom and with the bedroom windows closed at night you couldn't hear a thing of the outside world so a good nights sleep was had every night. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had, thank you Albergo Celide.

Everything was perfect! Impeccable cleanliness, the room was spotless. Reception staff was very cordial, professional, and very friendly. Reserve without hesitation, you won't find anything better! Small very nice hotel, friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Just out side of the city walls of Lucca, 10 minutes walk from the train station.

Very well appointed and clean hotel.
Lovely smell to the reception as soon as you arrive.
Beds are very comfy and pillows good and soft.
Shower works well. Shame All of the TV channels are set to Dubbed Italian… only 1 channel not was world news…

A lovely hotel perfectly located to explore Lucca. The standard of the rooms are high and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. We will recommend it to friends.

The hotel Albergo Celide is what could be classed as a boutique hotel. It has been run by the same family for several generations. The staff were all wonderfully courteous and helpful. From what I witnessed, car parking is very limited. Arrive early to not only secure a good space, but to avoid being parked in. The location is very good, with the hotel well placed to access the town, but also simple to get to by car. We booked a spa package, which included access to the spa area (sauna, steam room, mood shower, jacuzzi tubs and cleaning shower) and a 50m massage. Be warned, you'll be in and out of the shower, sauna and may need to change clothing, but there's no private space and other people may be using the spa too. The spa manageress was accommodating and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable and with a nicely equipped bathroom. There's a TV and inadequate air conditioning unit. Breakfast is nicely presented, but with a somewhat limited choice. The fayre is continental only, with no hot food choices. It was absolutely fine and the quality high. If you are physically disabled, the entry allows easy access to the hotel and there are lifts (elevator). The lift is very small, but big enough to accommodate a wheelchair. I am unable to comment further on any disabled-friendly rooms. I would stay here again if visiting the area.

Clean and comfortable room. Small but very nice spa. The hotel crew was really polite and helpful. The breakfast, however, was quite poor and didn't exceed in quality. For sure it didn't match the criteria you are expecting in a 4 start hotel. Great position for visiting Lucca.

Already tried for two consecutive years is a great base for those who decide to visit the city. Located just outside the walls near Porta Elisa is extremely clean and with friendly staff at your disposal. For lovers it also has a spa with sauna, steam room, hot tub and emotional shower. Pleasant also the body treatments that are to be booked separately. Breakfast is great. A note of relief for the restaurant to be taken into account, well cooked and tasty dishes. Come back.

Excellent hotel in a great location with free parking, good breakfast and bike service to travel around the city! I really recommend it! The only little flaw is the room a little warm! But the staff are really friendly and helpful always at the service of their customers!

Staff speak excellent English and are very friendly. Hotel extremely clean and the bathroom is a good size for two people to get ready.

Four stars as it is this comfortable hotel to reach both by car and by train. Comfortable, clean and equipped with almost all comforts. To mention the large American breakfast in choice and excellent quality.

I really love this hotel. It is close to the entrance of the wall. Breakfast is really good and there is a nice rooftop area to relax and have a few drinks.

Nice hotel located just outside Porta Elisa, with dedicated parking. Rooms are clean and spacious. It offers a SPA and a restaurant with fish based menu. A really good choice for long or short staying, both for fun or work.

We stayed 2 nights in August at this hotel. The hotel is located close to the road and a house that has a courtyard with dogs that often bark. I would recommend you to ask for rooms on the back of the building. The rooms are simple, no more. The breakfast is rather sweet and it is better not to arrive towards the end of the service. The staff sometimes had difficulty managing the crowd in a rather small room. A plus is the availability of bicycles to visit the city of Lucca, one of the entrances of the ramparts is a 10 mn walk.

Elegant Hotel just outside the walls of Lucca. Very convenient to visit the city, I am gratedly available to guests walking bicycles. Good hospitality, great breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. Booking is available the internal SPA and many treatments. The restaurant is excellent An honest 4 star.

I have been coming to this hotel routinely since 1998! It is fantastic hotel with great service people. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast buffet is very good, and the bar is worth a visit.

Music and perfect ambience. Inadequate and superficial service. Italian clientele rude and rowdy. Acceptable quality of food.

I was in Celide's bar for a fast lunch. I enjoyed the meal, prepared with fresh, simple and delicious ingredients.

Gem of a hotel. Ideally located in Lucca, next to the city walls, with bicycles available. Street parking is plentiful and inexpensive (8am-8pm). Attentive staff, clean modern rooms, and air conditioning.

We arrived mid morning and the people at reception were very friendly and helpful with storing our luggage until our room was ready. They gave us a map of the city and suggested many places to visit while here. Our room was called "Compact" but it was big enough for the two of us for two nights. It was very well appointed and very clean. We were given use of the free bicycles which is a great way to ride around the wall of the city. Breakfasts were also good, although very European, there was plenty of it. Reception was also able to get us a reservation at Ristorante Celide next door for dinner, where usually you need to book well in advance. I highly recommend this hotel.

Not the best, but overall decent experience. Location is good for Lucca, although sound insulation is not perfect. Some rooms face the road, and openning the window there would let in too much noise. You can also hear everything outside the door and above your room. It's not very bad, but sensitive to noise — beware. Hotel itself is very modern, which takes away the old world charm, but is convenient. Good spa. Personally, I would stay there again.

This hotel is just across from the Wall of Lucca. You can walk or take the bicycle to visit the city center. The staff at the Hotel are so helpful. Sonia is just the best. The restaurant next door is outstanding. For a lunch the bar on the corner is also very good. It is a short way to the train station. I will hope to come back again.

A lovely little hotel on the edge of the walled town of Lucca. Easy to get to the railway station. The rooms are lovely, the staff very helpful. A nice restaurant next door and if you don't want a large meal there is a small bar on the other side that does tapas type meals.

SONIA THE RECEPTION LADY WAS EXTREMLY RUDE! The first day there were no bycicles available, we asked at night if there were going to be bicycles available for the next day and they said yes! Next morning we were ready to go and SONIA said there were no bicycles but outside we saw 8 bicycles! They had reserved them for the same group. We weren't able to ride bicycle and the other group did twice, even though we were ready to go first!
We had to rent extras, the worst thing was the behavior of the reception lady. She was very rude, no fair at all.
On the other hand, our bathroom in the room smell horrible, the carpet on the room was very dirty. The whole hotel smelled old and dirty! Very bad hotel, PLEASE AVOID GOING THERE!

Location is very convenient just outside the city wall. With the controlled traffic zone it's nice to leave the car at the hotel (free parking) and rent a bike (free for hotel guest) to explore the old town.

Hotel outside of the walls of Lucca, but in 5 minutes to foot you plants within the city. For my taste, the rooms are tiny and also the bathroom, but it fulfills its mission. Perhaps somewhat expensive for what it offers, but there are worse by area.

I have been staying in this hotel for over 15 years during Lucca Comics. Really a great hotel, with an Amazing restaurant, breakfast and super friendly staff.

Super service. Cool bicycles to borrow. Lucca is great to explore on a Celide bicycle.

Great location for getting around the city, close to the motorway and the train station if you want to make excursions to other cities. The hotel room was comfortable, staff very courteous and professional, Spa, small but really nice. A mention in the restaurant really exceptional. Absolutely highly recommended.

The hotel is very nice, located outside of the walls (I didn't like those inside) but allows using free bikes — so you can go wherever you want. Service is very nice and people are friendly. Restaurant is delicious, and for those who are up to some party — just after the restaurant there is a bar where a lot of people gets together — can be the most crowded place in the city in the night. Dont't worry, it's music you won't hear from your rooms.
