MelRose Relais

Melrose Relais is an exceptional, family run hotel. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are incredibly clean and the staff go above and beyond. We were staying in room 307 which had a terrace overlooking Capri. We enjoyed breakfast everyday — the pancakes are outstanding.
My only negative about this hotel is the cost of drinks. We were very mindful of this so did not buy much but somehow managed to spend 100 euros. On one day, we ordered a small bottle of peroni and a coke zero. We were told the peroni was 6 so how the total came to nearly 14 euros for those two drinks is beyond me. You expect the prices to be more expensive but that was ridiculous — this was the same with all other drinks and let the place down (especially considering the price you pay for your stay).
Overall, I would recommend Melrose and would come back but I would avoid spending any money at the bar.

What a gorgeous little place, has felt like we’ve had the place to ourselves, the staff have looked after us so well. It’s clearly a family affair and you feel this in the way that the staff care about you.
We had such a beautiful meal on our last night — and a sunset to die for! A special shout out for Pasquale — a funny guy! We’ll miss you xx.

A pleasant and enjoyable stay with a cozy swimming pool, bar, and restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea. Very warm welcome by Rovatiana and excellent, friendly bartender "Yuri", who makes delicious signature cocktails. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day. Thank you.

Beautiful & peaceful hotel in Sorrento. My boyfriend and I stayed for 7 nights and it was perfect for what we were looking for. The location was base to be close to Sorrento centre and to travel to the Amalfi, I would recommend hiring a scooter rather than using buses due to business. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, everything was clean and very pretty. We will miss Melrose!

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in the world. Michelin star service with a family style vibe. Melania, Rovatiana, Elia, Mimo, the chef and little Mattia will make sure that you have the most amazing experience while you stay and explore Sorrento and the Amalfi coast!

Very beautiful hotel and property. Amazing views of the sea and sunset. The staff were all incredibly helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Only thing to be aware of is the location. From Sorrento to our hotel, we gotta charge 60 euros by a taxi driver and upon arrival were told that that’s the typical experience of travelers with Taxis in Sorrento. This leaves the alternative of taking the public bus which was fairly convenient but can get very busy. Given the location of the property however, there is not much within walking distance such as bars, supermarkets, or restaurants. The breakfast we ate at the hotel was unfortunately not very good.

Me and my partner booked the Melrose for our wedding here and it was perfect in every sense.
The rooms are in excellent shape as well as other locations in the Melrose.
I cannot put into words how great the staff are who work at the Melrose are and they are always happy to help you.

Rovatiana was very helpful and accommodating to us! She was so lovely to speak with! The pool bar and restaurant is fantastic as well. We will definitely be returning. Hotel is super comfortable and they have rentals available like bikes, scooters, and cars to rent from vendors nearby. This made our stay so easy! Thank you to all the staff at Melrose Relais for making our stay such a breeze! See you again!

Stayed here for 4 nights, the room was very good and the service upon check in and check out was seamless. Breakfast was where service lost half a star as the food could be better. The price for food at the pool is very expensive but the bartender was very polite. Our meal with two drinks came to over 100€. We were also told that there wasn’t any buses and taxi was the only way to get up and down the island. I think a shuttle would be a great suggestion for guests.

This hotel was fantastic. As others have said, such a hidden gem. Only a short bus ride away from Sorrento! Our room was very clean, and quite big compared to other places we stayed in Italy! The service was amazing, Walter the owner went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable — he helped us set up dinner reservations including a shuttle from the hotel to dinner and back, and he also helped us organize a private transfer to Naples when it was time for us to leave (it was last minute and he helped so much). Really made things stress free. I would definitely stay here again!

Our family (2 adults and a 10 year old child) had a lovely stay at MelRose. This is a beautifully designed and maintained facility in a serene location a short 10 minute drive from Sorrento’s port. We stayed here for 3 days after traveling all over Italy this summer, and it was the best end to our vacation. The website photos are true to the premises — the hotel is clean, lovely, and relaxing. The staff and family running the hotel were all very professional, helpful, and welcoming. Thank you Melania, Walter, and Rosy (and family! ) for making our stay at MelRose such a lovely experience — especially for our daughter! 🩷

The Melrose is a beautiful property located just outside Sorrento and just before Massa Lubrense. This location lends itself to creating the perfect oasis on the Amalfi coast, away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities in peak summer.
The pool area is comfortable, featuring a bar and many loungers — the hotel only has 12 rooms so this area is never too busy and a good spot to spend the afternoon in the sun. Mind — "beach clubs" in the area charge upto 50 euros for sun loungers on crowded commercial beaches.
The rooms are modern, which is significantly different from its neighbors, and offer good views of Vesuvius and Capri. Comfy beds, a stocked minibar and good aircon make for a very good nights sleep.
While the Melrose is walkable to only a handful of restaurants, the manager and concierge Mr Walter is proactive in offering suggestions, making bookings and arranging for free "courtesy" cabs to and from the nicest restaurants in the region. We ate out all 4 nights and were promptly picked up by taxis and dropped back — sometimes even at 11/12pm.
The breakfast is very very good — serving a variety of pastires, local meats and cheeses and a live egg station.
Finally, the staff at the Melrose are an absolute delight and always happy to help. In addition to organising dinners each night, Walter also booked us exclusive boat trips to Capri and Positano and even lent us some coins for the bus when we needed — a true gentlemen.

It‘s a beautiful place. I can only recommend it. The garden, the pool, the room. Everything perfect. It is much more beautiful than on the pictures posted online.
