From the outside it is hard to realize how big this place is. There were already big groups of students were staying here. Maybe there was a special tournament in the city when we were there, I don't know. There was a big dining hall downstairs. The facilities were very nice. Spending time on the terrace is absolutely wonderful. We were lucky as a couple because we had a really big room and the view was amazing. The only thing we had difficulty with in our room was the insufficient or incorrectly placed electrical sockets. It is not a luxury hotel but it definitely meets what you expect. Anyway, no one would spend time in a hotel in Florence. You can reach the central train station by walking.
There is a reason for two stars. I have travelled and stayed in a lot of hostels, but I was very disappointed of this one. It's huge, and full of young people screaming at all times. There is a school or something like that next to it. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is not your place to stay. I was given a room next to the street, in front of a pub. It was impossible to sleep until 3 am. When I asked to change rooms, the staff member asked me to take all my stuff from the room until check in time to a different room at 3 pm. I insisted and finally was given a different room, a smaller one.
When I went to have breakfast at the diner I paid for my coffee and they told me I couldn't eat food (I had a fruit with me) that I bought from outside. It's a hostel. I was sent to the common room. What is the deal? I'm paying for the hostel I should haven't been forbidden to eat wherever I want. Is the first time something like that happens to me.
Regards to the room was very clean and the sheets too. They give you a clean towel and shampoo. The locker needs a specific locket to be able to lock your stuff. If it's not the right thickness it will not work.
Anyway as a traveller, if you want a quiet place… I would not recommend it.

Traveled for a whole month. Best hostel ever, hands down. This is a hotel with twin sized beds, and they even have a pool!
Beds so comfortable, I finally was able to get a good night sleep.
Breakfast was really good, they had a good selection of everything and it was only €10, worth it definitely.
And it is a social hostel, there was karaoke night, and there is a pub right across the street where I got to talk to both locals and travelers.
As far as location, 15 min walk to the duomo so that was perfect for me, and it felt like a pretty safe walk even as a solo traveler.
