The Romex

Beautiful room in a boutique hotel that’s part of one floor in a larger building. The staff stayed late to wait to greet us and give us the keys when we got there, and the fridge was stocked with multiple drinks (still and sparkling water, wine, milk/creamer) plus some snacks and lots of tea options + a full set up for tea. We also had a nice little balcony with a view of the city, and the blinds were motorized which made for easy opening/closing. I only wish we could’ve stayed longer! Within close walking distance of the Vatican and some great restaurants and gelato shops.

Fantastic hotel in a really nice location of Rome, easy to get into the centre but still feels like a quiet area at night. Room was bigger than I expected, and the balcony was gorgeous. Monica was fantastic and really attentive, and all the staff seemed friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

The Romex Hotel.
Monica truly went above and beyond to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary! We stayed at the Romex for three nights during Easter weekend.
The room was absolutely perfect—a 10 out of 10. Monica again received a perfect score of 10 out of 10.
The location was fantastic; we were just a short walk from two metro stations, making central Rome easily accessible in less than 30 minutes. Plus, a 48-hour metro pass was only €15 each, which we could purchase from the machine or use the buses with the same pass.
There were plenty of buses that passed by the hotel. It’s not exactly a traditional hotel, more of a boutique guest house, but it was definitely better than a hotel in our opinion.
The room included a mini fridge with soft drinks, a can of beer and water. There was also a coffee machine that made great coffee.
They allowed smoking on the balcony, which was a plus.
Taxis were easy to use with the Uber app, which was cheaper than other taxi apps. We only used it to get to the Vatican, which cost between €15 and €20 each way. For everything else, we used the metro, which ran until around 1 am.
The location was great for restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, and there were two corner mini-markets just a minute away from the Romex.
Having travelled the world to many hotels, Monica did everything possible to make our anniversary the best time ever.
We highly recommend The Romex and will definitely look for these boutique hotels in the future.

Exceptional hospitality! Very clean rooms and exactly like dipicted online. Staff was super friendly and gave us good reccomendations for food! Highly reccomend a stay here!

Best experience of a life time.
I was skeptical because the reviews were so good, but this hotel exceeded every expectation. One of the best stays we’ve ever had thanks to the genuine personal touch. Before check in they knew we were in town, sent dining recommendations, and held our bags. We were here for our honeymoon and felt truly celebrated with a handwritten note, wine, chocolates, and romantic details. I couldn't figure out the lock and they were so attentive responding immediately to my message.
The room was spotless and comfortable with a great shower, a stocked fridge, and a TV with Netflix and Disney Plus in English. The view was just okay, but everything else more than made up for it. Warm, thoughtful staff and an unforgettable experience. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. You must experience this. I don't want to leave this place!

After a bad experience at an AirBnB, we decided to stop here. It was a very pleasant surprise! It was an hotel, so glad that we stopped here. The staff were helpful and accommodating. They came out to greet us right away and they were very friendly. They gave us lots of assistance carrying some heavy bags we had without us even having to ask! The rooms are immaculate and decorated in a nice modern style. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has a nice shower. Our room had a balcony with a good overlook of Rome. The hotel felt safe and comfortable overall.
