I would really like to leave a 5 star review, but unfortunately I can't. The staff here are wonderful friendly and smiley, the food was great and location perfect. The room however, really not great. We paid extra for the "deluxe" room, and were so disappointed. On the website, it looked lovely, and the picture made it look like there was a seating area outside. There wasn't. No balcony, we wouldn't have minded, but it seemed that every other room had a seating area outside. There were no windows, and not even a table in the room to sit around. So to enjoy a drink in the evening, we had to go to the pool bar, which wasn't open every evening. At the end of our stay I asked why this room was classed as a "deluxe " room. The lady told me that its because of the size, the other rooms are smaller. And this is the only room that has sky lights. Honestly, the sky light windows were tiny, and not worth the extra money. I expressed our disappointment and asked if we could be compensated. The answer was no, but they would give us a discount on the parking. After taxes, this amounted to 7 euros! We felt really deflated, and a bit cheated. We didn't sleep very well as the bed wasn't comfortable, but we understand this is a personal issue, not everyone likes/dislikes memory foam mattress. If you are booking here my advise is stick with the standard room, DO NOT BOOK THE DELUXE. Thank you to the staff though for the lovely service.

Melrose Relais is an exceptional, family run hotel. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are incredibly clean and the staff go above and beyond. We were staying in room 307 which had a terrace overlooking Capri. We enjoyed breakfast everyday — the pancakes are outstanding.
My only negative about this hotel is the cost of drinks. We were very mindful of this so did not buy much but somehow managed to spend 100 euros. On one day, we ordered a small bottle of peroni and a coke zero. We were told the peroni was 6 so how the total came to nearly 14 euros for those two drinks is beyond me. You expect the prices to be more expensive but that was ridiculous — this was the same with all other drinks and let the place down (especially considering the price you pay for your stay).
Overall, I would recommend Melrose and would come back but I would avoid spending any money at the bar.

Well, sadly, the time has come to leave Melrose Relais 😢.
What a gorgeous little place, has felt like we’ve had the place to ourselves, the staff have looked after us so well. It’s clearly a family affair and you feel this in the way that the staff care about you.
We had such a beautiful meal on our last night — and a sunset to die for! A special shout out for Pasquale — a funny guy! We’ll miss you xx.
