Hotel Moderno is located on a quiet pedestrian area in the town of Stresa. It features an inner courtyard where candlelit dinners are served. The rooms at the Moderno Hotel are air conditioned and soundproofed with en suite bathroom and satellite TV. Most have balconies. Wi-Fi internet is available throughout and it also has a restaurant and bar. The restaurant has seating areas inside the hotel and outside, both under a gazebo in the street and in an internal courtyard. The hotel is 100 metres from the jetty on Lago Maggiore from where trips can be organised to the Borromee islands. Cable car trips to Mottarone also depart from Stresa and Malpensa Airport is 50 minutes’ drive away.

I will be returning to the Hotel Moderno for the fourth time in July 2020 as part of a Glenton Coach Tour. My husband & I really like this Hotel and the resort of Stresa. The Hotel is very well appointed and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. My husband is a vegetarian and a fussy eater and the chef & restaurant staff are very accommodating to his needs. Really looking forward to visiting again this Summer.

I've had two stays here, both were excellent and exceeded expectations. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms are clean and fresh. I loved having breakfast here before spending the day exploring. Both times I had a room with a view of the lake. The hotel is surrounded by cafes, music concerts, shops, a grocery store, and easy access to the marina, walking, and hiking. Highly recommended.

The food is no longer worth anything, you notice that no tourists sit outside. The service is very friendly, however, the rooms of the bus drivers 106 leave much to be desired. Even if rooms are free, these will not be passed on. You hardly dare to open the window because you have a view into a dirty shaft and you only feel disgust. Normally the bus drivers should be rested to offer the guests safety, but this hotel has unfortunately not yet understood this.
