The view is splendid but attention the private beach is paid 32 € for a deckchair whatever the duration, supplement for omelette or other breakfast very expensive, note on the vehicle if it is not luxurious, frosty welcome and especially the rooms are not all renovated so old-fashioned … pay attention to the final grade! Avoid!

This is an old tatty and unloved property that is over priced. The difference between this property and the Miramare which is also seafacing in Santa Maragarita is a world apart. The beds are rock hard and so are the pillows. The hotel needs a complete refurbishment and the waiting staff which the exception of the excellent barman need replacing.

Beautiful view but prohibitive rates with extras extra for everything. The rare facilities are reserved for the season by the regulars. Unpleasant impression of being a customer just tolerated Quality of rooms very variable according to the floors. Staff neither friendly nor helpful. Not to the international standard at this price level.

We celebrated a wedding on Sunday 1 December beautiful place even if it rained wonderful staff good and especially attentive to the needs of the guests. It ate great and we had a really good time thanks to all the staff ❤❤

I love coming to this hotel. Everything about it is special. From the spa treatments to the rooms with roof top terraces. All the staff are so helpful and the beach area has unrivalled views of the bay. This is our third summer here. That says it all!

Picturesque Location, charming. The perfect organisation. Beautiful the garden, the terrace, the beach. Reign the order and cleanliness both in the common areas and in the rooms. Very high quality food, the breakfast with different sweets fattiin house and fresh fruit of the season. The professionalism, the hospitality and the kindness of all the staff are exceptional.

The location is wonderful.
Only negative they charge extra for day beds €20 a day for there own private beach and € 20 a day for parking which makes it just as expensive as the best hotels in the area.
The concierge and reception staff are fabulous though and the women that checked us in was the best front office person we’ve had in any hotel ever especially in Italia.

They we're very helpful and nice. The hotel is by the water and for an extra price 16€ you can use the sunbeds for a day. Breakfast included. A very nice view with a garden up from the hotel down to the water.

The hotel is in a privileged location and enjoys a beautiful view of the sea! The prices are not cheap, but not even disproportionate in relation to the structure and the four stars. The staff are friendly, the rooms comfortable. My family and I had a pleasant holiday!

Not a good value for money hotel. Parking is for a fee, if they take advantage of it because there are no parking spaces nearby. Also the price of parking on the last day increased without we were aware of it. Not even covered parking!
You should also pay attention to the final account because they charge things that you have not used.
The rooms have an outdated décor to be a 5 star.
Of positive there is the excellent breakfast consumed on the wonderful terrace with a splendid view of the sea and St. Margaret.

This 4 * earns its stars by location, location, location and minibar ;O) Best thing regarding to my room was the royal balcony. If you want a stunning view when eat breakfast this is the hotel you shall chose. The breakfast self is a turist buffe. With eternal lack of scrabble eggs.

Excellent structure located at the gates of Santa Margherita Ligure in a beautiful seafront location. Prestigious halls and park that comes to the sea. Very good service.

This is our favorite hotel for Santa margarita. Good views and nice services and nice rooms and nice balcony so enjoy time here.

We are thrilled, the sea view is gorgeous, breakfast of the finest with sparkling wine and everything that wishes, wireless internet is free, everything very clean and staff friendly and multilingual, pity that the parking is paid but otherwise 5 stars are deserved.

Old Hotel. Bad room arranged as a small corridor where there was the single bed making one part and the bathroom indecent on the other. One-time room for Servanthood, not a 4-star hotel!

If you can… stay in no other hotel than this. Its incredible beautiful.

The service and the view are excellent and the staff goes above and beyond to satisfy your every wish, but you clearly recognize that the hotel is a bit old. There are e. G. Old furniture and hardly working Wi-Fi. Here is some room for improvement. However, these issues are minor and not the cause for only four stars. The missing star goes back to the dinner quality. Here my wife and I expected more based on the reputation of the house. My wife had lasagna as a primi and did not finish it, as it was dry and quite tasteless. I had sole a secondi which was also dry. This should not happen in a house of such renown.

Beautiful view and grounds and situated in a nice area. The dinner was over-priced and cooked completely wrong (risotto was way too aldente, swordfish was well done & dry, and the filet that I ordered med rare was barely cooked and raw). Stay here for the view, but find the central Piazza for the best restaurants!

Went last year. A sad experience. Paid 330 euro for a shit room. & To be treated in a miserable way. I had the same bad experience in 2004 but I was stupid enough to try again. (cause the view is amazing). The only impeccable thing was the impoliteness and arrogance of staff and management. Don't go.

Beautiful place and nice friendly staff. Thanks to the beautiful day, the garden, the view of the Gulf, the façade of the hotel vaguely retro have done just a backdrop for a beautiful wedding.

I've been here few times, but this is the first I've written a review. Don't know why I waited so long! What's not to love about this place? I wake up in the morning in my room at the top floor and I open the window:at my left the sun is rising over Sestri Levante; in front of me, a beautiful garden with palm trees and the big ocean with the peninsula of charming Portofino. Breathtaking! At my right is the Santa Margherita Ligure harbor, with small yachts and fisherman boats and seagulls. What more could you ask for on a visit to Liguria? Just bring me breakfast in my room: the Cinqueterre hiking trails can wait till tomorrow! Today is for relaxing! :) When traveling, I'm not too picky about the room size or the "impressive" breakfasts at the hotel, which is a good thing, since the rooms in Italy are not large like twin beds room in Las Vegas. What matters is the view, which is amazing! And the service, which is impeccable. I have been to Liguria many times (my family as well) over the last decade, and I can say with certainty that this hotel is the best location in the area. You'd be hard pressed to find another hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure without a street between rooms and the sea: no cars, no Vespas zooming about, just the green gardens and the blue ocean! We can't wait to go back and see one of the most beautiful places in Italy (complete with THE most friendly staff). You will not regret visiting this area or staying at this hotel.

The historic building and the fantastic garden leading down to the sea greeted us upon our arrival. Lovely sea views! Helpful staff, great breakfast and good staff made our stay very pleasant. The hotel rooms facing the street are a bit noisy, but notified by time we opted for the right room for us.
